Chapter 30: A Girl So Beautiful It Makes One Faint
***
Eastern Forest Area outside the city, Shimmering Waves Lake Shore (Lv.5~Lv.7)
In the middle of the forest path, a white forest rabbit with Lv.3 displayed above its head was happily munching on a freshly dug carrot when suddenly, a crimson shining magic array appeared out of nowhere above its head, immediately scaring the forest rabbit into running toward the nearby bushes.
From within the complex red runic magic array, the figure of a snow-white-haired girl gradually materialized.
Her refined and noble heels gently stepped onto the air, instantly creating a red rippling circle at her feet, as if forming a series of steps supporting the girl’s elegant and beautiful figure, as her steps gradually descended to the ground.
“Phew… fortunately the teleportation magic is still working.”
Tilia breathed a sigh of relief, in just a single breath, she had instantly teleported from the BOSS room to a forest at least ten kilometers away.
As a vampire, she naturally possessed extremely high compatibility with magic, and the damage she dealt in the game was all classified as “magic damage,” whether she was casting explosion magic or slashing with her blood moon scythe, it was all essentially driven by magic.
“Hmm? What’s this?”
Just as Tilia’s feet touched the ground, she felt like she had stepped on something.
Looking down, it was actually a carrot with a few bites taken out of it.
And her supernatural sense of perception immediately made her notice the forest rabbit in the nearby bushes. It was now standing upright with its snow-white long ears perked up, staring longingly at its carrot left outside, unwilling to leave yet too afraid to approach Tilia.
“Is this yours? Take it back.”
Tilia had no interest in the half-eaten carrot. She raised her hand and added a layer of red magical glow to the carrot, which immediately floated into her palm, then was casually tossed toward the bushes.
The little creature, having retrieved its carrot, seemed to express gratitude by wiggling its ears before immediately disappearing into the bushes with the carrot in its mouth.
Normally, a Lv.3 forest rabbit, if spotted by humans, would definitely be hunted with arrows as ingredients for a delicious meal, and it would immediately avoid humans upon seeing them, let alone staying in place unwilling to leave.
Was it because she was a vampire now, with higher affinity compared to humans?
After all, according to the game settings, as a Vampire Princess, she didn’t need ordinary food, and animal meat wasn’t what she required. On the contrary, human blood was what vampires needed as food…
This made her marvel once again at how exquisitely detailed and realistic the game settings were.
It already made her truly start to believe what the Star Lord had said, this was no longer just a game, but a real alternate world.
Tilia walked to the shore of Shimmering Waves Lake, a natural pristine lake in this forest that connected to a distant cascading waterfall. Under the unobstructed moonlight, it was as if the entire lake had been purified, crystal clear and sparkling with ripples.
On the quiet, deserted lakeside, only the distant sound of the waterfall and occasional bird calls from the forest could be heard.
Taking advantage of this secluded place, Tilia approached the lakeside, dipped her fair hands into the cool lake water, cupped some clear water in her palms, and splashed it on her face, trying to calm herself down from the intense battle earlier.
“Ah…” Suddenly, Tilia froze completely.
Her cupped hands became fixed in mid-air, with the clear water escaping through her fingertips back into the lake, creating ripples on the water surface that first scattered then gradually restored the mirror-like reflection of that beautiful girl’s face.
In the mirror of the lake, the incredibly beautiful white-haired girl also showed a shocked expression, her fingertips trembling upon seeing her own appearance.
Her porcelain-like skin was flawless with a subtle pearly glow, appearing like jade nurtured for thousands of years under the current moonlight. The slightly sensual off-shoulder dress accentuated her snow-white, rounded shoulders, making them look extremely delicate and alluring.
Her slightly parted cherry-like small lips were temporarily unable to close, her exquisite little nose was as smooth as jade, and her small ears hidden among her hair strands appeared pink and adorable.
Her proportioned and beautiful features, almost flawlessly complementing each other, collectively depicted the girl’s indescribably beautiful face. It was so unreal that she even reached out with her small hand to pinch her own cheek, and that soft feeling couldn’t deceive her.
“Is… is this really still me?”
Tilia blinked her large eyes helplessly, looking at the lake surface with suspicion.
Additionally, below her right eye was a very noticeable blood mark, like a solidified drop of blood, or a ruby casually placed by a deity. Those red pupils were more gorgeous than the most mellow wine, and the slightly upturned corners of her eyes should have looked bewitching, but the shadows cast by her trembling eyelashes showed a hint of innocence.
No, no way, this can’t be serious?
Although she had become somewhat accustomed to this body during the closed beta, it was only limited to combat.
