There was an incident where a boy harassed Sheng Fei. After being caught by Wang Guihua, she directly scolded Sheng Fei, calling her a cheap woman and a whorish shameless person, also loudly accusing Sheng Fei of just knowing how to mess around with men.

Afterwards, Wang Guihua exaggeratedly told Sheng Fei’s father Sheng He about this incident.

No matter how Sheng Fei tried to explain, Sheng He just wouldn’t listen. In the end, under Wang Guihua’s instigation, Sheng He even took out a leather whip and beat Sheng Fei.

At that time, Wang Guihua also hypocritically said that her father did it for Sheng Fei’s own good and such, but unfortunately Sheng Fei at the time didn’t hold a grudge and wasn’t very smart. After being beaten, although she felt a bit sad, she still forgave Sheng He.

Later, Sheng He also said that he did it for Sheng Fei’s own good.

Hopefully Sheng Fei won’t make mistakes in the future. The two perfectly demonstrate the “beating is kindness, scolding is love” mentality.

Wang Guihua constantly brainwashed Sheng Fei with this kind of thinking, seriously affecting her future life.

The reason why Sheng Fei wanted to elope with Yan Jinghong during that period was that she was forced by Wang Guihua.

Because at that time after Lu Yi died, when Sheng Fei wanted to go home, she was driven out by Wang Guihua.

After being driven out, she was at a complete loss.

The people in the Lu family hated her, and Wang Guihua didn’t allow her to return to her own home.

At that desperate moment, Sheng Fei coincidentally met Yan Jinghong who was the most outstanding man in Sheng Fei’s circle. Whether in terms of manners, appearance, speech, or conversation style, he was like Sheng Fei’s dream prince charming.

So Sheng Fei resolutely decided to leave with Yan Jinghong.

But the good times didn’t last long and Yan Jinghong eventually cheated on her with another woman.

This incident had an indelible impact on Sheng Fei. Now Wang Guihua still thinks Sheng Fei is still the same as before and can be controlled by her.

So she is merciless towards Sheng Fei. Hearing Sheng Fei’s words, Wang Guihua didn’t take it seriously.

“Look at what you’re saying. Even if we’re not blood-related, but in legal terms I’m still your mother, of course I have the right to manage you.

Tell me, now you’re just a servant in the Lu family after marrying into them, working like a cow and horse. Instead of working so hard to raise Lu Yi’s five children, why not just come back home and enjoy the good life? As long as you can come back home with Mom, I promise I’ll treat you well. I also won’t be partial to you anymore, okay?

You also need to think, can those five children treat you well? They are not your biological children. When they grow up they will definitely be a bunch of ungrateful people.

Those boys, they only have their biological parents in their hearts, and they definitely won’t be patient with you as their stepmother. In the end, it will be you who suffers. I say, it’s better for you to just come back with me directly.”

Wang Guihua was determined to sow discord between Sheng Fei and the five children.

Sheng Fei did not go along with her words, but sat on the bed.

After folding the clothes, she put them in the closet and reached out to snatch the shoes back from Wang Guihua’s hand.

“I don’t care how you used to think, but from now on, my things are not allowed to be taken by you, and you are not allowed to give them to Sheng Ting either.

Originally you said that a daughter who gets married is like spilled water that can’t be taken back. Now that my things have already been married off, they have nothing to do with you anymore.

If you dare to randomly take my things again, I’ll go home and cause trouble for Sheng Ting.”

“I say, aren’t you an ungrateful wretch that can’t be raised properly? I’ve raised you for so many years, what’s wrong with me taking a few of your things?”

Discovering that Sheng Fei seemed to be no longer under her control, Wang Guihua became anxious and wanted to make Sheng Fei look bad.

Sheng Fei smiled lightly and was not afraid of her.

“If you don’t believe it, let’s wait and see. It’s not you who has raised me for so many years, but me who has raised myself for so many years.

I dropped out of junior high school and went to work as an apprentice for others. Afterwards, I started working for myself. Everything–from my food, clothing, and housing to everything else has been earned through my own work. Have you ever given me anything?

You’ve given your daughter Sheng Ting everything, but these are all things I’ve earned for myself. You never raised me.

What’s more, the person who raised me was my biological mother. Didn’t she leave behind a lot of inheritance when she passed away? It seems like you and Sheng He squandered it all.

You two got married not long after my mom passed away, and my dad brought you into our home. Looking at it, it seems a bit suspicious. Could it be that you and my dad were already involved with each other while my mom was still alive?”

Since Sheng Fei was not the main character in the original book, there was no direct description of the life experiences and circumstances surrounding her parents.

However, from the clues in the book, Sheng Fei can speculate that original owner’s mother’s death may have been unexpected and suspicious.

Even if the original owner’s mother’s death was truly an accident, her father wasted no time getting involved with Wang Guihua and even brought Sheng Ting to live with them.

The fact that he treated Wang Guihua’s daughter Sheng Ting better than he treated her makes Sheng Fei suspicious.

“What nonsense are you spouting? Even if you’re not satisfied with me, you shouldn’t be saying these things.”

Hearing Sheng Fei’s words, Wang Guihua lowered her head and rolled her eyes, looking rather guilty.

Originally, Sheng Fei was just probing her casually, but Wang Guihua’s reaction seemed both unexpected and reasonable to her.

Sheng Fei stared intently into Wang Guihua’s eyes, and now Wang Guihua no longer had the mood to argue with her.

“Whether it’s true or not, only you and Sheng He know. Is Sheng Ting really not related to my dad? Could she be his biological daughter?”

If Sheng Fei’s speculation is correct and that Sheng Ting is really Sheng He’s biological daughter, then Wang Guihua and her dad must have gotten involved with each other 17 years ago.

17 years ago, her dad and mom were still very close.

Sheng Fei feels that there might be more to this story.

Hearing Sheng Fei’s suspicions, Wang Guihua glared at her with some displeasure.

Her tone was a mix of urgent explanation and dissatisfaction.

“What nonsense are you spouting? How could I have had any relationship with your dad back then?

Don’t forget, I only got to know your dad after your mom passed away. It was your dad who pursued me and I agreed to be with him.

How could it be that in your eyes, I seduced your dad?”

Wang Guihua lacked confidence when faced with this issue. After saying a couple sentences to Sheng Fei, she no longer wanted to discuss the topic further.

Seeing some other new and interesting things in Sheng Fei’s room, Wang Guihua really wanted to take them.

But realizing that she still had important matters to attend to, she suppressed her curiosity and decided to probe Sheng Fei’s situation instead.

“By the way, the main reason I came today is to have you come back with me. Don’t bring up other things. What’s the deal with you staying at the Lu family’s place without any status or identity?

Lu Yi has passed away. It may sound nice saying you’re the daughter-in-law of the Lu family, but bluntly speaking, you no longer have any legal relationship with them.

He’s already gone, so why are you still hanging around the Lu family? You should come back with me right away.”
