Chapter 10: First Kill of the Morning Dew Wolf Pack (Part 2)
***
The Star Lord only said the difficulty of each level’s BOSS would be upgraded, while the values of wild monsters were exactly the same as in his memory. There was no difference between the beta test and the official release. On this basis—
The basic attack value of a Lv.5 wolf is 60 points, which is then combined with his own 45 armor value according to the formula for comprehensive calculation.
Without calculating critical hits and armor penetration modifiers, the universal calculation formula is (a.atk * 2.5 – b.def * 2), with damage fluctuation values between (-10%~20%). However, because damage in 《Floating Island: Fragments of the Stars》 is also related to actual force, there are grazing judgments and incomplete hit judgments.
So in the end, his HP value could withstand about five attacks at most.
And most players, when dealing with one wolf, would be attacked by two other wolves, almost being defeated by the third round of encirclement.
If unable to dodge the attack after the third round of being hit — the result would be death right here.
“Haaaaaah—!” Nolan swung his blade with force from his waist, his gaze firmly locked on the three enemy targets. When his steps reached a certain distance from the wolves, his feet suddenly pushed hard against the ground, and gripping his sword, he leaped into the air to slash at the wolves.
The three wolves also suddenly lowered their front limbs, causing dry leaves to make crisp crackling sounds under their sharp claws as they howled and pounced toward him with outstretched claws!
The moment the first wolf lunged forward, Nolan’s sword was already raised to its neck position, and he brought it down with all his might. Then, as the second wolf from the left came in with a bite, he kicked it in the abdomen, interrupting its attack.
“Whimper.” The struck wolf tumbled backward to the ground but quickly got up again.
And immediately following with a 【Arc Slash】, Nolan used his sword to sweep away the three wolves, briefly creating distance and avoiding being surrounded.
— Not finished yet, 【Linear Thrust】!
A sword light quickly passed through the air, and Nolan’s figure, having just created distance, launched a sword technique to thrust back at high speed.
But while two wolves were sent flying, the sword clanged loudly against the face of the third wolf, failing to cause the expected damage.
He had originally wanted to inflict damage on all three targets at once.
But surprisingly, the last wolf triggered an extremely low probability judgment — a block.
“What?” Nolan slightly narrowed his eyes.
This small probability trigger based purely on luck could only be attributed to bad luck.
And because of the triggered blocking mechanism, the wolf seized the opportunity to firmly bite down on Nolan’s sword blade. This momentary deadlock created an opening, providing an excellent opportunity for the other two wolves to attack.
Although Nolan had already made a dodging motion, he immediately found that due to his low level and insufficient agility attribute, he couldn’t completely avoid it.
Indeed… his stats weren’t sufficient to support some of his combat operations.
If this were his beta test account, these wolves’ blood would have already stained his blood scythe before they could pounce.
“Oh no, his HP is dropping…” Seeing Nolan’s HP drop by about a third after being hit, Cross’s face turned pale. She quickly gripped her wand with both hands, closed her eyes, and tried with all her might to cast a spell.
Please, please! Cast it!
Just like when fighting the wild boar earlier, cast it smoothly…!
She kept pleading in her heart.
Otherwise, once Nolan was knocked down and lost his weapon, he would definitely end up like that player they saw on the road earlier, being mauled to death by the wolf pack. She didn’t want to see it, didn’t want to see Nolan’s HP rapidly decreasing… or even dropping to zero.
After all, facing three level 5 beasts alone at only level 3 was quite risky even in a game.
Even at the same level, with the current almost basic equipment, fighting three targets simultaneously would be extremely difficult! And without any chance to respawn, once defeated, it would be completely over…
“Ugh—!”
But Nolan, caught in the wolf pack’s encirclement, kept his jaw tightly shut, refusing to surrender. Instead, almost instantly, he mustered all his strength, roaring as he gripped his sword that was caught in the wolf’s mouth, pressing forward desperately with a creaking sound.
“Haaaaah—!”
As the sword edge clashed with the wolf’s teeth in a sharp friction sound, sparking golden-red embers flew out like molten iron splashing from a furnace!
