This is a short fifty-chapter novel updating every other day, so you can bookmark it and follow the full run. Before I started, I checked NU and there was no listing at all, so I genuinely thought no one had picked it up. I only discovered another version after my team had already finished their assigned parts, so I couldn’t back out anymore. This was never meant as a snipe. Thank you for understanding and for reading with us!

Seventh Sister.

Jian Tongyao remembered everything.

The massive fire had finally allowed her to see clearly the fragmented images that had been flashing before her eyes like a broken mirror, and those blurry scenes gradually became clear and coherent.

She and Seventh Sister had gone through so much hardship to finally achieve a happy ending and ascend to the Divine Realm. Afterward, the little fellow Dingding also followed them up. The three of them often accompanied each other to visit other planes to experience different lives, but an accident caused them to be separated by death once again.

Qian Wanyu had spread her arms to block the attack in front of her and endured a heavy blow that destroyed both her body and soul. In the void, that malicious beast filled with ill intent toward them did not gain any advantage either. It was now imprisoned at the peak of Wuxiang Peak in the Divine Realm, enjoying the taste of fire and ice erosion day and night.

In order to collect all of Seventh Sister’s soul fragments scattered across various small worlds, Jian Tongyao had bound herself to this system that required her to capture the hearts of supporting female characters. Dingding had secretly followed her here, and she did not know whether the fellow had used a back door to become a system. However, the system’s performance was lackluster as it always dropped the ball at critical moments.

Jian Tongyao rubbed her forehead. It took a long while before she sorted out her thoughts.

“I want to file a complaint against System 1314.”

System 1314 remained silent.

A long silence was accompanied by waves of awkwardness. Jian Tongyao changed her usual soft temperament and became unusually aggressive.

“System 1314 goes offline every time I, the Host, need help. After the mission ends, when it is time for me to leave, it forcibly makes me stay in that world. It is irresponsible and inactive. It forced me to find ways to leave on my own, which caused serious harm to the Host herself. I should be compensated for mental damage and the sequelae caused, among a series of other compensations. System 5438 performed well before so I request that you immediately return the original system bound to me.”

System 1314 lowered its head in shame.

Chi chi.

It was that familiar sound again.

Jian Tongyao waited patiently. Accompanied by the sound that resembled an electrical leakage, a cheerful tune began to play.

“Dingding dang, dingding dang…”

The crisp child’s voice brought her a little bit of comfort.

“Hello Host, I am System 5438. My name is Dingding.”

Jian Tongyao considered for a moment and suddenly gave Dingding a difficult problem.

“Dingding, play a song that is most suitable for my name. You know how to do that, right?”

“Host, please wait a moment.”

Jian Tongyao waited and waited. She heard the chi chi sound again and could not help but feel terrified.

“Dingding, you aren’t leaking electricity again, are you?”

“Sister Jiu, Sister Jiu, pretty little sister… Sister Jiu, Sister Jiu, a blushing flower bud…”

“Hahahaha.”

The two of them secretly and successfully connected, making it seem like a secret code for an underground organization.

“Ding.”

“World transfer.”

Jian Tongyao felt much more at ease when she remembered that Dingding was by her side.

“This seedling is quite good. He can control earth, but he just eats too much. If you take him under your wing, he might just eat you into poverty.”

“Doesn’t the Taotie clan love to eat?”

“This appearance shows that his bloodline isn’t pure at first glance. Stop arguing, or you’ll wake Elder Jian.”

Jian Tongyao, who had already woken up, happened to hear this sentence. Aside from being confused, she also had the illusion of being burnt to a crisp by lightning. Fortunately, she was propping her head up with her hand. Since she had been exposed, she moved lazily and naturally.

For a moment, the surroundings fell silent as a cicada in winter. A group of furry little fellows below the stage shivered and stared in terror at the person above.

Jian Tongyao was puzzled.

Why are they looking at me like that? Could it be that I look very ugly?

