“Let’s not talk about this between family, shall we?” Jiang He cleared his throat.

Whether it was for buying a mecha or compensating for damaged materials, he had no intention of giving Jiang Momo any money. It was unnecessary. A waste.

As she spoke, she made a dismissive gesture. The mechanical arms descended from the ceiling, one by one escorting the four of them out, and the door slammed shut.

Jiang Momo packed the sorted materials back into the storage box and let out a soft sigh, then vented to Little Eight, “Judging by their faces, they only realized it was me after seeing me. Which means they had the money ready a long time ago but just didn’t want to give it to me. Always spouting ‘family this, family that,’ yet being so stingy.

“So they went to the high-end floating island for this too?” she asked.

Alternatively, they could claim that the full blame rested on Shi Qin secretly learning from Ge Qing without his knowledge.

In just two days, Jiang Momo’s head was stuffed with speculation and legal arguments. Finally, during a break, she left the conference room dizzy and went out to catch her breath, only to receive a message from Li Yu.

In the video, seven or eight people crowded in a corner. Two of them sat on a person kneeling on all fours beneath them, and two more were beating someone lying on the ground half-stripped, with their arms covering their face.

Eventually, the attackers seemed to get tired and straightened up to lecture the victim. While they were distracted, the person on the ground tried to crawl away, only to be caught and kicked down, their hair yanked and their head slammed against the wall. In the struggle, their skull struck a sharp corner with a heavy thud.

The screen jolted and in the corner of the frame, the young Li Yu could be seen leaning against the wall, smoking.

Jiang Momo’s mind buzzed.

It was the video Tang You had mentioned!

Tang You, Li Yu’s cousin, had told her before that he’d filmed a group of people bullying his roommate until he died. He had given the video to the victim’s family, only for Li Yu to chase him down that very night. Even the light brain he used to record it was destroyed. Now it seemed there really had been more to the story.
