Hearing this, Wu Xiaoyin quickly lifted his head and asked, “Is that true?”

Seeing Xiao Xiao’s excitement and anticipation, Lei Lu couldn’t bear to see the light in his eyes disappear, so he replied, “Of course it’s true, but the condition is that you must not overexert yourself during this time. You need to rest well and not do any unnecessary tasks. Only then will I take you.”

Wu Xiaoyin listened to his words and repeatedly promised, “I promise I will rest well. Just trust me, okay?”

Looking at Xiao Xiao’s big blinking eyes, Lei Lu couldn’t help but think of the clean and pure eyes of a giant deer beast cub. Right now, Xiao Xiao was looking at him with only his reflection in his eyes. This fillled Lei Lu’s heart with a sense of satisfaction, as if the world Xiao Xiao saw was just him.

Lei Lu couldn’t help but hug Xiao Xiao tightly and chuckled, patting his head. He thought about how wonderful it would be if Xiao Xiao could quickly understand things, but he was still young. He really hoped Xiao Xiao could grow up quickly!

During the next half month, Wu Xiaoyin was truly obedient. He only went for walks around the outskirts of the tribe with Xiao Kai and Bin. Thanks to Lei Lu’s efforts, their cave was already filled with winter supplies such as piles of preserved animal meat and large jars of pickled vegetables and dried fruits. Wu Xiaoyin marveled at how capable Lei Lu was. They had enough food for this winter, enough to last until the next hot season.

So, a team of about 500 people gathered at the tribe’s entrance to head to the trading location in the center of the continent together. In the first half of the harvest season, the satisfaction of filling their cave with all the supplies they could gather made all the beastmen walk with the wind.

During the last half month of the harvest season, apart from normal daily consumption, they couldn’t gather or hunt too much from nature. They had to leave enough resources for other creatures to survive. Although the beastmen’s numbers were minimal compared to the entire continent, their consumption was still modest. However, the belief of asking moderately was ingrained in the hearts of the beastmen, so even during the cold season where there were not enough materials, they wouldn’t overharvest.

Moreover, before Wu Xiaoyin arrived on the beastman continent, food couldn’t be preserved for long periods, so in the end overhunting would lead to many wasted food, which was unacceptable for beastmen.

Another important reason was that the Exchange Day had been passed down through generations among the beastmen. No matter how great the difficulties or hardships, they would still gather during this time because it was the only opportunity for large-scale communication and exchange throughout the year. The historical process of the Beastman Continent often began with the annual Exchange Day!

Due to the larger than usual team this year, the tribe chief Kun appointed Lei Lu, Kos, Feng, Hu Yi, and Hu Er to lead the expedition, with Lei Lu as the captain. The tribe chief hoped to give the young ones an opportunity for more training and broaden their horizons. Additionally, Lei Lu’s father Lei Yan accompanied them in case any issues arose that the younger ones couldn’t handle. There would be an experienced beastman to help.

Lei Lu’s main purpose for this trip was to take Xiao Xiao out for a change of scenery, so the exchange itself wasn’t the main goal. The large willow basket was already filled halfway with the things Xiao Xiao needed: a giant cowhide mat, two giant rabbit fur blankets, a change of animal skin clothes, small bowls and chopsticks, etc. The main items for trading were preserved small fruits in palm-sized stone jars prepared by Xiao Xiao, which didn’t take up much space, so one large willow basket was enough.

Of course, this willow basket was woven by Lei Lu and tailored for his own frame. The basket Xiao Xiao made was already cherished and might never see the light of day again.

Thus, when Kos carried the animal meat and skins for trade from his family and Xiao Kai’s, he felt very aggrieved seeing Lei Lu so relaxed. Although this weight wasn’t much, it made it impossible for him to show off his majestic body to Xiao Kai. Carrying such a heavy load felt like it diminished his heroic beast form.

However, Kos’s grievances went unnoticed by Xiao Kai, who saw the willow basket on Lei Lu’s back and only remembered that he hadn’t learned how to weave willow baskets from Xiao Xiao yet. He blamed Lei Lu for being so possessive!

In the end, such a large team set off like this, with the roaring tigers soaring through the sky, spreading their wings and flying towards the center of the continent!