That shouldn’t be the case. With Dingding, one of our own, guarding the gate, would the system find me a particularly ugly body?

Jian Tongyao did not believe it. She steadied her mind.

“Continue.”

Soon, the small beast they discussed as the descendant of the “Taotie” was selected by one of them for entry into the sect. Jian Tongyao took a careful look. The other party looked like a mixture of four different creatures. His appearance was truly ugly, but there was a faint shadow of the ancient ferocious beast, the Taotie.

Ancient ferocious beast?

Damn it, did I run into the world of the Classic of Mountains and Seas?

“Ding!”

“Data loading!”

“Loading complete. Host, please accept!”

Below the stage, a group of cubs were putting in great effort to perform various skills they were good at. It was like those singers on television programs performing their best while the teachers graded them. After various selections, those who performed excellently would naturally become sought-after favorites.

Among them, a bird with fully spread wings, only the size of a palm, became a favorite when Jian Tongyao accepted the world’s settings. This favorite walked with high spirits and her head held high. She was neither arrogant nor rash, and the flames she breathed out could circle the field three times.

“Did you see the five-colored clothes on her?”

“She isn’t from the ordinary Bird Clan.”

“What kind of eyesight do you have? That is obviously a little Phoenix. If she grows for another few hundred years, she might be able to accept the inheritance. In this day and age, there aren’t many who can truly withstand the test.”

The world Jian Tongyao was in actually turned out to be a cultivation world. Because spiritual energy had decreased greatly over the years, pure bloodlines of various races were scarce. Most of the offspring produced only possessed a portion of the bloodlines of ferocious beasts or divine beasts. After a few generations, the purity of the bloodlines became sparser, and those who could revert to their ancestors were very few.

In any case, any cultivator who could claim even a little bit of bloodline power would come to the Lingshen Sect to give it a try. They wanted to see if they could hook up— bah—be selected by the big shots of the Lingshen Sect to become inner sect disciples so they could enjoy better resources and ascend one day.

The owner of this body, Jian Tongyao, was a big shot who was only dedicated to cultivation and did not ask about worldly matters. Her appearance this time was only because the Sect Leader, her Senior Brother, had urged her again and again to bring her here. She was attending the Lingshen Sect’s annual important feast for absorbing disciples. In short, she was a mascot serving as a façade.

This was because she was the best fighter and had the strongest martial power in the Lingshen Sect, yet she did not like to meddle in others’ business. Everyone respected her, loved her, and feared her even more.

Everyone first glanced at Jian Tongyao’s expression. Seeing that she did not show any impatience, they planned to tease the favorite who was performing diligently on stage.

“Little Phoenix, which one of us have you taken a fancy to? We will give you one chance to choose.”

The Little Phoenix was still young. When she flew, she could only flutter like a sparrow. Under the pressure of several powerful auras, she could hardly fly anymore. Yet, her goal was firm. She fluttered, stopped for a while, and continued to fly upward. Under everyone’s dumbfounded gazes, she seemed to cross thousands of rivers and mountains before landing on Jian Tongyao.

For a moment, the entire venue was silent.

Good grief, her eyes are sharp. She fell for the Lingshen Sect’s treasure that suppresses the mountain at a single glance.

Jian Tongyao swept a glance over this bird seemingly unintentionally.

Ling Yan. The Daughter of Destiny. In the original world, she would indeed become her disciple, and her only disciple at that. With her help, as her Master, she would eventually successfully gather her bloodline power, become a high and mighty member of the Phoenix Clan, become the King of the Bird Clan, and have unlimited glory in the future.

Ling Yan was also carefully observing the other party. She emboldened herself to touch Jian Tongyao with her small head, which had grown a layer of soft fluff.

Jian Tongyao frowned slightly. With a shake of her sleeve, she sent this Little Phoenix, who was trying to curry favor with her, flying. Ling Yan looked well-behaved and already possessed half the form of a Phoenix. Her conditions in all aspects were also excellent. In terms of status, she was worthy enough to be her disciple.