This was the first time… or rather the first time she had so seriously and carefully examined her appearance. After all, even during the closed beta she had this appearance, but she had never paid much attention to it, since it was just a game she could exit at any time.
Besides, she had always been a lone wolf, busy exploring maps and defeating BOSS.
In any case, she wasn’t really a female player, just playing a female character in the game. She wouldn’t deliberately look in mirrors in the game to admire her beauty. Her awareness of her appearance mostly came from others’ evaluations and praises.
She only knew she was very beautiful, nothing more.
But now that vague concept was becoming as clear as the lake here.
She suddenly recalled the scenes of being chased by fangirls during the closed beta. Whether players or NPCs in the game, there were always people who would blush and stuff roses and love letters into her arms, sending her private messages, shouting absurd things like 「Sister, please step on me」.
At that time, Tilia only felt embarrassed, but now she strangely understood that fervor, the reflection was indeed beautiful to the point of being almost unreal, like a doll carefully carved by the creator, with every detail steeped in mesmerizing magic, practically forcing one’s inner M tendencies to awaken.
Is this the city-toppling beauty that allowed the Vampire Princess to have countless suitors?
“I never… thought I would be this beautiful. Is it because of the moonlight filter making it look better?”
Tilia felt dizzy, almost fainting from her own beauty, trying to find excuses to deny her incredibly beautiful appearance, but clearly she couldn’t calm down again inside.
Because the situation was different now. Before, she was just playing a female character and could return to the real world after logging out, easily distinguishing the boundaries.
But now she felt extremely real as a girl, coupled with the growing sense of realism in this game. She wasn’t just playing a character anymore, she had completely transformed into a young and beautiful girl!
Even though she frantically tried to switch back, the game system’s answer was — powerless.
Looking at the red disabled text under the 「Dark Night Swordsman – Nolan」 character slot, with ineffective prompts constantly popping up as she clicked, it seemed to be mocking her — “Don’t overthink it, just embrace being a cute, soft, and lovely beautiful girl.”
And not only beautiful, but also powerful.
Even though the basic values given by the game levels were all fixed, meaning everyone could have the same attributes upon reaching the level, vampires possessed multiple exclusive passives.
For example, the 【Noble of the Eternal Night】 passive, which was “All attributes increased by 75%, this effect doubles at night.”
And there was also the 【Blood Feast】 passive, with the effect of “In battle, there’s a chance to return a certain percentage of damage dealt as HP,” which was essentially a life-stealing effect, almost completely solving the issue of sustainability on an individual level.
If there was any inconvenience to speak of, it would only be the 【Crimson Hunger】 DEBUFF unique to vampires, requiring regular blood intake to satiate hunger.
But how should she explain this to Cross and the others later? This was really too embarrassing!
She could already imagine Cross’s shocked expression upon learning the truth, and a disgusted expression looking at her like a pervert to be avoided. Despite being a dignified young man at heart, she was meeting people in the shameful form of a pretty girl.
The reliable image she had worked so hard to establish would vanish overnight.
“…This is disastrous.” Thinking about being interrogated by Cross with a look of disgust, Tilia’s delicate body suddenly trembled. But before she could recover from this discomfort, along with her body’s trembling, her left shoulder suddenly felt cool as the fabric slipped.
The silk fabric slowly fell from her rounded shoulder, revealing a large patch of snow-white skin. The hollow of her collarbone held half a pool of moonlight, while the plump white cleavage formed by the pressure of her arms also appeared dazzlingly white against the black lace collar.
Compared to her slender figure, Tilia’s chest could definitely be described as full, with her bulging chest outlining sexy curves.
Without a doubt, whether it was her face or figure, it could be said to be doubly perfect, making her feel her cheeks heating up.
“I-I can’t take this anymore, even though I felt nothing before…!”
It must be because of the enhanced realism of the game.
Tilia had originally come to the lakeside to calm herself with cold water, but now her cheeks were becoming increasingly flushed. She quickly shifted her gaze from the lake surface, took several deep breaths, before finally calming her chest.
A series of light bell sounds rang out as she opened the game system and the message panel.
Due to the change in character identity, her chat box also had an additional switch button, allowing her to switch between “Nolan” and “Tilia,” with the social systems and friends lists for both existing independently. It was equivalent to her being able to play two roles as one person.
Looking at the series of messages Cross had sent her, Tilia didn’t know how to respond.
She must have noticed her going to challenge the BOSS room alone, which is why she appeared there earlier. While Cross hadn’t returned yet, should she head back to the inn in Morning Dew Town first and think about how to explain what happened tonight to her…
Or should she keep it a secret for now?
