“Dance teacher?” Jiang Jiaotao’s smile held an indescribable quality—a hint of sarcasm, perhaps disdain, yet also a sense of detachment upon closer inspection.

Bian Yingning, sensing she might have struck a nerve, wisely remained silent.

“Being a dance teacher isn’t just about knowing how to dance,” Jiang Jiaotao ultimately said, offering no further explanation.

They sat on the floor, the setting sun casting its final rays, a peaceful tranquility settling over the small dance studio.

“If you want it, you can definitely do it,” Bian Yingning said sincerely.

Many things had high barriers to entry, requiring good backgrounds and credentials, but she believed that with enough skill, one could always succeed.

“Why would I be able to just because I want to?” Jiang Jiaotao tilted her head, her alluring eyes holding a world-weary indifference as she looked at Bian Yingning.

Bian Yingning was taken aback, then frantically searched for reasons, “Look, you have such a great figure, you’re so beautiful, and when you dance, your movements and expressions are perfect, you can interpret a dance flawlessly…”

Before she could finish her gushing praise, Jiang Jiaotao burst out laughing.

“Hahahaha…” Jiang Jiaotao laughed, looking away, the laughter growing unrestrained, “Hahahaha…”

It was a self-deprecating laugh.

Her laughter made Bian Yingning’s heart sink.

“Are you only in your teens? Have you only been in this line of work for a short time?” Jiang Jiaotao asked.

Bian Yingning opened her mouth but said nothing.

“Little girl, you’re so naive.”

“Who looks at pole dancing without colored glasses? Do you think people come to watch me dance to appreciate art? That’s funny.”

Jiang Jiaotao took another sip of water, and Bian Yingning noticed a carefree air, as if she were drinking alcohol.

Perhaps the atmosphere was too quiet, bringing a relaxed melancholy, Jiang Jiaotao spoke more to Bian Yingning.

“You didn’t come to learn to dance to pick up a sugar daddy, did you?”

“Doesn’t it seem that way…?” Bian Yingning murmured.

Jiang Jiaotao looked at the disappearing sunset, unexpectedly showing kindness.

“If you want to settle down early, take your time while you’re young. If you want to rely on yourself, do it while you’re young. Don’t wait until you’re my age, having achieved nothing, and then start fearing how you’ll make a living.”

Bian Yingning frowned, “Haven’t you ever thought about settling down with someone?”

Jiang Jiaotao touched her face and looked at Bian Yingning, “Would you marry me?”

A bolt from the blue.

Bian Yingning’s eyes widened, and the room fell silent.

She admitted that Jiang Jiaotao was perfect in every way—beautiful, soft, and alluring when she danced—but her heart was a stagnant pool.

After completing her mission, she would return to her world. Everything here was a fleeting dream. Even if she didn’t complete her mission, she would die one day, struck by five lightnings.

She was a pawn of fate.

No matter how outstanding or attractive the people she met here were, she would only observe them with an appreciative eye, approaching them with a mission-oriented mindset.

“Looking at you like that, you don’t think I really want you to marry me, do you?” Jiang Jiaotao chuckled.

Bian Yingning stiffened her neck and lowered her eyes.

“I just want to ask you, would you marry a woman like me, who’s been in the nightlife for over ten years?” Though she was smiling, Bian Yingning felt a pang in her nose.

“Everyone has their own life path, and I don’t think people are different because of their jobs.

My hesitation wasn’t because I looked down on you, but because I was wondering if I was worthy, worthy of saying I could marry a sister like you, and whether I could take responsibility for you.”

Bian Yingning said earnestly.

Staring at her bright, watery eyes, Jiang Jiaotao reached out and touched Bian Yingning’s smooth face.

“Heh, such a little girl.”

Her palm, calloused from years of pole dancing, felt rough against Bian Yingning’s skin.

[Host’s Painting rosy Picture skill +10]

“…” Why did the system have to appear at this moment?

Jiang Jiaotao sniffed and stood up, “No one will marry someone like me. I don’t even know what I’m hoping for, even though I’ve worked in the nightlife for so many years.”

“Little girl, it’s better not to enter this line of work while you’re young.”

Bian Yingning knew what she hadn’t said.

Jiang Jiaotao, the chief pole dancer in the nightlife, sold her art, not her body.

Once, a boss had tried to force himself on her, leaving her bruised and battered. She packed her bags and moved to a new city.

“Alright, let’s continue practicing, otherwise, I won’t feel good about taking your money.”

Bian Yingning composed herself and stood up, “Or should we stop? Let’s go eat, my treat. It’s almost dark, what decent person is still working?”

Jiang Jiaotao looked at her sideways, “Are you afraid of pain?”

“…”

“I’m telling you, I’ve received the money, and I’m not returning it. You have to practice even if you don’t want to.” Jiang Jiaotao clasped her hands above her head, stretching her muscles. Her form-fitting clothes accentuated her curves.

Bian Yingning silently looked away.

Jiang Jiaotao noticed and scrutinized her, “No way, are you shy when you see me?” She walked over.

Bian Yingning stumbled backward, “What? That’s called being polite, okay? Haven’t you heard of ‘look but don’t touch’?”

Jiang Jiaotao stopped, “OK, then the polite little sister should come and learn to dance now.”

“…” Maybe I should just leave?