There was only one issue. Qian Wanyu, that unlucky supporting female character, would eventually die miserably because of Ling Yan. Her bloodline power would be stolen, and she would die without a burial place.

For this reason alone, Jian Tongyao could take her little life immediately on the spot. Anyone who hurt Seventh Sister had to die.

A cold killing intent flashed in her eyes.

“Scram.”

Everyone fell silent.

Ling Yan was thrown directly to the edge of the stage below. She spat out several mouthfuls of blood. If her chest wasn’t still heaving up and down, they would have feared she was dead.

Everyone dared to be angry but dared not speak. The senior brothers and sisters who had thought highly of Ling Yan earlier did not dare to accept the bird in front of Jian Tongyao. The Sect Leader even winked at the people below until his eyes almost crammed, clearly indicating, Hurry up and move this bird who doesn’t know the immensity of heaven and earth away. Hurry, move her away.

Ling Yan was carried down, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief in unison. However, before they could fully relax, another member of the Bird Clan hopped onto the stage. Compared to Ling Yan from before, this bird was completely grey and looked like a grey dove. Only a pair of eyes were particularly bright.

“This…”

“Go down, go down. Any bird dares to run up here now. Are you not afraid of dirtying our eyes?”

“That’s right. Send word down that any member of the Bird Clan today doesn’t need to…”

The Sect Leader was afraid that Jian Tongyao would get annoyed, so he had decided not to let the Bird Clan take the stage anymore. No matter what bird it was, they would all be shut out. Unexpectedly, before he could finish his words, Jian Tongyao’s expression suddenly softened. She even beckoned to the bird below the stage.

“You, come here.”

Everyone was confused.

If eye sockets could drop to the ground, everyone on stage would be looking for their eyeballs all over the floor. It was all because this grey bird’s feather color was too ugly. It looked like a quail with mottled colors and was not outstanding at all.

Compared to Ling Yan, who had been blasted away by Jian Tongyao just now, it was simply like the difference between heaven and earth.

No, just comparing them felt like an insult to the bloodline of the Phoenix Clan. There was absolutely no comparability.

The little grey bird tilted her small head in confusion, looking stunned.

Jian Tongyao remained expressionless, but inside, she let out a scream similar to a groundhog.

Ah, ah, ah!

She had never seen Seventh Sister in such a form. It completely overturned all her perceptions. She was simply too cute.

Seeing that the little fellow was too small, Jian Tongyao stood up and walked down slowly, stopping in front of this young bird.

“Are you willing to come with me?”

Qian Wanyu took a small step back, looking warily.

The Sect Leader watched the scene in a daze and slapped the hand of the person next to him.

“Outrageous! This is too outrageous! Junior Sister rarely takes the initiative to speak once in a thousand years, yet she actually hesitated!!!”

Everyone was speechless.

They were powerless to complain about the strange aesthetics of their Little Junior Sister who was also their Master Ancestor.

Jian Tongyao was completely unaware of the roaring in the hearts of the sect members present. She almost couldn’t maintain her character setting. Seventh Sister’s little vigilance was worthy of praise.

“You look so good. If you don’t come with me, it will be very dangerous.”

Qian Wanyu, who had always been treated as an ugly monster and an anomaly by the Bird Clan, had eyes that shone brightly. It was the first time someone had praised her for being beautiful. The entire bird turned red, looking like a roasted squab. She excitedly ran in circles, chirping jiu jiu jiu. Finally, when she was tired from running, she sat remarkably primly in front of Jian Tongyao.

“!! You aren’t lying to me, jiu.”

Jian Tongyao was about to die from her cuteness. If it weren’t for so many people staring, she really wanted to hold her in her palms and kiss her twice. She praised her with a serious face.

“Of course not. You are the most beautiful bird I have seen in a thousand years. No other bird’s feathers can be as smooth and soft as yours.”

As she spoke, Jian Tongyao couldn’t help but reach out to stroke her gently.

Ah, this is my Seventh Sister. She is so cute.
