Little Eight was puzzled.

When Jiang Momo first used her mental power on a large scale, it led to bleeding from her eyes. Little Eight had silently recorded that critical value to remind her if she ever reached that limit again.

However, unexpectedly, Jiang Momo’s mental power had already far exceeded the previous limit, yet her physical condition remained stable without any signs of collapse.

Of course, Jiang Momo could feel her own state. Apart from slight dizziness, she didn’t experience any other negative effects, so she focused all her attention on commanding the battle.

Back when she faced the alien beasts on the desolate planet, Jiang Momo often felt powerless, like two fists were not enough against so many enemies because the number of alien beasts was too overwhelming.

At one point, she even considered creating combat robots to help her but after trying, she found that the effort required to build robots didn’t match their capabilities. It was much more reliable to fight the alien beasts herself.

Now, with those disciplined soldiers, it was like fulfilling a childhood dream.

The live chat comments flew by quickly.

[What’s going on? Why can’t I see her hands on the screen? Is she inputting commands with mental power?]

[This is amazing! As a spectator, even I can barely keep up with the command updates.]

[The combat power of the Central Star System’s soldiers isn’t as weak as the rumors suggest. It’s pretty impressive. They’re almost on par with the Border Star System.]

[So, who’s the commanding general? The Central Star System has seven female generals and three of them have other events today.]

Jiang Momo didn’t have time to check the comments but Little Eight took note of everyone’s remarks and felt a bit anxious. It wanted to advise Jiang Momo not to be too conspicuous. Being overly exposed to the public could limit her actions within the Jiang family.

Before Little Eight could speak, Jiang Momo’s command speed slowed down.

The sudden change caused the soldiers, who had adapted to her offensive rhythm, to become disorganized. The battlefield started to shift. As more alien beasts landed on the planet, they gradually gained the upper hand.

Lu Feng, who was moving around to support, realized that he couldn’t turn the tide and opened a communication channel with the command system.

“What’s going on?”

“My mental power is running low,” Jiang Momo assessed. Just now, she had used about one-tenth of her mental power, roughly reaching the peak level of a typical SSS-rank.

She kept in mind what Ge Qing had said before about not letting others know that her mental power was special, so she didn’t plan to display too much.

Jiang Momo glanced at the live comments. Lu Feng’s voice wasn’t muted by the system, making it almost certain that the commander was of a higher rank than a major general.

“Mental power running low? Can you hold on a bit longer? At least command them to retreat safely,” Lu Feng said in a deep voice, pushing away an alien beast’s claw reaching for a subordinate.

Jiang Momo sighed, “I can, but don’t you think there are too few people in the Central Star System who can kill alien beasts? It’s such a rare training opportunity…”

“People need to stay alive to improve,” Lu Feng insisted. “Retreat.”

Jiang Momo hesitated. Originally, she thought that after she stopped commanding, those specially selected and trained soldiers would have their fighting spirit ignited by real combat, quickly improving their skills and showcasing the Federation Army’s strength.

“It’s such a waste to see these carefully selected talents end up like this,” Jiang Momo muttered quietly. Seeing that Lu Feng didn’t respond, she reached out and pressed the [Surrender] button next to the command panel.

In the next second, hundreds of alien beasts fell to the ground.

The soldiers, who were struggling to resist, were momentarily stunned by the scene before quickly retreating under Lu Feng’s command.

Jiang Momo sighed and sat back in her seat.

Not long after, Lu Feng entered through the hatch and stood behind Jiang Momo.

“When you said ‘a rare training opportunity,’ did you mean…” Lu Feng hesitated, seeming slightly uncertain.

Jiang Momo lifted her chin. “Because they all have sedative devices implanted under their skin.”

She noticed it during the fight. A few times when the mecha hit the alien beasts’ weak points, the force wasn’t enough for a fatal blow, yet the alien beasts still fell.

“The Federation put some thought into making this drill realistic for the soldiers,” Jiang Momo explained.

“What a pity.” Lu Feng frowned, instinctively feeling disappointed.

“It has pros and cons,” Jiang Momo, now completely calm, supported her chin with one hand and consoled him. “To prevent actual soldier casualties, the Federation could only choose one of two methods: either sedate the alien beasts when they’re about to kill a soldier or lower the difficulty of killing the alien beasts. Most likely, it’s like earlier, where a seemingly insufficient hit still killed the alien beast, which could mislead soldiers when they face real combat.”

