The Real Daughter Just Wants to Pilot Mechas - Chapter 109
Jiang Momo noticed Yan Chang shaking his head like a little puppy and the curiosity in her eyes deepened.
Strange, very strange. Yan Chang didn’t seem interested in her personally, yet he was precisely attracted by certain traits she displayed. What was going on?
Noticing Jiang Momo’s look, Yan Chang hurried to explain, “Don’t get me wrong. I’m really not like that playboy Ling Yelin who falls for everyone he meets. In my whole life, I’ve only been moved twice.”
And that was the problem.
A thoughtful glint appeared in Jiang Momo’s eyes.
Until she figured out where Yan Chang’s feelings were headed, she needed to keep both identities tightly sealed.
Little Eight keenly sensed the change in Jiang Momo’s heart rate and immediately popped out.
[Is it possible that Yan Chang’s type is a strong, commanding, and dominant older sister figure?]
Jiang Momo: “Then what am I lacking?”
[Maybe it’s because… you’re not an older sister?] Little Eight pondered.
“Oh, right. No wonder Yan Chang immediately assumed the Mecha Queen was an older sister without knowing her age. It turns out that’s what he was hoping for.”
The more Jiang Momo thought about it, the more it made sense. She let out a big sigh of relief.
When it came to deduction, Little Eight was unbeatable!
“I definitely believe you!” Jiang Momo bumped Yan Chang’s shoulder with a grin.
As they walked side by side, Jiang Momo suddenly felt a noticeable gaze. She glanced behind a nearby tree and caught a glimpse of a green hair tip that wasn’t fully concealed.
“What are you looking at?” Yan Chang followed Jiang Momo’s line of sight but saw nothing from his angle.
Jiang Momo retracted her gaze. “Nothing, I must have been mistaken.”
If E Mingjun didn’t approach her immediately, it meant he didn’t want to be seen.
“Really?” Yan Chang scratched the back of his head. “Your look just now made me think you saw Tutor E again.”
Yan Chang had always supported E Mingjun and Jiang Momo being together. After all, he had known E Mingjun for so long and the guy had always been like an emotionless rock. Now that he finally had a preference, Yan Chang naturally wanted to encourage it.
“Is the way I look at E Mingjun different than the way I look at others?” Jiang Momo had never noticed it herself and she asked curiously.
“Yeah.” Yan Chang nodded confidently.
Actually, Yan Chang couldn’t really tell whether it was different or not. But since Jiang Momo had no way of disproving it, it didn’t matter.
Hearing Yan Chang’s words, Jiang Momo’s heart skipped a beat. She mumbled silently, “Could it be that I actually have feelings for E Mingjun? This situation is just like that novel I read before…”
[No, Yan Chang is just talking nonsense,] Little Eight denied it outright and then played a recording of Jiang Momo’s recent selfie for her to see.
After watching herself for a second, Jiang Momo confirmed that Yan Chang was indeed talking nonsense and clicked her tongue softly.
“So, did you really see Tutor E just now?” Yan Chang took a step closer next to her and tried to look from Jiang Momo’s angle but there was nothing there.
While they were talking, E Mingjun had already left.
“Nothing’s there, so you must have seen wrong.” Jiang Momo slapped Yan Chang on the back of his head and walked off.
Covering his head, Yan Chang hurried to catch up. “I was just joking to lighten the mood, Master. You’ve gotten more violent lately.”

The Federation celebrated the Alien Beast War Victory Memorial Day with an eight-day holiday. On the first day, after the military’s live combat drills, a newly launched simulation battle game sparked unprecedented excitement throughout the Federation. Even the latest drama Jiang Momo was following featured a scene where the leads bonded over fighting alien beasts in the simulation.
Wearing a bear-patterned pajama and leaning against the bed, Jiang Momo munched on snacks while pointing at the large screen in the distance. “You can tell this scene was face-swapped. The body movements and facial muscle shifts don’t match.
“Sigh, whenever a drama enters a field I’m familiar with, I just can’t enjoy it anymore. The plot feels too forced.” Jiang Momo shook her head.
Just then, a mechanical voice sounded.
[Beep. You have mail. Would you like to sign for it?]
“Sign for it,” Jiang Momo said.
The next second, a mechanical arm extended from the lift and handed her a letter.
Jiang Momo glanced at it and recognized the familiar handwriting.
“Another invitation so soon? I thought after the way I snubbed them last time, they’d hold off for a while.”
[They probably couldn’t wait. Recently, some new videos surfaced on the Star Network accusing the Jiang family, although they were quickly buried under the game hype. Still, just dealing with this mess must be stressing them out,] Little Eight said.
“Good, let them stress. Ideally, they’d be so anxious they hand over the shares directly.” Jiang Momo jumped up to change clothes.

This time, it was Jiang Zhang and Jiang Yingying who came to pick her up from the school gate. The only difference was their noticeably improved attitude.
After Jiang Momo boarded the spaceship at their invitation, Jiang Zhang personally served her tea, which she took and placed on the table.
