Hi! Thank you for reading!❤️ I hope you enjoyed it! (❁´◡`❁)

There was a moment of silence in the hall.

Yuchen Xianzun slightly lowered his eyes, “My unworthy disciple is young and ignorant, causing Martial Uncle to laugh. Moreover, this matter is merely my guess—”

Su Zhen took a deep breath, “—Guesswork, yes, because it’s all false.”

A moment later, she thought of something else.

According to the narration in the book, although Liu Yunyao went for walks at night during that time, she never encountered Junior Sister Yao, who had challenged her. Hence, she had not recklessly used her spiritual energy, and her master probably hadn’t been paying attention to her.

Su Zhen understood the reason.

Recently, the disciples on the peak had been practicing diligently, and her advancement had inspired many. As a result, more low-level cultivators had been coming and going at night.

It could be considered an effect of her rebirth.

In her previous life, Liu Yunyao hadn’t met Junior Sister Yao, Zhou Ziheng hadn’t come to the rescue, and thus hadn’t “discussed” the plan to assassinate their senior sister with Liu Yunyao.

Later, when he made this decision, he probably didn’t ask Junior Sister Liu for her opinion, just like this time when he pretended to ask but didn’t actually care what Liu Yunyao thought.

In her previous life, Yuchen Xianzun likely didn’t know what Zhou Ziheng had in mind.

But—

In this life, he knew, and that night, he probably knew she was nearby too.

So, could he also guess what happened afterward?

Did he truly believe Zhou Ziheng’s pretense that they wouldn’t make a move, or did he think he could strike first, or did he simply not care about the lives of these two disciples and just let them fight it out, with the winner taking all?

Su Zhen thought for a moment and suddenly realized she didn’t care about the answer anymore.

If this had happened in her previous life, she would have definitely confronted him and sought confirmation.

Now—

It didn’t matter anymore.

After all, he had never truly cared about her from the beginning.

“Senior, you’re so smart, you must know my master was just joking with me.”

As Su Zhen spoke, she glanced at Xiao Yu, “How could anyone trick me out of my sword? I must have willingly given it.”

“Oh, I see.”

Xiao Yu nodded earnestly, “Then I misunderstood. You and your master’s uncle must have a very good relationship, right?”

You big-headed fool.

Others may not know what’s going on, but how could you not?

Even if he didn’t know the origin of the immortal sword, this guy isn’t stupid. By this point, he must have guessed what was going on.

Su Zhen couldn’t help but glare at him, nearly opening her mouth to speak.

Yuchen Xianzun frowned, “Zhen’er, don’t be rude to Martial Uncle Xiao.”

Before Su Zhen could respond, Xiao Yu spoke up first, “This was my fault, why are you blaming her, Martial Nephew?”

He seemed to be holding back a smile and only looked at Su Zhen without giving the other person any attention, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have joked. Shall we talk outside?”

Su Zhen nodded helplessly, “Let’s go.”

She couldn’t stay here any longer.

She had barely taken two steps before her master called her back.

Su Zhen turned to look.

Xiao Yu happened to be standing beside her. Seeing this, he also stopped in his tracks, standing still without turning back.

The white-robed young man in the hall frowned as he gazed at them, his expression unreadable. “Martial Uncle Xiao, if my unworthy disciple has offended you in any way…”

“Stop.”

Xiao Yu still didn’t turn around, his gaze fixed on the lush green trees outside the hall, as he calmly said, “First of all, she hasn’t offended me, and she never will.”

After a brief pause, he continued, “And secondly, I don’t think she’s ‘unworthy’ at all. Among your many disciples, isn’t she the most outstanding one?”

Even though Su Zhen knew he was just being mischievous, his words were quite pleasant to hear.

However, thinking about the kind of people her fellow disciples were, this hardly brought any satisfaction.

Moreover, almost simultaneously, even before the thought fully formed in her mind—

Xiao Yu added, “Those other misfits aren’t worthy of being compared to her.”

Su Zhen looked up in surprise.

She rarely heard Immortal Venerables talk like this.

Even when they used sarcasm, it was usually directed at each other, not at their disciples.

For cultivators at this level, it’s not that they care about losing face, but rather, they typically only concern themselves with those of similar strength, so they rarely argue with juniors.

Of course, she hadn’t met many Immortal Venerables.

People who reached that level couldn’t be judged by common standards, and Xiao Yu was especially odd in every way.

