The Prince Wants to Pair With His Fiancé - Chapter 3
“Uwaaaahh!!”
I cried out, breaking the silence.
Unable to bear Kaname’s sincerity, I shouted and impulsively threw myself face down on the sofa.
No, no, no, no!!
What is that! I can’t stand it!
Will my heart be able to take it? No, it can’t, it can’t!
An indescribable urge wells up within me and I can’t bear it, so I slam my clenched fists into the sofa.
Kaname’s words struck me.
His seductive appearance is a mixture of subtle sensuality, and the deadly lines he says without any hesitation leave me in agony.
Is there anyone who wouldn’t react in front of Kaname like that? No, not anyone. In any case, I can’t do it, I can’t stand it.
If I were fully matured, I would definitely be in heat. I’ve never experienced a heat before, so I’m safe, but when Kaname came at me I felt a thrill. I felt a slight intoxication, as if something sticky in my lower abdomen was being stirred around.
“ Aah, uwaaaah, uwa…”
I groaned softly, making inarticulate sounds.
I turned my body over to face the ceiling and covered my face with both hands, writhing in embarrassment.
“Um… Nacchan…?”
Kaname asked in puzzlement after I suddenly rolled around and screamed. However, once the urge arises, it’s hard to make it go away.
Calm down me!
“Haha… hehe…”
I tried to hide my embarrassment and calm my emotions but I couldn’t control them, and the corners of my mouth naturally relaxed in amusement, loosening a lot.
I tried to hold it in, but the laughter that was welling up inside me just wouldn’t stop, making the back of my throat tremble.
Anyone could see that he’s a top-class alpha, so it’s strange that he can only think about me. That talented yet stupid alpha looked at me confused.
“Nacchan?”
Putting one arm forward and leaning over me, Kaname called my name in a confused manner.
I could see his serious face through the gaps of my fingers covering my face, and even the way his soft, unruly hair swayed smoothly was beautiful.
“Haha… you really do like me.”
I stifled a laugh as I looked at Kaname; he was bewildered, his brow furrowed. We were having a serious conversation and then I suddenly started laughing. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to react.
“I wonder, are you messing with me?”
“Haha, my bad, I’m not sure…”
In truth, I didn’t really know what was so funny. This impulsive emotion I hadn’t felt in a long time felt incredibly good.
It’s hard to explain, it wasn’t rational. The truth is, I’m incredibly susceptible to Kaname’s affection.
His feelings of love, aimed solely at me and ignoring everyone else, feels like a privilege. It shakes my heart and makes me feel happy.
I don’t say it out loud and try to hide it by laughing, but I’m happy about his possessiveness.
“It finally feels like you’ve come back.”
Four years later, and that kindness makes my heart leap.
“Is that so…?”
Replying with a look on his face that says he’s still unsatisfied, Kaname gently ruffles my hair with his free hand. His long, slender, slightly knotty, beautiful fingers slide through my hair, sending a slight tingle down my spine.
“Yes,” I replied, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly.
I repeated that several times to catch my breath, then lowered my hands that were covering my face, and a smile naturally spread across my lips.
“Kaname, welcome back.”
He was back. Kaname was by my side.
It was a natural feeling, like something that should be where it belonged was finally where it belonged.
Just as the feeling of happiness washed over me, Kaname, as if sensing my emotion, took the hand that I had lowered and pulled me up.
“Nacchan, I’m Back.”
Kaname answered with a beautiful smile and embraced me gently.
🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪
After he released me from his embrace, I tried to calm myself down by taking a sip from the glass of iced tea, which had become a little watered down as the ice melted.
“So, why did you tell everyone you were my fiancé now?”
To hide my embarrassment, I crunched the ice that had flowed into my mouth along with the tea while glaring at Kaname.
There must be a reason for this, so I didn’t hesitate to ask him the question that’s been on my mind. Although it’s been four years since we’ve seen each other, we’ve spent a lot more time together than that. It’s like second nature. As time passed,we quickly fell back into our old routine.
“Huh? But it’s true, isn’t it?”
Kaname tilted his head as if wondering why he shouldn’t say it.
“But it’s not something you need to formally announce. You didn’t make a big deal about it in middle school, did you?”
“That’s a bit disheartening… I could have said it anytime. Actually, I’ve always wanted to tell everyone for a long time. Now I’ve finally been able to say that Nacchan is mine.”
He spoke so passionately that it made me choke a little.
Damn! If I’m not careful, I could be opening up a can of worms.
Truthfully, I was the one who didn’t want to announce my engagement. My preference has been the main reason for keeping it quiet until now.
My eyes drifted a bit.