Lu Feng looked at Jiang Momo for a while and then suddenly smiled. “Thanks for the comfort.”

“No need to be polite.” Jiang Momo waved her hand.

She was indeed comforting Lu Feng because, regardless of the impact on judgment, if the soldiers could build confidence in defeating the alien beasts, it would be worth it.

Lu Feng sat down next to Jiang Momo, sitting upright with his hands neatly on his lap. After a while, he suddenly asked, “Do you want to join the army? Officially.”

“No,” Jiang Momo replied immediately. After thinking for a moment, she added, “I’m satisfied with my current life.”

She was already tired of living every day with nothing but fighting alien beasts.

Leaning back in her seat, Jiang Momo lazily opened her light brain and started watching the Border Star System’s battlefield.

After a while, she noticed something interesting, “The Federation Army is actually quite strong.”

Judging by the livestream, the Border Star System’s soldiers had impressive combat skills and awareness. If she had commanded them earlier, she wouldn’t have needed to use her mental power to win.

Lu Feng turned his head. “Yes, because in the Border Star System, each alien beast killed earns military merits and accumulating enough can lead to promotion without age restrictions. So their combat skills and determination are worlds apart from those of the Central Star System.”

This was similar to what Lu Feng had mentioned before but Jiang Momo hadn’t really understood until now.

“Little Eight, check the popularity of this drill,” Jiang Momo whispered.

Little Eight’s voice quickly replied, [The drill remains highly popular but your personal popularity dropped by half when you mentioned your mental power running low and by another half after the surrender. Now the discussion is minimal.]

“That’s good.” Jiang Momo felt relieved.

Soon, the warship brought Jiang Momo back to the entrance of the Jiang family’s villa on Floating Island No. 76.

“Wait, I want to go back to school,” Jiang Momo quickly spoke before the spaceship landed.

Lu Feng was puzzled but still re-entered the destination on the autopilot interface.

In a rarely visited corner outside the wall of Central Mecha Academy, Jiang Momo got off the spaceship and walked slowly toward the school gate.

Before she even reached the entrance, she saw Yan Chang leaning against the wall with a melancholy expression.

Raising an eyebrow, Jiang Momo walked over and patted his shoulder.

Startled, Yan Chang shuddered.

It didn’t seem like he was faking it, which piqued Jiang Momo’s curiosity. “What are you thinking about? So absorbed?”

“Nothing.” Yan Chang seemed a bit unnatural, turning around and saying, “Let’s go in first.”

“Are you really okay?” Jiang Momo followed behind, leaning in with a smile and asking.

Yan Chang shook his head but halfway through, he suddenly thought of something and asked Jiang Momo, “Did you watch today’s military drill?”

“I did! The Border Star System’s army is impressive and has great combat strength. The Central Star System is not as good. The soldiers’ individual abilities are too weak,” Jiang Momo gave a serious assessment.

“The Central Star System’s drill was exciting too, especially that commander. Did you see that commander?” Yan Chang’s eyes lit up as he pursued the question.

Sensing something was off, Jiang Momo subtly hid her hands behind her back and shoved them into her pockets. “Yes, I saw her. Right at the start. She’s pretty strong.”

Yan Chang sighed, sounding hopeless. “Can you find out who was commanding from the military side? I asked around and it wasn’t any of the generals.”

“Why are you asking about that?” Jiang Momo teased him. “Fell for her, did you?”

Yan Chang’s expression turned heavy.

Jiang Momo’s smile froze. “What about the Mecha Queen?”

Yan Chang’s face grew even heavier. “The problem lies here. Clearly, I know that the Mecha Queen can’t be from the military but because of the same feeling of being moved, I had the delusion that they were the same person.”

Jiang Momo gave an awkward laugh.

Seeing Jiang Momo’s obviously strange expression, Yan Chang instinctively shrank back.

What’s going on? Why was the master making that face? Could it be that she had a crush on him? But the master wasn’t his type…

Yan Chang shook his head violently at the thought.

That’s it. Falling for two people at once was already bad enough. Now he was getting narcissistic, too. His integrity was going downhill.
