Hi! Thank you for reading!❤️ I hope you enjoyed it! (❁´◡`❁)

The arrogant beastman, Feng Shi, was a first-class guard of Yinchen Hall.

It’s often said that wherever people gather, gossip follows—and with the beastmen, whose entertainment options were few, gossip had become a daily necessity. In fact, it was so important to them that it could be considered a cultural staple.

Due to Mo Hankui’s long-standing tolerance and the subtle influence of Feng Suiling, the entire Yinchen Hall guard began to feel superior, all because of Mo Hankui’s humble, self-sacrificing devotion to Feng Qingxuan.

Feng Suiling had fanned these flames, using his position as captain to instill the idea that anyone not of Yinchen Hall was an outsider with ulterior motives. Over time, this mindset became accepted, spreading among the guards and affecting their perception of others.

Even though Mo Hankui was the Master of Xingge Hall, and undeniably strong, the guards of Yinchen Hall saw him as beneath them. To them, it was only right that someone as “lowly” as Mo Hankui would pine for the hall master’s attention without ever receiving it. This belief filled the guards with a twisted sense of satisfaction.

I may just be a guard of Yinchen Hall, they thought, but I’m still better than the Master of Xingge Hall. He’s only impressive in appearance!

But then one day, Bai Meng changed everything, shattering their delusions.

In the past, whenever Feng Qingxuan was mentioned, even if it was to mock or insult him, Mo Hankui would remain silent, enduring the ridicule and continuing to look out for Feng Qingxuan’s interests. He let the guards act arrogantly without ever retaliating.

Then came the failed assassination attempts. The first squad of guards sent to kill Bai Meng and Mo Hankui was annihilated, to everyone’s shock. Then the second squad. Then the third…

Yinchen Hall suffered heavy losses, all because of the orders to eliminate Bai Meng and Mo Hankui.

The guards couldn’t accept this new reality. They refused to believe that the Master of Xingge Hall, whom they had always treated as a doormat, was actually powerful.

For them, it was all Bai Meng’s fault.

He had brought the change.

So, in their minds, if they could just eliminate Bai Meng, things would return to the way they were before.

“…You’re from Yinchen Hall, aren’t you?” Bai Meng asked.

“What of it?! Are you scared?” Feng Shi glared at him, his voice dripping with disdain. “If you kneel now, I might give you a quick death…”

“Wait! Don’t misunderstand me!” Bai Meng took a few steps back.

“No wonder I recognized that stench. I’ve smelled it before…”

“The unmistakable scent of Yinchen Hall’s special brand of idiocy!”

“You—!”

Bai Meng looked at Feng Shi, whose face twisted with fury, a glint of cruelty flashing in his eyes. Yinchen Hall was rotten to its core, and Bai Meng had no intention of saving a bunch of fools. But if they dared to come after Mo Hankui, he wouldn’t hesitate to cut them down.

He could easily guess Feng Shi’s reason for entering the competition—it was likely to win the title, then boast about being a guard of Yinchen Hall and humiliate Xingge Hall, claiming they were inferior.

That’s how it always is in their scripts, Bai Meng thought. They always come up with ways to disgrace Mo Hankui.

—But I won’t allow it.

Bai Meng gripped the hilt of his massive sword, his black eyes void of life, as though capable of devouring everything. He flashed Feng Shi a genuine smile.

—I won’t allow it.

“Fool! Prepare yourself!”

Upon hearing Bai Meng’s words, Feng Shi’s expression twisted with anger. Just as he was about to hurl insults, Bai Meng lunged forward, swinging his sword at him.

Feng Shi quickly dodged and summoned a glowing red bow. His face contorted with rage as he shouted, “Coward! You dare ambush me?!”

“???” Bai Meng was momentarily bewildered by the accusation. Without responding, he swung his massive sword even harder, cutting through the air with force.

“Idiot, watch the sword! Take this strike! And this blow!”

“Watch me swing in circles!”

The bow was designed for long-range combat, but Bai Meng stayed close, leaving Feng Shi no room to create distance or draw his weapon. Feng Shi was forced to dodge repeatedly, channeling his energy to evade the attacks.

Bai Meng’s sword strikes grew faster, and Feng Shi’s evasive movements became increasingly desperate. His body was already marked with several deep wounds, blood flowing freely. In pain, Feng Shi cursed, “You filthy bastard!”

“You idiot! You moron! It’s bad enough you have erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, but you can’t even fight! You’ve got a big head with no brain inside! You see your father and still dare not call me that! All you know how to do is talk nonsense!”

Bai Meng sneered, thinking, Who doesn’t know how to curse?

“You!!!”

“You what?!” Bai Meng’s sword whirled through the air, kicking up dust as he taunted, “Call me daddy!”

Unable to dodge, Feng Shi raised his bow defensively, gritting his teeth as Bai Meng’s strike landed. A tremendous force transmitted from the point of contact, causing Feng Shi to stagger back a few steps before stabilizing himself. His hands holding the bow and arrow trembled uncontrollably, already numbed by the impact.

Unfazed, Bai Meng pressed on, swinging his sword with tireless energy. Without relying on the Sheng energy that beastmen typically used, he continued his assault. The heavy blade stirred the air around them as he charged once again.

Seeing Bai Meng rushing toward him, Feng Shi clenched his bow, refusing to admit defeat. His eyes, bloodshot with rage, widened as black wings suddenly sprouted from his back, lifting him out of the arena and into the sky.

“What the—?!”

“Why is there someone from Yinchen Hall here?!”

The crowd erupted into startled murmurs. Upon seeing Feng Shi’s wings, Mo Jiuge’s expression darkened, and shimmering silver needles appeared in his hand.

“You’ve had your fun for long enough! Now it’s time for you to die at my hands!” Feng Shi howled in madness. His cover blown, he no longer cared. All he wanted now was to kill Bai Meng—the one who had brought shame to Yinchen Hall.

Hovering in the air, Feng Shi began teleporting rapidly, making it impossible for those in the stands who wanted to help to get a clear shot. His eyes were bloodshot, and with a deranged grin, he unleashed fifty arrows at once, all aimed at Bai Meng.

Bai Meng, still gripping his massive sword, looked up, his expression calm and serious. He had been about to face the arrows head-on when Mo Jiuge’s shout interrupted him.

“Bai Meng! Get out of the way! Those arrows will explode!”

“……”

Bai Meng glanced at the dense cluster of arrows flying toward him, his face still emotionless.

Exploding arrows? What am I even doing here?!

Maybe I shouldn’t have tried to look so cool!

I’m definitely going to crash and burn this time!!!
