- Transmigrated as the Cultivation World's Heartthrob - Senior Brother Just Wants to Slack Off
- Chapter 18 - No Way, Is He Crazy…?
“Enough!”
Ye Wuchen helped Mu Xuan up and glared at Tang Yu in anger. “Tang Yu, do you think that just because you saved Yunyi once, you’ve become some kind of hero who can throw his weight around and do whatever he wants? You’re disgusting, just like a dog that can’t stop eating shit!”
Tang Yu. “???”
‘Wait, is this guy crazy…? Why is his temper so bad…? Does he get mad just from seeing me? Would he die if he didn’t go against me for one day?’
“Senior brother Ye, how can you talk about senior brother like that?” Shi Yunyi stepped forward, standing in front of Tang Yu, his gaze turning cold as he looked at Ye Wuchen.
“Yunyi, I know he saved you, so you see him as your benefactor, but that doesn’t give him the right to bully others as he pleases!” Ye Wuchen snapped.
“Senior brother Ye, there are other disciples here too,” a calm voice interrupted.
Ling Yan, who had been silent until now, spoke up. “Let’s take care of the important matters first.”
Ye Wuchen was quiet for a moment, suppressing his anger. He then turned to Ling Yan and Shi Yunyi. “Junior brothers, please help me settle the remaining disciples.”
Shi Yunyi didn’t want to leave at first, but Ling Yan pulled him aside and whispered, “Yunyi, don’t stir up trouble. If this blows up and the sect leader or master gets involved, senior brother will be punished.”
Shi Yunyi hesitated but eventually backed down. The two of them took the other disciples away. The moment they left, Mu Xuan started causing trouble. He had been quietly sobbing behind Ye Wuchen, but the second no one was looking, he stuck his tongue out at Tang Yu and gave him a thumbs-up.
Tang Yu frowned, not wanting to engage with this brat. Was Sang Jingli sending this kid to spy on him? Checking whether his “inside agent” was doing his job?
But in the next second, Mu Xuan flipped his thumbs-up upside down, looking at Tang Yu provocatively while mouthing the word “loser.”
Tang Yu’s anger flared instantly. This little bastard was doing it on purpose!
‘What, just because I haven’t exploded yet, you think I’m Hello Kitty?!’
Tang Yu grabbed Mu Xuan’s wrist and yanked him out from behind Ye Wuchen. “Mu Xuan, right?! You’re a demonic spy, and you’re still pretending? Speak! Why did you come to the Tianqing Sword Sect? Did Sang Jingli send you? Are you here to mess with me?!”
Mu Xuan stumbled forward, unable to keep his balance.
Ye Wuchen quickly caught his other wrist and pulled him back, stabilizing him. Then, he frowned at Tang Yu. “Tang Yu, there’s a limit to your nonsense!”
“Waaa… Senior brother… I’m not a demon… I’m human… I don’t know who Sang… whatever is… Why are you treating me like this…” Mu Xuan struggled desperately, his wrist turning red from Tang Yu’s grip.
Tang Yu’s face darkened. This little brat is trying to play the sympathy card?!
“Tang Yu! Let go!” Ye Wuchen forcefully pulled Mu Xuan back, but in the struggle, Mu Xuan cried out in pain, his wrist was dislocated.
Mu Xuan clutched his wrist, sobbing pitifully, his nose running and tears streaming down his face. Tang Yu suddenly felt a little guilty. He knew Mu Xuan was with Sang Jingli and just wanted to kick him out of the Tianqing Sword Sect before they could carry out their plans.
But now, it just looked like he was bullying a kid.
“Tang Yu! All these years, and you haven’t improved one bit. You’re still as disgusting as ever!” Ye Wuchen held Mu Xuan’s injured wrist, his disgust for Tang Yu written all over his face.
“What’s going on here?” A calm voice cut through the tension, silencing the argument.
Tang Yu turned to see Fu Qingyin standing nearby, hands behind his back, his expression indifferent as he looked at them.
“Master…” Tang Yu muttered, but before he could explain, Ye Wuchen spoke first.
“Martial Uncle, Tang Yu tried to kick out a new disciple without any proof. Not only that, he even injured him.”