After all, why should defeat in a game mean death? This was simply too unreasonable.
Looking at these monsters designed by the game, rushing up to attack him so naturally trying to take away his right to survive, every point of decreasing HP made Nolan increasingly angry at these rules.
Yes, all the way from leaving the Pure White Holy City, the emotions building up in his heart contained anger.
These common wild monsters were no longer just game data for experience points in his eyes, but real enemies trying to take away his existence. Without the resolve to fight to the death, with an attitude of just playing around, he would absolutely not survive in this world going forward.
“Get out of my way—!!!” Nolan’s throat likewise emitted a howling sound.
Until the tightly clenched wolf teeth were soaked in blood, the sword blade emitted a glow indicating skill activation, and with a spray of blood, he pulled out the sword.
Then, his palm released the sword, and at the moment when the sword’s edge vertically pointed toward the ground due to gravity, he gripped the hilt again and thrust it behind him without hesitation, directly impaling the two wolves’ bodies together.
Even if in reality he was a useless person who couldn’t even stand, at least here he was not a weakling to be slaughtered at will!
Under Nolan’s face, half-stained with blood, his eyes blazed. With another strike, he swept away the wolf pack again, then quickly unleashed sword techniques against the two nearest wolves.
—【Multi-Strike Combo】
Before learning more powerful sword techniques, this was a skill that could inflict relatively high damage in the early stages and had very strong suppressive power.
The sword light quickly slashing through the air caused the HP values of the two wolves to rapidly decrease to the red line. Nolan breathed heavily, one sword light after another ceaselessly cutting forward, releasing the emotions currently built up in his heart.
As two wolves fell from Nolan’s relentless attacks, the last wounded wolf tried to pounce again, but several projectiles formed from magical elements had already hit its head directly, knocking this final monster to the ground as well.
It worked! Cross felt the vibration from her magic wand.
Looking at all the wolves lying on the ground, Nolan stood in the center, catching his breath, his body continuously rising and falling. He stepped on one wolf’s body, and in the instant after battle, a white system screen opened in the air as the battle settlement.

【Player character Nolan has reached Lv.4】
In some areas, there are groups composed of multiple monsters that are viewed as a single elite target.
Usually, compared to common single elite monsters, these are better to tackle strategically, as they can be defeated one by one, and the rewards are also more generous. However, encountering elite wild monsters depends almost entirely on luck.
And Nolan immediately noticed a piece of equipment flashing with green light enter his inventory.
【Wolf Fur Armor (Green)】
【HP: +100, Physical Defense: +25, Magic Defense: +20, Agility: +5】
The original basic equipment was 【Starter Iron Armor (White)】, which only provided 【Physical Defense +20】, barely adequate stats.
When all the wolves had been slain, Cross quickly looked up, concerned about Nolan’s HP value, but fortunately the result made her breathe a huge sigh of relief — it had only dropped to about half, showing green.
Below 50%, the health bar would turn yellow, and below 25% it would turn red as a warning. Nolan was barely maintaining around 52%.
“Phew… Thanks.” After the battle, Nolan steadied his breathing and thanked Cross for her supporting magic bullets.
After tapping a few times on the pop-up screen and closing the settlement panel, Nolan touched the 【Basic Healing Potion】 entry from his summoned item list. After a flash of light, an emerald green potion appeared in his palm, completely restoring his HP and MP values.
Then his gaze turned to the town in his field of vision ahead, with a tall windmill tower standing in the midst of lush green fields.
“Let’s go, Cross. It seems we’ve arrived at Morning Dew Town.”

From the short summary it gave Yuri illusion but from what I am reading it’s nothing like that
The protagonist isn’t going to change bodies until chapter 27, so it’s normal to feel that way. Just treat all the chapters before that as a long prologue, the real story starts from there.
how often do the paid chapters release?
well, for this novel, I want to say as fast as the author publishes new chapters. But the latest translated chapter has already caught up to the raw, and the author themselves has simply disappeared, so let’s hope they return soon.
Ah ok
Yes, Let’s hope