Yuchen Xianzun’s face remained impassive. “Martial Uncle is jesting.”

He didn’t seem angry at all.

It was probably because of his half-demon disciple that he couldn’t really argue with others on this point, especially when facing someone stronger than him.

Otherwise, if someone asked to parade his disciples, he wouldn’t know how to respond.

But if it weren’t for Liu Yunyao—if Liu Yunyao’s bloodline weren’t demonic but from some other clan—then, knowing his temperament, he probably would have acted more forcefully.

Even if it meant losing or dying in a fight, he likely wouldn’t have been afraid.

Just like back in the Demon Realm, surrounded by several Demon God attendants, with enemies on all sides and death looming, he still didn’t bow his head.

Su Zhen watched coldly from the side and felt like laughing.

If her past self from long ago saw him now, swallowing his pride for Liu Yunyao’s sake, she would undoubtedly be very uncomfortable.

But after so many arguments in her previous life and the lack of pleasant interactions in this one, she was more interested in watching the spectacle now.

The jealousy, confusion, resentment, and anger had mostly dissipated.

There was still a bit left, but not much.

She also recalled how her master had hurriedly sent Liu Yunyao away earlier, likely to avoid getting others involved.

“…I’m not joking, it’s all from the heart.” Xiao Yu left that remark and said, “Martial Nephew, don’t you have something urgent at Weiyun Peak? No need to see us off.”

Then, he glanced at Su Zhen.

Seeing that they weren’t planning to argue or fight, Su Zhen bowed her head and bid farewell, “Disciple takes leave.”

The area around Mingxin Hall had several layers of enchantments, so ordinary cultivators couldn’t casually fly or teleport. Su Zhen had to step out of the hall, pass through the corridors, and enter the courtyard outside.

The courtyard was filled with rare spiritual plants, lush green trees, and jagged rocks surrounding a pool of hot springs. The water shimmered with a clear blue light, rising with wisps of mist.

The fog slowly spread, adding a touch of ethereal charm to the mountain courtyard.

When Su Zhen looked up, she saw a familiar figure on the other side of the courtyard.

A cold-faced young man in white robes was approaching, his expression stern. “Su Zhen—”

Su Zhen laughed lightly, “Senior Brother, you look so angry. Are you here to scold me?”

She had been standing next to Xiao Yu, but as she spoke, she walked forward, stepping directly in front of him.

This was clearly a gesture that she didn’t want anyone else to interfere.

Xiao Yu obediently took two steps back.

Jiang Wang did notice someone behind his junior sister.

The last time in the main hall, his thoughts had been preoccupied with his junior sister, so he hadn’t properly looked at Chaohua Xianzun’s appearance.

Now, with anger simmering inside him, he merely glanced over and didn’t pay it much mind.

He spent most of his time in seclusion, so he didn’t know many people on Lingxiao Peak, and not sensing any spiritual energy from that man, assumed he was an ordinary cultivator of the Upper Seven Realms.

Here, in Mingxin Hall, it was normal for such a cultivator to appear.

Jiang Wang didn’t give it another thought. Seeing the man step back, he refocused on Su Zhen. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Su Zhen chuckled, “Step aside.”

With that, she directly bypassed him and walked forward.

Jiang Wang shifted sideways and reached out to grab her shoulder. “Stop!”

Su Zhen quickly stepped back, “You looking for trouble?”

“You should apologize to Junior Sister.”

Jiang Wang’s eyes were cold, “This had nothing to do with her. She was even coughing up blood earlier—”

Su Zhen couldn’t be bothered to listen, “I don’t care how she cried to you. I never said she tricked Zhou Ziheng. That was what the Zhou family said. You’re welcome to go find those Zhou members and force them to apologize. Oh, I forgot. They’re all experts of the Upper Seven Realms. What ability do you have to force them? You just think you’re stronger than me, so you want to make me a target to play hero. Who do you think you are?”

Jiang Wang’s expression shifted.

He had gone to his master’s courtyard and saw his junior sister sobbing, even coughing up blood from old wounds, and in his distress, he had rushed over.

But in fact, Liu Yunyao had been crying the whole time, though she had only vaguely explained a few things.

Now, hearing Su Zhen’s words, he realized he might have misunderstood the situation.

However—

Su Zhen: “Get out of my way, or don’t blame me for being impolite.”