Fu Qingyin walked past Tang Yu without even glancing at him, stopping beside Mu Xuan.
“Where are you hurt?” His voice was gentle, and Mu Xuan sniffled as he raised his arm. “Here…”
Fu Qingyin took his wrist carefully, his movements tender as if coaxing a child. “It’s just a dislocation. Bear with it, it’ll stop hurting soon.”
With a quick movement, he reset the bone. Mu Xuan’s eyes welled up again, but he bit his lip, holding back his cries.
“Thank you, Martial Uncle,” Ye Wuchen said, supporting Mu Xuan.
Tang Yu watched the scene unfold, feeling an inexplicable frustration. Mu Xuan really was a demonic spy, he wasn’t lying! Leaving this kid here would bring trouble sooner or later!
“Master! Mu Xuan is a demonic spy. I saw him with my own eyes! He was at Sang Jingli’s demon palace, I met him there! He’s Sang Jingli’s personal guard!”
Tang Yu wasn’t ready to back down.
“Tang Yu, if you’re going to lie, at least make it believable,” Ye Wuchen scoffed. “Mu Xuan is just a powerless kid. Even if Sang Jingli was desperate, he wouldn’t make someone like him his personal guard. His four top guardians are all powerful cultivators. Besides, Mu Xuan is human, not a demon!”
“That’s impossible! He clearly—” He was Sang Jingli’s personal guard…
‘Wait.’
Tang Yu froze. In the original story, Mu Xuan’s background was never mentioned. He had no idea if this kid was human or demon. If Mu Xuan really was human, then there was no way anyone would believe him now…
‘Shit, he acted too impulsively. But why the hell would a Demon Lord raise a human as his personal guard…?;
Tang Yu’s gaze dropped. “Master…”
Fu Qingyin frowned at him. There was no proof. And while Mu Xuan was suspicious, Tang Yu had been the one to attack first. So, he made a decision.
“Tang Yu, that’s enough. This matter ends here. Go to the Qingxin Hall and receive your punishment.”
If he didn’t punish Tang Yu in front of the other disciples, it would seem like favoritism. And if Mu Xuan really was innocent, it would look like Tang Yu and his master had falsely accused him.
Tang Yu, “…”
‘He really chose to believe a kid who just arrived over me? Forget it…’ Tang Yu kicked a tree trunk in frustration and stomped off with a scowl. But the look in Fu Qingyin’s eyes just now, it made his chest feel tight with anger and something else he couldn’t name.
In twenty years, this was the first time he had felt this way about someone. Maybe… he let himself get carried away by a fleeting illusion of care.
‘Tang Yu, you idiot. Next time, don’t be so stupid. This is just a story…’
He shook his head. Fu Qingyin was Shi Yunyi’s destined partner. No matter what, he shouldn’t have any expectations or desires…
“You’re called Mu Xuan?” Fu Qingyin gazed at the boy, who was still sniffling softly. His eyes held a probing look.
This child was indeed human, not a demon. But his aptitude was nothing special, just an ordinary person. By all logic, he shouldn’t have been chosen to enter the Tianqing Sword Sect.
Mu Xuan nodded, his large, teary eyes looking up at Fu Qingyin, his lashes still wet. He looked innocent and pitiful.
“Forget it. Tang Yu was in the wrong today. He has a bad temper, you’ve suffered because of it. Come with me.” Fu Qingyin reached out and wiped away Mu Xuan’s tears.
Mu Xuan glanced at Ye Wuchen. When Ye Wuchen nodded, he knelt down and bowed to Fu Qingyin. “Master, disciple Mu Xuan greets Master.”
Ye Wuchen watched Mu Xuan bow, his chest tightening. Back then, he had wanted to take Fu Qingyin as his master, too. But fate had other plans, he became the sect leader’s disciple instead, the highly regarded personal disciple of the Qingfeng Sword Sect.
If it weren’t for Tang Yu, the one by Fu Qingyin’s side now would have been him… Yet all these years, Tang Yu had held the title of Fu Qingyin’s first disciple. And remained utterly unremarkable.
‘What a joke. He schemed and manipulated his way into becoming Fu Qingyin’s disciple, what was he really after?’
