The Real Daughter Just Wants to Pilot Mechas - Chapter 154
“Little Eight? Little Eight?” Jiang Momo quickly called out at an angle where Lu Feng couldn’t see.
Soon, a drowsy-looking cat head popped out from the bottom of the screen.
[I’m here. Momo, what’s wrong?]
At the moment, it was overwhelmed. It had just gathered the former director’s blackmail materials and sent them to E Mingjun, only for E Mingjun to immediately start investigating the source, so it had to quickly erase any traces.
The Siamese cat licked its paw.
Back when it had first come to the Capital Star, it rarely took action without Jiang Momo asking for help. After all, it knew it would eventually leave, so there was no point in making her completely dependent and losing her initiative.
However, now that it had no intention of leaving, Little Eight decided it should start thinking through everything in detail on behalf of its human.
“Why weren’t you there just now?” Jiang Momo asked carefully. She felt like something was a bit off with Little Eight.
[I was upgrading myself,] Little Eight replied.
Just yesterday, after thinking things through, it began trying to take full control of the Federation’s surveillance system. That’s how it had managed to send the compressed file at the exact moment the President brought up a deal. But what was strange was that although the Federation’s surveillance system, known as Earth Network, covered nearly every inch of land, it had yet to catch sight of Yan Chang anywhere.
“I see.” Jiang Momo didn’t entirely believe the explanation, but she figured Little Eight had its own business to deal with and there was no need to pry. “Did you see what’s trending right now?”
[I saw. Momo, you’ve officially made it! I’m so proud of you! Just now, you were added to the newly updated history textbook. It says the development of the legendary mecha is a turning point in the new century’s history.]
Little Eight’s eyes sparkled as it stared at her.
Jiang Momo scratched her head awkwardly. “That’s not what I meant to ask about.”
[The former director of the research institute has been completely dismissed and the underground group organizing emigration has been wiped out. The public is now heavily protesting the new proposal on the StarNet. The Congress will probably reevaluate the matter,] Little Eight quickly aligned its thoughts with Jiang Momo’s and spoke rapidly, swallowing back the part where it almost blurts out its credit.
Jiang Momo nodded thoughtfully.

By the time Lu Feng dropped her off at the academy, Jiang Momo finally realized the full impact of the so-called ‘historical event.’ Crowds had packed the front of the academy three layers deep, carrying glowing signs and banners with her name. There was no space left around the campus to even stand.
She applied for Lu Feng to take the warship straight to her dormitory. But Ge Qing politely messaged her, saying that in order to ensure student safety and avoid stampedes, her classes should move entirely online for the time being and she should avoid appearing on campus.
Jiang Momo was both amused and exasperated when she got the message. Under Lu Feng’s gaze, she looked up and asked, “Can the warship fly to the Floating Island 2?”
She gave Lu Feng a detailed address.
On the way back, she received a message from Yan Chang saying he had forgotten to mention earlier that he had registered a few properties under her name on Floating Island 2. If she didn’t have a place to go right now, she could stay there.
At first, she’d found the message odd because why wouldn’t she have a place to live? Now she completely understood.
“Yes.” Lu Feng updated the auto-navigation system and the warship launched.

At Floating Island 2, Jiang Momo leaned against the warship window, staring at the exquisite artificial natural landscape below, and exclaimed, “Has this area not been developed? Isn’t it a waste to leave such a huge space empty?”
“I followed the coordinates you gave me. This should already be your property’s airspace,” Lu Feng replied matter-of-factly.
“Yan Chang gave me a park? There’s even a lake inside!” Jiang Momo froze for a moment and immediately opened her light brain to double-check the property details Yan Chang had sent her. “That’s right, this place only covers about 120… acres?!”
When she saw the unit following the number, her voice cracked from shock.
She looked over the documents again and again, her voice dropping as she nervously bit her nail, “Uhh, isn’t this a bit too extravagant?”
All she did was borrow an energy core for a while. The reward seemed far too much. The property might even be worth more than the entire mecha she’d built with that energy core. Yan Chang hadn’t struck her as someone that generous before…
Lu Feng looked curious but held back the gossip in his mouth. After dropping her off in front of the villa in the middle of the ‘park,’ he quickly took his leave.
Jiang Momo stared up at the enormous building. She hadn’t even begun to process it before Yan Chang appeared and clapped her on the shoulder.
“Hey, isn’t this our Federation’s big hero? Why are you just standing outside and not going in?”
“I’m still in shock,” Jiang Momo said, still looking up. “Living here without transportation must be exhausting every day.”
“It’s alright. This house isn’t that big,” Yan Chang said casually, also looking up. “Do you have time today? I’ll take you to the Yan family’s ancestral residence.”
“I’ve got time, sure,” Jiang Momo replied cautiously, “but why are you inviting me there?”
Yan Chang answered offhandedly, “I’ve officially taken over the Yan family now. Just consider it a visit to my house. Our library has a ton of ancient books and you can read whatever you like.”
