Transmigrated Into the Vicious Stepmother in a Historical Novel - Chapter 16
Sheng Fei sighed helplessly, “Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
When she handed the scented handkerchief to Lu Sanya, the latter’s eyelashes fluttered and her gaze hesitated as her eyes widened. Then she slowly took the handkerchief.
“This is for me?”
Sheng Fei nodded with a smile. “You all get one, hurry up and go to school!”
Lu Sanya angrily threw it down. “I don’t want your things, this little trinket is like trying to buy me off. Do you think I’m a three-year-old child?”
After throwing it down, she even stepped on it forcefully with her foot and rushed out in a huff.
“Sanya!”
“Third Sister!”
The other children took the handkerchiefs and chased after her.
Lu Xiaowu also wanted to run out, but was held back by Sheng Fei. “Don’t run, they’re going to school, what are you planning to do?”
Lu Xiaowu turned his little face away and didn’t respond to her.
Third Sister said not to listen to Sheng Fei.
Sheng Fei must be planning to get revenge on them.
The Lu family’s genes are good. These five little ones all have thick eyebrows and big eyes, looking fierce and strong. Lu Xiaowu’s eyes are round and bright and as black as ink. If he was taken care properly, he would definitely be fair and delicate.
Sheng Fei couldn’t resist and directly leaned in to kiss him.
Lu Xiaowu was dumbfounded.
Sheng Fei kissed him a few more times.
She kept kissing until Lu Xiaowu’s face flushed red, then she hugged him and picked up the backpack. “Your little face is so smooth, your skin is so good.”
Sheng Fei’s unsparing praise made Lu Xiaowu’s cheeks turn red again.
After a while, Lu Xiaowu asked in a daze, “Where are we going?”
It seemed Sheng Fei was going to take him out.
But Third Sister said Sheng Fei is a bad person, and wouldn’t let him go with her.
Sheng Fei explained, “I’m going to the county, and it just so happens you can come with me, I’ll buy you snacks.”
The words he was about to refuse were swallowed back.
Lu Xiaowu didn’t say anything more.
Sheng Fei ruffled his little head and carried him as she went out the door.
She bound Lu Xiaowu to her chest and walked all the way to the county.
It was the same spot as yesterday. Sheng Fei arranged her trinkets one by one and started calling out.
The neighboring vendor lady asked curiously, “Comrade, is this your child?”
Sheng Fei nodded with a smile, “Yes, these days everyone has to bring their children out to make a living, it’s not easy for any of us.”
“It’s really not easy, where’s the child’s father?”
At this, Sheng Fei’s smile became strained as she explained, “He’s been gone for a long time.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I touched on a painful topic for you.”
“It’s alright.”
The vendor lady was a kind-hearted person. Seeing that Sheng Fei was having a hard time taking care of the child alone, she pointed to her 10-year-old son and said, “You know, it’s not easy for you to sell things while taking care of the child. Why don’t I have my son come to keep him company for a while?”
Sheng Fei was surprised, “How can I do that?”
“No, no,” the vendor lady waved her hand, “Hu Zi, you come and play with this little brother. You take good care of him.”
The boy named Hu Zi scratched his head. “No problem.”
Seeing that Lu Xiaowu was playing with Hu Zi, Sheng Fei could then focus her attention on the stall, although her peripheral vision was still on them.
Today there were even more people gathered around. The old man from yesterday who had earned some money came back today and spent another two yuan to try the ring toss game again.
“Toss that one, toss that one, hurry up and get it in!”
Someone was directing him, and the old man, not letting the crowd down, threw the ring, but it didn’t get through. The nearby aunties sighed.
The old man was unconvinced and continued to buy more rings and keep trying.
It wasn’t just the old man, there were also several parents who brought their children. The children were clamoring to play, and the parents accompanied them.
TL: Sorry for the changing names, but this is what was written on the raw. It’s not exactly changing names, but adding Lu surname and combining the the last two words. For Xiao Wu and Xiao Si, it will become Lu Xiaowu and Lu Xiaosi. As for Lu San Ya, it will be Lu Sanya. There might me a possibility it would change if the raw told so in the next chapters. But rest assured that it’s the same, just the arrangement changing. Thanks and happy reading!
