- Transmigrated as the Cultivation World's Heartthrob - Senior Brother Just Wants to Slack Off
- Chapter 8 - The Main CP with a Few Screws Loose
The grand gates of the Demon Palace slowly shut. After throwing out some harsh words, Sang Jingli left with his people. He must have made a miscalculation somewhere. Otherwise, how could he have just left like that?
“Tang Yu.” Fu Qingyin’s voice was unreadable as he reached out to take Tang Yu from Shi Yunyi’s arms.
“Master, senior brother is dirty… I should carry him back instead,” Shi Yunyi refused to let go.
Tang Yu, “…” Didn’t he just say I wasn’t dirty? A man’s words really are nothing but lies…
“It’s fine. Your cultivation is too low. You’d probably run out of spiritual energy before we even made it back to the sect. Let me carry him,” Fu Qingyin said, reaching out again.
Shi Yunyi pursed his lips. “Master, you just fought Sang Jingli for a long time. You must be exhausted… Let me do it instead. Besides, senior brother got hurt saving me…”
The moment he said that, Fu Qingyin’s hand froze in midair. He was caught in an awkward position, unable to move forward or withdraw. His expression darkened. Shi Yunyi had always been obedient, so why was he openly defying him in front of the other disciples today?
One of the disciples hesitated before gathering the courage to speak. “Uncle-Master, senior brother… Maybe I should carry senior brother Tang back instead?”
Fu Qingyin, “Shut up!”
Shi Yunyi, “No need!”
Tang Yu, “…”
Disciple, “…”
The two of them rejected the suggestion in unison.
Silence fell.
Stuck between them, Tang Yu felt like he could dig a whole immortal mountain out of sheer embarrassment. Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. “Uh… Master, junior brother… I can fly back on my own—”
Fu Qingyin, “No!”
Shi Yunyi, “Senior brother…”
Both of them spoke at the same time again.
Tang Yu, “…”
“Yunyi, be good. Hand your senior brother over to me. You’re reckless and clumsy, your senior brother is already badly injured. We can’t risk any more accidents on the way back!” Fu Qingyin’s tone became firm.
Shi Yunyi was clearly reluctant, but after a pause, he slowly loosened his grip. “Thank you, Master,” he mumbled.
And just like that, Tang Yu was transferred into Fu Qingyin’s broad arms. The moment he entered this new embrace, he shivered. Unlike Shi Yunyi’s fiery warmth, Fu Qingyin’s arms carried a faint chill.
Earlier, when Shi Yunyi was holding him, it felt like he was being scorched alive. Now, in Fu Qingyin’s embrace, the contrast was stark, cool and soothing, almost refreshing. Despite the intense battle Fu Qingyin had just fought, his robes remained neat and pristine, not a single hair out of place.
Even more surprising was the faint scent of mint that clung to him. It wasn’t just his body that felt cool, his very presence exuded a crisp, refreshing aura.
“Thank you, Master…” Tang Yu murmured cautiously.
For some reason, being in Fu Qingyin’s arms now felt completely different from being in Shi Yunyi’s. Before, he had been at ease, maybe even a bit shameless. But now? He felt like a startled little deer, barely daring to move.
Looking at Tang Yu’s pale face, Fu Qingyin’s eyes filled with guilt. He spoke softly, “Does it hurt? It was my negligence that led to this. You’ve suffered so much.”
He gently stroked Tang Yu’s back, trying to comfort him. For the first time, Fu Qingyin truly realized how much he had overlooked his eldest disciple.
“Master, let’s hurry back… I just want to go home,” Tang Yu said in a small voice.
Why were they still lingering here in front of the Demon Lord’s palace, having this heart-to-heart? If Sang Jingli suddenly changed his mind and decided not to let them leave, they’d be screwed!
Tang Yu inwardly cursed the main CP, these two were seriously lacking common sense.
“Alright, I’ll take you back for treatment right away,” Fu Qingyin said, his voice unusually gentle. Shi Yunyi’s steps faltered. His expression stiffened as he watched Fu Qingyin carry Tang Yu.
Tang Yu caught sight of Shi Yunyi clenching his fists. His heart skipped a beat.
No way… was Shi Yunyi jealous? Was he upset that Fu Qingyin was carrying him?
Tang Yu glanced up at Fu Qingyin, remembering how he had darkened earlier when Shi Yunyi insisted on taking him back instead.
So, both of them were jealous… Because of me. What kind of mess was this? How did he end up as part of their couple’s drama?!
Sure enough, throughout the journey, Tang Yu could feel Shi Yunyi’s gaze lingering on him, silent, but intense.
Yep. The vinegar jar had completely overturned. Seriously… this was absurd.
He had just risked his life to save the protagonist and gained some favor points. But now, just because Fu Qingyin insisted on carrying him back, it was all gone?!
Feeling Tang Yu’s tense body, Fu Qingyin assumed it was due to pain.
A soft spiritual energy spread out from him, enveloping Tang Yu like a gentle cocoon. “Tell me if you feel unwell,” he said, adjusting Tang Yu’s position so he wouldn’t strain his injured arm.
“Master, you must be tired. Maybe another disciple should carry me…” Tang Yu tried.
In truth, he could fly on his own. But first, he only had the original owner’s memories and no practical experience, he had never actually flown before. He’d probably crash. And second, he was supposed to be gravely injured. If he suddenly started flying around like nothing was wrong, people would get suspicious.
“I’m not tired.” Fu Qingyin looked down at him with a rare smile. “Yu’er, if you’re sleepy, rest for a while.”
Tang Yu, “…”
Yu’er???
Tang Yu was stunned. Had Fu Qingyin ever called him that before? He searched the original owner’s memories. Fu Qingyin had only ever used that nickname once, on the day of their master-disciple ceremony, back when Tang Yu was still a little kid.
At that age, it wasn’t weird. But now? Tang Yu was a grown man and Fu Qingyin had never called him that again since then.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Fu Qingyin asked, amused.
Tang Yu realized he had been staring, dazed. Seeing him in such a trance, Fu Qingyin chuckled softly. Tang Yu quickly averted his gaze, burying his face in Fu Qingyin’s chest to avoid eye contact.
That only made Fu Qingyin laugh again. His deep, magnetic voice rumbled through his chest.
Behind them, Shi Yunyi’s expression grew colder.
Had Master… just laughed? When had he ever shown such an expression before? Immortal Lord Qingyin had always been cold and aloof, strict and untouchable. Was it just his imagination? Or was Master looking at senior brother differently? Not like a master looking at his disciple… but something else entirely.
Shi Yunyi didn’t dare think further. Fu Qingyin was his master. If he ever developed such feelings for senior brother…
No. No matter what, he would protect Senior Brother. After all, the one senior brother liked was him. This time, it was his turn to protect Tang Yu.
