Lu Jixiang was already angry, and now with his grandparents and parents all around, he also didn’t fear them. He directly shouted hoarsely, “It’s just what I said, they were unwanted wild children in the first place.”

The onlookers were surprised and knew that the children couldn’t understand these words, they must have been taught by the adults.

The gaze shifted to Old Mrs. Lu and Xu Yuxia. The sharp eyes made the two people feel uneasy, as if they were guilty. Even if they thought that in their hearts, but to say it out loud in front of so many people was really embarrassing.

Xu Yuxia was thoroughly defeated. She directly yanked Lu Jixiang, throwing out harsh words, and turned around to leave.

The Lu family members left one by one. Without any more lively scenes, the crowd dispersed. Sheng Fei took the chance to close the door.

Disturbed by their commotion, the five little ones slowed down their eating speed, especially Lu Da and Lu Er who participated in the fight. They hung their heads low, looking like they had done something wrong.

Sheng Fei sighed.

“You two come with me, the rest of you continue eating.”

Lu San Ya’s round black eyes were filled with panic and fear. She blocked in front of Lu Da and Lu Er to stop Sheng Fei. “Don’t hit them, it’s my fault. Lu Jixiang pulled my braids after school today, I didn’t let him and he wanted to hit me, big brother and second brother were just helping me.”

So it was Lu Jixiang who provoked them, Sheng Fei made a mental note.

She squatted down, and in that moment she reached out her hands, Lu San Ya’s body trembled, afraid that she would hit her.

Every time it was like this. After the main house finished finding fault with them, Sheng Fei would just lock them up and beat them fiercely, saying they were troublemakers and as such, and that it would be better if they died out there.

Unexpectedly, this time Sheng Fei just patted Lu San Ya’s little head gently. Her soft voice rang, “Okay, I won’t hit them, or you either.”

With that, she took the Lu Da and Lu Er by the hand and led them back to the room.

The two little ones stood in a row while trembling. They looked at each other, swallowed hard, thinking that their stepmother was going to punish them again.

“Hiss…” The cotton swab touched the bruised skin, and Lu Da cried out in pain. He stared blankly at Sheng Fei who was bending gently down to wipe the swollen redness on his arm with medicine.

Sheng Fei wiped while speaking, “I didn’t notice just now, it’s already swollen again… Does it hurt? If it hurts, just cry out…”

The scorching steam rushed into Lu Da’s eyes, and his eyes instantly turned red. “It doesn’t hurt.”

Seeing the pitiful look of Lu Da, Sheng Fei put down his arm and then applied medicine to the wound on the corner of his mouth. “If it hurts, why don’t you cry out?”

Lu Er pursed his lips, “Uncle said a real man shouldn’t cry from pain!”

Taught by Lu Ting?

Sheng Fei shook her head. After finishing with Lu Da, she also applied medicine to Lu Er. His injuries were not serious, so a simple application was enough.

Lu Er was always taciturn. Seeing Sheng Fei’s strange behavior, he suspiciously stared into her eyes. “Why are you being good to us?”

Sheng Fei paused, her beautiful and exquisite brows and eyes looking straight at him. “Is this called being good to you?”

Lu Da felt uncomfortable under her gentle gaze, as if he couldn’t bear Sheng Fei’s soft-spoken manner. He lightly turned his head away and muttered, “A weasel visiting a chicken on New Year’s, it certainly has no good intentions.”

Hearing him say this, Sheng Fei chuckled.

In the future, Lu Da will become a legend in the business world. The stocks he sees are all profitable, such a powerful big shot was also childishly naive when he was young.

TL: Lu San Ya and San Ya are the same, just Lu San Ya having complete nickname. Right, Lu Da, Lu Er, Lu San Ya, Xiao Si, and Xiao Wu are all nicknames. They have their own real names. Just like Lu San Ya, her real name is Lu Yang.

Lu San Ya:

“Lu” is a common Chinese surname. It is the surname used in this story.

“San” means “third” in Chinese.

“Ya” is a common name ending, often used for female names.

So “Lu San Ya” is a name that means she is the third child (or third daughter) in the Lu family.