“Did Mom miss me again?” Jiang Momo asked.
Caught off guard by her directness, Jiang Zhang hesitated before nodding. “Mom made a table full of your favorite dishes today.”
Jiang Momo didn’t believe it. She never found anything she truly liked to eat at the Jiang family’s place.
Soon, the spaceship landed in front of the Jiang family’s villa on Floating Island No. 76. This time, Jiang He and Jiang Xian quickly walked out of the villa and stood in the yard to greet Jiang Momo who had just disembarked from the ship.
Jiang Xian eagerly welcomed her. Holding Jiang Momo’s hand, she warmly said, “Momo, you’re here.”
But Jiang Momo’s attention was not on Jiang Xian. She was instead focused on Jiang He who was sitting in a wheelchair.
“Your father had a minor traffic accident yesterday. It was nothing serious,” Jiang Xian said. “We suspect it was an enemy and we’ve already contained the news.”
“Oh.” Jiang Momo looked away. “Eldest Brother said you made a table full of dishes?”
“Yes.” Jiang Xian led her inside. “All your favorites.”
Jiang Momo lowered her gaze to her wrist, which Jiang Xian was holding, and followed her to the dining room. She glanced at the dishes on the table and realized they were those she preferred when she had just joined the Jiang family.
However, so much time had passed since then and she had tasted so many delicacies. Jiang Momo could now honestly say none of the dishes served by the Jiang family truly suited her taste anymore. She either disliked one or was indifferent to another.
Jiang Xian did not notice Jiang Momo’s expression. She led Jiang Momo to sit next to her and picked up the food for her. “Eat more. Last time we met, I noticed that you’ve lost a little weight. Were you not used to the food outside?”
“I’m used to it now,” Jiang Momo responded.
Jiang Yuan left his room and came downstairs. “Of course she’s used to it. She’s got noble status, wealth, and fame now. She’s doing well, so why would she need our concern?”
Jiang He angrily slapped the wheelchair’s armrest and ordered, “Jiang Yuan! Go back to your room and reflect! Who told you to come out?!”
Jiang Yuan snorted and left, leaving Jiang Momo puzzled.
What’s their strategy this time?
“Momo, we’ve reflected a lot lately. It was our fault for being too harsh before. Whether you acknowledge us or not, we understand. We called you back mainly to give you your rightful shares and make up for our mistakes.”
“And in return?” Jiang Momo asked indifferently. “What do I need to do?”
Jiang Xian and Jiang He exchanged glances, hesitating a bit, then gritted their teeth and said, “Nothing.”
“How many shares?” Jiang Momo asked.
Jiang Xian held up three fingers.
“30%?” Jiang Momo asked.
“3%,” Jiang Xian replied.
Jiang Momo: “?”
“Only that much?”
If that’s how it was, then it wouldn’t work!
Jiang Momo had originally prepared to receive the shares, fake feeling moved and willingly help the entire Jiang family apply for noble status, then stage a ‘happy reunion ending’ to take over the factory with the energy core.
Jiang Xian tightened her grip on Jiang Momo’s hand and, with some difficulty, said, “That’s all the shares Jiang Yingying has.”
“Give me Jiang Yuan’s too and I’ll help you apply for noble status,” Jiang Momo said directly.
Jiang Xian hesitated. “If we do that, Jiang Yuan will raise hell.”
Jiang He spoke up, “How about this? The Jiang family still has some factories, built entirely with our own investment. We can transfer them all to you.”
Jiang Xian restrained herself from turning to look and smiled in agreement. “These factories are quite profitable.”
Jiang Momo thought for a moment and reluctantly asked, “How much profit per year?”
“The net profit easily exceeds ten million,” Jiang He quickly added, seeing the opportunity to offload a ticking time bomb.
Of course, the key materials from the factories wouldn’t be handed over to Jiang Momo. They would be moved to a safe place before the property transfer.
“I’ll file the application when I return from my break but I want to inspect the factories first,” Jiang Momo said.
Naturally, she had no intention of actually taking over the factories. She just wanted to take some energy core during the inspection without letting the Jiang family notice.
“Alright, you can go back and pack up first. We’ll set out tomorrow,” Jiang He decided.
“No need to pack anything, let’s leave now,” Jiang Momo said with a bright smile. “I’ve always been curious about our family business and I’m a bit impatient.”
Jiang He hesitated for a moment and then nodded. “Alright. There are some of Yingying’s clothes on the ship and they should fit you. She’s gained a lot of weight recently.”
Jiang Momo nodded, stood up, and walked out the door.
Jiang He maneuvered his wheelchair to follow her and the rest of the Jiang family stood up silently. No one mentioned the food left untouched on the table.
As they reached the front yard, Jiang Momo suddenly felt a chill on her forehead and instinctively looked up toward the large banyan tree on the right in front of the house.
The third vice-captain looking through the scope suddenly met Jiang Momo’s gaze and immediately lowered his gun. “What’s going on? Why is the future madam here? I have to report to the captain right away.”
