This year’s hot season passed with Wu Xiaoyin diligently expanding his wine cellar. By the time the harvest season arrived, Bin was about to give birth. Since Feng didn’t allow him to go out, Bin missed witnessing the breathtaking sight of white cotton and plump rice during this year’s big harvest.

Wu Xiaoyin saw the harvest scene for the first time. The beastmen were incredibly efficient. They quickly piled the cotton into small mountains that resembled fluffy clouds in the fields.

During the harvest season, Wu Xiaoyin began brewing this year’s specialty, the grape wine. Its short fermentation time and good taste made it an excellent choice. With a cellar dedicated for storing wine, Wu Xiaoyin confidently directed Lei Lu to run around.

The three little ones mainly followed Pu Pu, playing merrily while the adults were busy. With the adults occupied, the four cubs entertained themselves happily.

The harvest festival started together with the exchange day. But during the festival, Bin suddenly cried out in pain, startling everyone from their solemn prayers. Feng immediately noticed something was off and anxiously asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

Suppressing his pain, Bin replied, “I think I’m about to give birth.”

At his words, the surrounding noise faded like ripples on a calm lake. The priest was in the midst of communicating with the Beast God. Wu Xiaoyin quickly scanned the area for Ah Lu. Fortunately, Ah Lu came over after hearing the commotion. Upon seeing Bin’s expression, he told Feng, “You need to take him home right away. Bin looks like he won’t last until the sacrificial activity is over. We must assist with the birth immediately.”

Feng broke out in a cold sweat at Ah Lu’s words. He scooped Bin up and hurried home. Wu Xiaoyin and the others also left the place. After all, the Beast God would not blame him if he saw it.

By noon, Bin successfully gave birth to a cub. Yes, it was a male cub. Wu Xiaoyin marveled at how quickly it happened. He hadn’t expected it to take less than an hour! Too fast, right?

In contrast to Wu Xiaoyin’s focus, the three little ones reacted differently. Lei Huo looked smug. He casted a challenging glance at Lei Dian and Wu You. This is what you get for not listening to me! Now you look lost!

Lei Dian and Wu You were in a indescribable mood at this moment. After all, they had been eagerly anticipating the arrival of a female cub. Sure enough, the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment!

Kola on the side seemed relieved, whether for his dad and brother’s safety or because the baby was male, thus avoiding future fights with other males.

Lastly, Pu Pu looked at the adults’ joyful expressions. The little bun who had just turned into a human form wore a silly smile on his innocent face, not fully grasping the situation.

Bin’s smooth delivery filled everyone with happiness. The upcoming exchange day felt more festive than before. Wu Xiaoyin was even more happy to announce a 20% discount. Everyone was excited, especially since they had been longing for wine since last year’s orange wine, which was still on their minds. The limit of two jars per trade meant they couldn’t last a whole year, and as the growth season approached, they eagerly looked forward to the exchange day. They were afraid of not having the wine!

In the same trading stone house from last year, Wu Xiaoyin spotted Zhan and Lan Shi. Noticing Lan Shi’s pair of panda eyes, Wu Xiaoyin realized that Zhan might never recover from this in this life. He felt a strange sympathy for Zhan, while also sighing at his own similar situation.

Wu Xiaoyin also saw Datta and Walker, who did not show up last year. He admired Datta for still traveling the mountains and ridges despite being heavily pregnant. He couldn’t help but feel envious of Datta’s relaxed look!

Wu Xiaoyin also expressed his gratitude to Ah Lu and Li who came to trade. Without Ah Lu’s timely help during the festival when the priest was occupied, Bin’s delivery might not have gone smoothly, even though it took less than an hour.

Finally, seizing the moment when everyone was gathered, Wu Xiaoyin proposed, “Let’s all go to Bin and Feng’s house for dinner today. We can also check on Bin and the little cub, Kopu.”

Indeed, the moment the name Kopu was mentioned, one would know that it was Wu Xiaoyin who came up with it. But Wu Xiaoyin defended himself and said at that time, “Since Kola has a ‘K’ in his name, the brother should have one too. It’ll make it clear they’re brothers. What’s a good name? What about Kopa? Kopu? Kopu? Hahaha!”

However, Wu Xiaoyin had to clarify that it wasn’t his decision but Bin’s. “This name is great, let’s call him Kopu, little Kopu.”

Wu Xiaoyin looked at the pure and toothless smile of the innocent cub and thought, I’m not the one causing trouble, it’s your dad…

The group made their way to Bin and Feng’s house in a mighty manner, with some teasing the cubs while others cooked. It was lively and noisy.

Wu Xiaoyin watched the three little ones eagerly circling around Kopu’s crib, trying to see him. Frustrated by the adults surrounding the baby, they whined anxiously. There was also Lei Lu who was roasting meat with one hand and playing with Xiao Xiao’s fingers with the other. Wu Xiaoyin thought that life like this was wonderful!

The future may still be simple and vibrant, but if it could continue like this until old age, that wouldn’t be so bad!

The future is still long…
