And so, Lu Ting nodded. “Since it’s a misunderstanding, it’s good that we’ve cleared it up. No matter what, we’re all one family, and we shouldn’t care about the small fight.”

He knew his mother’s character, but after all, they were his own parents. There were some things he had to give in.

Lu Da and Lu Sanya exchanged glances. He moved his mouth, but in the end he did not speak.

Seeing that her brother could still be patient, Lu Yang couldn’t help herself, “But Aunt said we stole their chicken eggs, and she want to search our home.”

Lu Xiaosi couldn’t speak clearly, so he could only say word by word in a slow manner, “Lu Jixiang always snatches our things. Last time, when Uncle gave Big Brother a new pair of shoes, it was Lu Jixiang who took them. Big Brother went to ask him for them, but ended up being scolded by Aunt.”

Lu Ting really hadn’t heard about this before. He only knew that his elder brother and sister-in-law helped Sheng Fei, so he thought they would help take care of the few children as well. But now it seems that was not the case.

“What did you just say? Why have you never told me about this before?”

He unconsciously furrowed his brow, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, with a faint trace of anger.

Lu Yang looked down dejectedly, “We didn’t dare say anything. If we did, they would just steal from us again.”

Lu Da went on to explain, “These are all small matters. The main thing is that Lu Jixiang said that if we went and told you, he would bully Third Sister and Fourth Brother when we’re not around, and they would beat them up.”

Lu Ting rubbed Lu Da’s head with complicated expression. “Don’t Eldest Brother and Sister-in-law do anything about it?”

Sheng Fei shook his head. This Lu Ting was really a straightforward man.

“Lu Jixiang is their biological son, how can they manage him? And even if they did, what’s the point? Moreover, they side with their own son. Even if we said something, we would just get scolded, just like yesterday when they fought over the chicken eggs. It was just senseless and unreasonable.”

Lu Ting exhaled heavily, “I never knew about this.”

Lu Yang shook his arm, “Uncle, you didn’t know. Last time, Lu Jixiang just yanked my pigtail, and when I wouldn’t let him, they bullied me. They even got the other boys in our age group to give me a hard time. Even the girls our age said I deserved it.”

“No, I’m going to go find them.”

The bottom line for Lu Ting was the five children.

Before, the clothes and shoes he gave the five children were all made in the county. These days, the styles of clothes weren’t much different, so people wore about the same things.

It was precisely because of this that Lu Ting had never suspected anything when he saw Jixiang’s clothes and appearance.

Now thinking about it carefully.

Whenever the five children said their clothes and shoes were dirtied or lost, Lu Jixiang would have new ones to wear. Could it be that Lu Jiefang and Xu Yuxia were really that generous?

He clenched his fists in anger, the veins on his forehead bulging, and he suddenly stood up.

Sheng Fei secretly gloated over the misfortune, but pretended to persuade him, “This isn’t good, after all, we’re all one family. If the relationship becomes strained, it won’t be good for anyone.”

The five children kept their heads down, no one speaking.

Lu Ting exhaled a thick breath from his nose.

“I don’t want to make a fuss, but that doesn’t mean they can bully others so much,” he looked down and comforted the five children, “In the future, if anyone bullies you, whether it’s an outsider or your aunt and uncle, you must tell me. Don’t hide anything.”

Lu Yang smiled faintly, “Uncle, you’re so good.”

“You are the few children I have, of course I have to treat you well.”

Sheng Fei thought to herself, leaves are slowly turning yellow, and people’s hearts are slowly turning cold.
