Sensing that Sheng Fei was looking at him, his expression faded. He gave her a casual sidelong glance, his eyes filled with disdain.

Sheng Fei was disgruntled. She knew that he was going to settle accounts with her.

So after finishing the meal, Lu Ting coaxed the five little ones who hadn’t slept all night to sleep, and Sheng Fei slipped into the kitchen to wash the dishes to avoid him.

She was thinking of countermeasures in her mind.

Even if Sheng Fei’s abilities were extraordinary, in this era, to be able to show her skills, she still needed a place to live.

The original owner was forcibly married into the Lu family by her stepmother, and the stepmother had long wanted to drive her away. Now that she was a widow, her stepmother would probably find fault with her if tried to go back.

Moreover, her biological father didn’t like her either. His heart was only for the stepmother and her daughter. They were the real family.

She couldn’t go back to her maternal home, and Lu Ting and the five little ones disliked her. Sheng Fei was anxious and didn’t know where to go.

But in comparison, she preferred to stay in the Lu family.

Now that she was a widow, no one would urge her to remarry. In the future, she could take good care of the five little ones and also solve the problem of old-age support.

The original owner was just too foolish. Sheng Fei felt that having children without giving birth was not bad at all! No need to go through the pain of childbirth.

In this era, the technological level was not high. For women, giving birth was like going through the gates of death, so there was the problem of saving the mother or the child.

Soon, footsteps came from behind. Sheng Fei recognized the sound as Lu Ting’s. A chill went up her back. She remembered the book’s evaluation of him, ruthless and unscrupulous.

In the future, he would be the rising star in the business world of  construction industry. With his unique vision and iron-fisted grip, he would seize one plot of land after another and build high-rise buildings, controlling the lifeblood of Yang City’s economy.

And those who had once opposed him would one by one disappear from the world, including his wicked sister-in-law, who was also the wicked stepmother of the children, Sheng Fei.

“Sheng Fei.”

He called her coldly. His tone flat, with no hint of joy or anger.

“I’m here.”

Sheng Fei found it unusually harsh. She awkwardly smiled at him, showing her eight white teeth.

It’s not that she couldn’t beat Lu Ting.

But now she needs a place to stay.

Lu Ting’s presence was very strong, whether it was his 1.9-meter height, his cold and exquisite features, or his bass-like voice.

Now that he was staring at her with cold, almost frigid deep eyes, Sheng Fei’s heart raced as she leaned against the stove. Her hands clutched nervously at her clothes, not knowing where to put them.

Lu Ting had a healthy wheat-colored skin, his forearms bulging, exuding a sense of power. His facial features were three-dimensional, his jawline smooth and distinct. Even his five fingers were delicate and knuckled like jade. His narrow and bright black eyes met hers, full of coldness.

“Sheng Fei, although you married my elder brother, now that he has passed away, your marriage relationship has ended, and I have the right to drive you out of the house.”

“I thought you liked my elder brother and would take good care of the five children, but unexpectedly you are two-faced, pampering them in front of me and then mistreating them in the next second. Tell me, how should I punish you!”

Whenever Lu Ting wanted to retaliate against someone, he would always have a casual manner. His words were terrifying, but his tone would be as casual as asking “What are we having for dinner today.”

And when the other person let their guard down, he would pounce on them like a ruthless wolf and bite their neck to the death.

Now Sheng Fei was the little lamb about to be bitten in the neck by the wolf. She gently bit her lower lip, her bright eyes looking at him, not daring to let her guard down.
