Transmigrating to the Beastman Continent to Live a Happy Life - Chapter 158
The group returned to Wu Xiaoyin, Lei Lu, and the three little ones’ home. The aroma of food was already wafting through the air. The three little ones rushed toward the dining table, climbing up the legs of the chairs to reach it. Just as they were about to jump onto the table, Lei Lu shot them a warning look. His Xiao Xiao was clean and adorable, and his cubs couldn’t be sloppy either. How could Lei Lu allow Xiao Xiao’s attention be taken away by the three little ones!
Kola transformed into his human form and obediently stayed by Lei Lu’s side as they took their seats. Poor little Pu Pu inherited the strong foodie genes from his dad. He naturally surpassed his dad and was now fully on the path to becoming a glutton. He stood on his hind legs and used his front legs to cling to his father’s knee, which made him look barely a cub. He desperately searched for the source of the delicious smells, drooling all over the floor. Xiao Kai tossed Pu Pu over to Kos with some disgust.
Thus, the lunch ended amidst the frenzy of the five little ones devouring their food.
After they were full, Wu Xiaoyin thought about this year’s upcoming exchange day event that would also be held in the tribe. Last year, due to Xiao Kai’s incident, no one had the heart to participate, even though it was happening right at their doorstep. They still didn’t participate.
But this year was different! Everyone was healthy and in good spirits. Wu Xiaoyin decided to brew some wine. He had a variety of wines prepared over the past months, enough to last a long time. However, this year he wanted to focus on producing a single type of wine in bulk as his main item for the exchange day.
Choosing which wine to make gave Wu Xiaoyin headache. Sometimes having too many options was just as limiting! Since both adults and children were present, Wu Xiaoyin thought he would ask for their opinions. “Now that everyone is full, can you help me out?”
Xiao Kai let out a big burp and yawned lazily, saying, “Xiao Xiao, what do you need help with? Just say the word, and I’ll definitely help.”
Wu Xiaoyin chuckled and said, “It’s nothing serious. You don’t need to look like you are willing to sacrifice yourself. I just want to ask which of my wines you all like the most.”
Since he started brewing, Wu Xiaoyin had been generous. He would share one or two bottles with friends and family, especially with the alcohol-loving father and the tribe chief, as well as the priest who valued the medicinal properties of his brews.
Xiao Kai perked up at this and answered without hesitation, “Any wine you make is delicious. I love them all.”
Kos on the side nodded in agreement.
Wu Xiaoyin then turned to Lei Lu behind him. Lei Lu was busy playing with Xiao Xiao’s little paws and he agreed, “Anything you brew is great.”
Feeling disheartened, Wu Xiaoyin looked at the five little ones who were staring back at him. He asked with a mentality of just trying, “Kola, Lei Dian, Wu You, Lei Huo, Pu Pu, which of my wines do you think is the best?”
Kola and the three little ones had tasted the fruit wines, which were like juice for children. Unlike flower wine with higher alcohol content, they could occasionally enjoy fruit wine.
Kola spoke first, “Uncle Xiao Xiao, I think orange wine is the best. It’s sweet and tangy.”
Lei Dian added, “Aoo!” (I think strawberry wine is delicious. You can smell the strawberries from far away!)
Kola translated, “Uncle Xiao Xiao, Lei Dian also thinks orange wine is the best.”
Lei Dian impatiently retorted, “Aoo aoo!” (Did you even listen? I said I like strawberry wine!)
Kola explained, “Uncle Xiao Xiao, look at how excited Lei Dian is. You can tell how much he loves orange wine.”
Lei Dian huffed and angrily turned his butt to Kola. He slowly moved to his father’s feet and bit his shoe in frustration, wanting his father to stop the translation!
At this moment, Wu You piped up, “Aoo aoo aoo!” (Dad, Dad, my favorite is lychee wine. It’s sweet, and I love it so much!)
Once again, Kola interjected, “Uncle Xiao Xiao, Wu You said he likes orange wine the most! Right, Wu You?”
Wu You was so angry that he lunged at Kola. Would he dare tell such lies again?!
Finally, Lei Huo had no translator or spokesperson. He could only whine pitifully at Wu Xiaoyin. However, Wu Xiaoyin didn’t understand animal language. Seeing the other three laugh uncontrollably, he realized that Kola’s claims about Lei Dian and Wu You liking orange wine were probably not true. But since the other three couldn’t express their preferences clearly and Pu Pu was too young to count, Kola’s favorite orange wine won by default in the end.
Oranges could only be harvested during the harvest season. Wu Xiaoyin thought he should prepare ahead of time to avoid being late. Thus, during the entire growth season and hot season, his main focus would be on brewing orange wine.
Of course, the unscrupulous father eventually revealed to Wu Xiaoyin which wines the three little ones truly preferred. Lei Dian liked strawberry wine, Wu You favored lychee wine, and Lei Huo loved peach wine. During the growth season, Wu Xiaoyin brewed extra to satisfy the children’s wishes.
Oh! And let’s not forget about our adorable Pu Pu who loved plum wine. Wu Xiaoyin also prepared plenty for him.
Finally, the harvest season arrived just as Wu Xiaoyin had hoped!