…

They practiced for another half hour, Bian Yingning’s ears buzzing, unable to continue, she cried out in pain, almost begging Jiang Jiaotao to let her go.

“Fine, let’s stop here today.”

Jiang Jiaotao finally relented. Bian Yingning, like a marionette, struggled to control her body, slowly crawling out.

Jiang Jiaotao had done everything to stretch her muscles, and Bian Yingning felt lucky to still be breathing, but her body felt foreign.

Looking at Bian Yingning wriggling on the floor like a worm, Jiang Jiaotao: “…”

Seriously?

Who is this almost thirty-year-old person?

After practicing, Bian Yingning didn’t know if she was sweating, but her clothes were soaked. She shouldn’t have tried to impress her by wearing black stockings; they were so stuffy.

Jiang Jiaotao took out a towel from her bag and wiped her sweat without hesitation, even lifting her clothes to wipe her chest and abdomen.

Bian Yingning, who had been lying on the floor for a long time, lifted her head and saw Jiang Jiaotao in the mirror, lifting her clothes.

Her back was a laced design, with only a few straps, making it easy for her to reach in, and the straps seemed elastic.

Bian Yingning vaguely saw the soft, white curves of her side.

It wasn’t her fault, she didn’t mean to look, she just glanced up and was surprised, not reacting in time, and saw a little more. Jiang Jiaotao didn’t treat her like an outsider.

But… below her chest, there seemed to be something red.

Just as Bian Yingning was about to take a closer look, she met Jiang Jiaotao’s eyes.

Uh…

“Your clothes are not only beautiful but also very convenient, hahaha.” Bian Yingning was thrilled with her quick wit.

Jiang Jiaotao looked down, thinking she was really interested in her dress, “Yeah, it’s a little troublesome to put on, there’s a strap at the back, loosen it and you can take it off.”

…She didn’t need to know that detail.

After packing up, Bian Yingning asked Jiang Jiaotao if she was going to the bar tonight.

“No, I told them I wouldn’t be going when I confirmed I’d be teaching you tonight.”

“You could choose not to go?”

“The bar’s program is different every night, not all of them have pole dancing performances. I go to see which private room needs me to perform.

If I don’t go, there are others, and they might even be happy to get more gigs.”

Although Jiang Jiaotao said so, Bian Yingning was still afraid she would go later. It wasn’t a big deal if she went, but it would be bad if she met the male lead.

So Bian Yingning enthusiastically invited Jiang Jiaotao to dinner. Jiang Jiaotao hesitated, “Where to eat?”

“How about Suowei Hotel?” It was a foreign-funded hotel. Nangong Jin was cautious and chose one unrelated to the Bian family. Hua Jiangrong and the famous director were meeting there tonight.

“Suowei?” Jiang Jiaotao frowned, “Is that the one with a 6000 yuan minimum spend?”

“I don’t know…” She really didn’t know about the minimum spend.

“No, I worked hard for two hours and earned 7000 yuan. I’m not crazy, I’m not going to throw money away.”

Bian Yingning: “…”

In the end, they went to Suowei Hotel… a fried skewers shop on the next street.

Next to the skewers shop was a shop selling spicy offal. Bian Yingning, who hadn’t eaten it in a long time, went to buy some. Seeing her familiarity, Jiang Jiaotao was even more certain of her identity.

—An ambitious little girl who wants to invest in herself and find a sugar daddy.

“Try this, the offal is quite flavorful,” Bian Yingning put the spicy offal in the middle and gestured for Jiang Jiaotao to try it.

With Jiang Jiaotao here, the men and women around kept looking at her.

She was stunning, enchanting, and alluring.

Although she was used to such gazes, Jiang Jiaotao regretted dressing up too much.

“What are you planning to do in the future?” Jiang Jiaotao took a can of beer. Bian Yingning had drunk last night and felt nauseous at the sight of alcohol, opting for iced tea.

“Take it one step at a time,” Bian Yingning answered vaguely, then asked back, “What about you?”

The sizzling sound of the oil frying skewers filled the air, various aromas drifting through the small street. Jiang Jiaotao rarely came to such places with friends to drink and chat because in the nightlife, there were only competitors, not friends.

She took a sip of iced beer and sighed comfortably, “Find someone to support me, save some money, buy insurance later, and I won’t have to worry about food and clothing when I’m old.”

Bian Yingning was unhappy, “You’re still so young, why are you thinking about your seventies and eighties?”

“I’m not young anymore, I have to rely on my looks to get some money from a sugar daddy, I have to prepare early.”

Bian Yingning: “…” She seemed quite well-planned?

“I’m telling you, that kind of thinking is wrong!” Tonight, Teacher Bian, the life mentor, would correct her wrong thinking of not wanting to work hard.

“Why is it wrong?” Jiang Jiaotao looked at her suspiciously.

“Let’s analyze this. What if the person you find is a fake rich guy? He cheats you out of your money and body, and then dumps you when you’re no longer useful!”

Jiang Jiaotao rolled her eyes, “I’ll definitely check their background before I find someone.”

Bian Yingning: “…” Check their background? You look like a fool, have you already investigated my background to the point of no return?!

“How will you check? People are so good at deceiving these days, they have all sorts of tricks, for example, me…”

“You?” Jiang Jiaotao put down her can and looked at Bian Yingning.

Bian Yingning puffed out her chest, “Yes, for example, me. Tell me your impression of me.”
