- Chapter 9 - Senior Brother, I’m Coming In...
A group of figures stood gracefully atop their flying swords, streaking through the sky like lightning at incredible speed. The sharp wind howled past them, seemingly tearing through the very air itself.
In just half a day, they had already arrived at the sect’s territory.
As soon as they landed within the sect, Fu Qingyin didn’t even have time to pay respects to the sect leader. Carrying the unconscious Tang Yu, he headed straight for Rong Jiuchuan’s courtyard.
At that moment, Rong Jiuchuan was lying lazily on his bed, dressed in loose inner robes, sound asleep.
The sudden rush of footsteps startled him awake. He blinked drowsily and looked at Fu Qingyin, who had barged in. With a helpless expression, he muttered, “Ahh, I swear, you guys are something else! Why does everyone treat my place like their own home? Coming and going without even a greeting.”
Sighing, he begrudgingly shifted to the side, making space for Fu Qingyin to carry Tang Yu inside.
“Let’s see, who’s the unlucky one this time?”
Yawning, he casually pointed at the person in Fu Qingyin’s arms. But when he saw Tang Yu’s breathtakingly beautiful face, his eyes widened in shock. He couldn’t help but exclaim, “Whoa! Didn’t expect such a stunning beauty!”
Hearing Rong Jiuchuan call Tang Yu a beauty, Fu Qingyin felt a surge of irritation. His brows furrowed slightly.
Carefully, he placed Tang Yu onto the bed, then turned to Rong Jiuchuan and said slowly, “Mister Rong, the Tianqing Sword Sect does not shelter the idle. Since you live here, helping treat our injured disciples should be expected, no?”
Rong Jiuchuan grinned, revealing a set of bright white teeth, and responded mockingly, “Ha! Even your sect leader agreed to let me eat and drink here for free. Why are you being so stingy?”
Fu Qingyin’s cold face flashed with obvious disdain, his frown deepening. He clearly wasn’t pleased with Rong Jiuchuan’s attitude.
Despite his displeasure, he restrained his emotions and lowered his voice, pleading once more, “Mister Rong, my disciple was injured by Sang Jingli. His condition is critical. Please treat him as soon as possible.”
Rong Jiuchuan rolled his eyes dramatically and grumbled, “It’s only been a few days, and three of your disciples have already come to me for treatment. There’s still one lying in the side hall, and now you’re bringing me another. Who is it this time?”
As he spoke, he unceremoniously reached out, attempting to pull open Tang Yu’s clothes.
Tang Yu’s mouth twitched, and he hurriedly scooted further onto the bed, stammering, “Uh… I don’t think that’s necessary…”
He couldn’t help but complain internally, was this guy serious? Stripping someone’s clothes the moment they arrive, how was that appropriate?!
“What are you doing?!” Fu Qingyin immediately grabbed Rong Jiuchuan’s wrist, stopping him.
“What do you think? Treating injuries, obviously. Let go already!”
Rong Jiuchuan impatiently shook off Fu Qingyin’s grip, rubbing his sore wrist as he grumbled, “Look at his body, look at his arm, he’s this badly hurt. If we don’t treat it now, he might as well say goodbye to that limb…”
Then he turned to Tang Yu. “Hey, stop squirming, will you? I’m trying to heal you. Why are you dodging?”
Fu Qingyin’s frown deepened. He wasn’t pleased with Rong Jiuchuan’s rough manners, but he held back his frustration. After all, Rong Jiuchuan was someone the sect leader personally allowed to stay, and his medical skills were unparalleled, even surpassing the sect’s own healers.
Taking a deep breath, Fu Qingyin turned to Tang Yu and spoke softly, “Yu’er, I will step out for now.”
Then, with a slight cough, he gave Tang Yu a look as if to reassure him before leaving the room. At the door, he paused and added, “I’ll be right outside. Call me if you need anything.”
Once Fu Qingyin left, Rong Jiuchuan lightly pinched Tang Yu’s injured arm and muttered, “You really got lucky, huh? Surviving an encounter with Sang Jingli…”
Tang Yu pursed his lips and sincerely said, “Thank you, Mister Rong.”
In truth, his injuries weren’t severe, just some surface wounds. However, his arm was swollen and bruised so badly it had turned a deep purple, making it look much worse than it actually was.
After some time, Rong Jiuchuan stretched, yawned, and lazily stepped out of the room. “Go in, your precious disciple is all patched up.”
Fu Qingyin wasted no time rushing inside, but as soon as he stepped in, he froze.
Tang Yu had been bandaged so thoroughly he looked like a wrapped-up dumpling. Strips of cloth covered him from head to toe, only his face and backside were exposed.
“…Master,” Tang Yu said awkwardly, forcing a smile.
Damn that stupid Sang Jingli! That bastard had beaten him so evenly that, except for his face and butt, not a single part of his body was unscathed.
“Yu’er, does it still hurt?” Fu Qingyin gently stroked Tang Yu’s head with concern.
“Hey, look, I’ve done my job. If there’s nothing else, take him back and don’t disturb my sleep~” Rong Jiuchuan, now leaning against the doorframe, spoke in a lazy, teasing tone.
Fu Qingyin shot him a displeased look, but Rong Jiuchuan didn’t seem to care. With a grin, he casually tossed a porcelain bottle to Fu Qingyin. “Once a day, for seven days. Keep it dry.”
Fu Qingyin caught the bottle, examined it briefly, then tucked it away. Carefully, he picked up Tang Yu, holding him gently yet securely. He nodded slightly to Rong Jiuchuan. “Thank you, Mister Rong.”
Then, carrying Tang Yu in his arms, he strode away.
Watching them leave, Rong Jiuchuan shook his head and muttered to himself, “Tsk, there’s still that second disciple in the side hall, but I don’t see him being this attentive. Hah~ some people really do get special treatment.”
He casually gathered up the silver needles on his table.
Ling Yan: =_= …
After returning to his own room, Fu Qingyin instructed Tang Yu to rest properly before finally leaving. Tang Yu watched his master’s retreating figure and secretly sighed in relief. He felt that Fu Qingyin was treating him much better than the original owner’s memories suggested. It was… unexpected.
Just as he was deep in thought, a sudden knock came at the door.
“Senior brother, I’m coming in!”
Before Tang Yu could respond, Shi Yunyi had already pushed the door open, stepping inside impatiently. Tang Yu rolled his eyes in exasperation.
‘If I had said no, would that have stopped you? Then why even bother asking…?’
