Transmigrating to the Beastman Continent to Live a Happy Life - Chapter 101
Lei Lu wholeheartedly supported everything Xiao Xiao proposed. Both Kun and Luo agreed with Xiao Xiao’s decisions. After all, he was a wise one bestowed by the Beast God. Kun and Luo didn’t feel their authority was being deprived nor did they harbor any dark thoughts.
Thus, the beastmen of the Giant Tiger Tribe started on a vigorous housing construction project!
Wu Xiaoyin and Lei Lu ran back and forth in the valley of the Giant Tiger Tribe several times, and finally came to a decision that the construction would start from the square and expand outward in a fan shape. The stone houses for the tribe chief and the priest would be at starting point of the tribal square, which was also located at the center of the whole Giant Tiger Tribe. It was then followed by single females, then couples, and finally single males.
For the open spaces along the northern riverbanks, Wu Xiaoyin planned to use them for planting giant rice and common vegetables once water resources were no longer tight next year. This would also reduce the risks for females venturing out of the tribe. However, this was merely to satisfy the daily needs of the females. Large-scale farming wasn’t realistic. Even with the beastmen’s immense strength to help achieve it, for the beastmen, it would only be a game of planting with the females.
After all, the beastmen’s staple food still came from energy-rich animal meat, so Wu Xiaoyin simply noted it down for future consideration.
With the combined efforts of all the tribe’s beastmen, females, and even cubs, a prototype stone house was quickly built. Here, it’s worth mentioning the important role of sticky grass. In the primitive Beastman Continent, finding raw materials for cement was quite challenging. Even though the continent was rich in resources, the difficulty of blindly searching for such materials without knowledge remained high.
He had overheard females complaining about their beastmen being clingy, and they would use sticky grass as an analogy. Wu Xiaoyin instinctively remembered it. He didn’t expect it to come in handy at this critical moment. Using sticky grass as a binding material, the stones fit together tightly, making the stone house solid, sturdy, and… somewhat spacious.
However, this design by Wu Xiaoyin catered to the free movement of the beastmen in their beast forms. For example, the prototype stone house was created for the needs of Priest Luo. There were bedroom, kitchen, living room, storage room, and basement for daily living. An adjacent stone house was built to better accommodate injured beastmen. At the same time, a large yard was also made to allow the priest to grow some essential herbs and receive ample sunlight for drying them.
Kun and Luo, as the tribe leaders, looked at the completed stone house with great satisfaction. They promptly assigned tasks to ensure the building of stone houses, patrol, and hunt at the same time, with the stone houses constructed from the center outward.
In just two months, the stone houses for the entire tribe were completed, including the construction of heated beds and interior furniture.
Wu Xiaoyin was thrilled to see his new home. It was complete with enough space in the front and back yards. He kept talking to Lei Lu, “I want to plant some fruit trees in front. How wonderful it would be to reach out and pick fruit during the harvest season!”
“And I want to place a stone table and stone benches under the fruit trees. It would be the perfect spot for shade in the hot season!”
“Most importantly, we can plant a small patch of bamboo behind the house, along with some commonly used spices like giant ginger, giant spicy fruit, transparent fruit vinegar, giant black fruit and many more, hahaha!”
Lei Lu looked at the sparkles of happiness in Xiao Xiao’s eyes as he envisioned their future together. He held him tightly, remembered his words firmly inside, and thought that he must let Xiao Xiao sit under the fruit trees next year to enjoy the breeze in the bamboo forest.
Such tender moments are often abruptly interrupted. This time it wasn’t Xiao Kai’s loud voice but Xin and Le who came to inform Lei Lu that the tribe chief had summoned the warriors for a meeting to discuss strategies for the upcoming hot season.
Wu Xiaoyin cast a curious glance at Xin. He recalled seeing this female once during a gathering day when he first arrived, and he sensed a hint of hostility from him. Glancing at Xin’s focused gaze on Lei Lu, Wu Xiaoyin realized that the malicious looks he occasionally felt while moving around the tribe likely came from this Xin.
“Why would the tribe chief send you to notify Lei Lu about the meeting?” Xiao Kai suddenly appeared, his straightforwardness still the same as he asked Xin somewhat aggressively.
“Because the tribe chief sent Hu Yi to notify my father about the meeting, and Lei Lu was the next one to be notified. I happened to be going out for a walk, so I took the job.” Xin explained and looked at Lei Lu.
Seeing Xin looking at Lei Lu as if he wanted to stick to him, Xiao Kai couldn’t help but say, “What are you looking at? Don’t get any funny ideas. Lei Lu is Xiao Xiao’s.”
Then he waved his fist, indicating that disobedience would lead to being beaten.
Bin pulled Xiao Kai’s fist down and said, “Since you’ve already notified him, you can go now. We still have things to discuss with Lei Lu and Xiao Xiao.”
Xin shot one last glance at Lei Lu reluctantly and noticed that his attention was fixed on Wu Xiaoyin. He felt angry and dragged the silent Le away.
