Transmigrating to the Beastman Continent to Live a Happy Life - Chapter 162
As the little cubs rushed forward, Lei Lu took a large step and directly cut off their hopes. The three little ones bumped into Lei Lu’s thick thigh. They stumbled on the ground with their paws on their heads, expressing their pain!
Lei Lu ignored them completely and stepped over the three little ones to bring the nearest jar of wine to Zhan. He signaled him to open it.
At this moment, Wu Xiaoyin was nestled in Lei Lu’s arms. He watched as the three little ones lost their audience and froze, then burst out laughing.
Lei Lu turned his gaze back to Xiao Xiao’s face, then to the now docile three little ones who had gotten back up. After a flash of disdain, he said to Zhan, “Hurry up and open it. If you want to trade, do it quickly. Otherwise, you’ll miss out.”
Zhan and Lan Shi exchanged glances, unsure of what Lei Lu meant. Zhan opened the wooden stopper on the jar. An unfamiliar aroma wafted out. It was the fruity fragrance of giant red orange, with a hint of something intoxicating that could make people dizzy.
Zhan lifted the jar and took a swig. After drinking, he smacked his lips. He seemed unsatisfied, yet he passed the jar to Lan Shi who was standing beside him.
With a hint of regret, Zhan said, “I don’t know why, but after drinking, I want more. There’s this itch inside me, a feeling of not being satisfied.”
Wu Xiaoyin understood that Zhan found the low-alcohol fruit wine not strong enough. He said, “That’s because this wine is more like a juice. Compared to other stronger spirits, you might find it lacking?”
Zhan replied loudly, “Yes, yes. That’s exactly how I feel. I just couldn’t express it myself.”
Lan Shi tightly gripped the jar and asked, “So, how do we trade?”
Before Lei Lu or Wu Xiaoyin could respond, Xiao Kai and his group quickly squeezed in front of Wu Xiaoyin. As Xiao Kai spoke, he made his way toward the jars, “Xiao Xiao, you’re really hard to find. I didn’t know you’d be hiding in such a remote corner. I got pushed around the whole way here and finally made it to you. You have to compensate me!”
Wu Xiaoyin looked at Xiao Kai’s moving eyes and asked, “Say, how can I compensation you?”
Xiao Kai laughed and replied, “As for me, I won’t take advantage of you. Let’s just trade ten jars of wine, and we’re even. Hahaha!”
Hearing their conversation, Zhan on the side grew anxious and quickly interjected, “We came here first, so we should trade first. You can wait in line.”
Xiao Kai noticed the already opened jar in Lan Shi’s hands and realized this good stuff couldn’t be kept a secret. He said generously, “Alright, since you came first, you can trade first. You can’t possibly trade all the wine here, right?”
Hearing what seemed like a threat from Xiao Kai, Zhan swallowed hard. He had intended to trade for all the wine, but now it was bluntly stated. No matter how thick-skinned he was, he couldn’t withstand the gazes of so many people around!
Before long, more and more people gathered as they learned about the wine. Watching the clash between Xiao Kai and Zhan, and recognizing that Wu Xiaoyin was equal to delicious food, everyone’s curiosity and appetite were piqued. They all wanted to get involved. But seeing the fierce Xiao Kai made many hesitate.
At this point, Lei Lu observed the dense crowd around him and declared loudly, “Each person can only trade for two jars of our wine. No more!”
This was an idea Wu Xiaoyin had borrowed from limited-time offers and hunger marketing back on Earth. Since his time and energy were limited, it was impossible to satisfy everyone. The principle of first-come first-serve and limited stock would allow more people to trade while minimizing trouble.
Thus, Xiao Kai and Zhan quieted down and obediently began to line up. Zhan and Lan Shi were two people, while Xiao Kai, Bin, and Pu Pu made three. Zhan huffed in irritation. Having a cub was a great thing!
Xiao Kai stared at Zhan, clearly indicating that having cubs made him special. He then pulled Pu Pu up from the ground with effort and gave him a couple of hearty bites. Pu Pu looked confused at his dad’s sudden affection. He was completely baffled by the unexpected display. But then he shot a challenging look at Kos, as if to say, Dad loves me more than you, haha!
In the end, Wu Xiaoyin’s wine was quickly traded, and he got a lot of cotton cloth, light gauze, coarse salt, animal skins, and herbs. For Wu Xiaoyin, this was all for fun. After all, Lei Lu couldn’t stand the thought of other beastmen’s animal skins being on his Xiao Xiao.
As some people left satisfied, many others departed in disappointment. Wu Xiaoyin’s stomach growled and not to mention the five little cubs. Wu Xiaoyin smiled and waved to the five little ones, who happily followed Lei Lu back home!