“Ah, well, let’s put that aside for now. You never mentioned it before, so there must be a reason you’re suddenly announcing this, right?”
“A reason, yeah. Well it’s a pretty good one…”
Kaname nodded at me, confirming that there is a reason.
“Tell me everything. I’m curious.”
‘A pretty good one’ meant he probably had a few things on his mind. This was pertaining to me, so I want to hear it properly. I urged him to continue, and Kaname slowly began to speak.
“The first one was a warning.”
That was quite a scene he pulled in class.
Recalling his earlier actions, I frowned.
“You started with intimidation.”
“I think it’s important to be clear about our positions.”
It’s no use smiling cutely and tilting your head. Not wanting to be fooled, I put a stop to his antics.
“The thing is, you’re really scary when you’re serious.”
The pressure from a top-tier alpha is intense. As an omega, I felt like I was being consumed, completely paralyzed. It’s the same for the supposedly dense betas; they’re overwhelmed by an irresistible force that binds them to their will.
“But isn’t it the most basic of things to clarify who Nacchan belongs to and who I belong to?” Kaname asserts as if that’s the obvious thing to do. But I don’t think it’s right to make someone afraid of you. There’s a limit, you know? A limit.
“Don’t expect me to agree with you!”
“Nacchan, feel free to tell everyone about it.”
“Go to hell!”
“How cold…”
Kaname gives me a wry smile at my refusal. After all you’ve done, that’s more than enough.
“Besides, there’s no one who cares about a boring guy like me…”
“Let me just say this then.”
Kaname cut me off before I could finish.
“Listen, there seems to be an issue that you don’t realize about yourself, but Nacchan is a top-tier omega. You’re dealing with the Shinomori family, so it’s easy to overlook, but considering that the children of an alpha-omega pair tend to inherit the alpha gene, you being the third son of the wealthy Sasazuka family makes a lot of people want to jump at the chance to connect with you.”
“So that’s why…”
“Exactly! That’s why I’m blocking anyone else. The engagement is just one way to keep Nacchan from being snatched up.” He stated definitively.
I never imagined Kaname felt that way. Even when he talks about my worth, it still doesn’t quite click.
“Besides… we’re each other’s repellent.”
“Oh, of course! That makes sense!”
Hearing him say we’re each other’s repellent, I realized that’s probably the real reason. People are naturally drawn to Kaname. The Shinomori name is huge, and his looks and brains only amplify that.
I’ve been by Kaname’s side since forever, but I want to be more than that. I want friendship, romance, shared experiences. The constant swarm of admirers is incredibly annoying.
Over the past four years, Kaname has blossomed into an even more refined alpha, and the thought of what’s to come is daunting.
…But I’ll keep my thoughts to myself for now.
If my presence even slightly reduces the number of bugs pursuing Kaname, I’m not opposed to cooperating.
“So what else?” I prompted Kaname, suspecting there was more to it. He nodded.
“The second is rights.”
“Like I told Nacchan, the status of a fiancé will be crucial during your heats from now on.”
“Why?”
“Think about omega shelters, for instance.”
“You mean the one next to the infirmary in Nioumiya?”
“Exactly. They’re in public places too, but they’re safe havens for omegas in heat. The only people who can go there other than omegas are their alpha mates, their spouse, or fiancé.”
“Oh…”
Yeah, I think I remember something like that.
”If Nacchan suddenly went into heat at school, I wouldn’t be able to be by your side if our engagement was still secret and we weren’t officially a couple.”
To prevent the serious violation of human rights for omegas, shelters have an agreement that alphas and betas with no connection to them must not approach omegas in heat. Official laws have also been put in place.
Even so, it’s difficult to fully enforce these rules, and penalties are still weak, but rules are there.
If an omega goes into heat at school, the shelter will likely try to comply with the law.
” Ahh, yeah that’s true.”
“I can’t stand the thought of being separated from Nacchan when you’re in heat and not being able to be by your side right away. I want to avoid that at all costs.”
Kaname says this with a straight face.
“Therefore, announcing this engagement is my rightful claim to stand proudly by Nacchan’s side. I’ve dedicated the past four years to preparing myself to bear the responsibility of this right.”
“………………”
“During an omega’s heat cycle, only their alpha mate, spouse, or fiancé can be publicly by their side. Nacchan you haven’t experienced your heat yet, nor have we mated. Therefore, I cannot relinquish my position as your fiancé.”
“I see… I suppose so…”
Honestly, Kaname and I haven’t had s*x yet nor have I been bitten. It’s a completely platonic relationship. He basically claimed me as his fiancé to be prepared for the unpredictable ‘heat’ period, whenever it might occur. It sounds almost obsessive hearing him say that.
“The third one is self-awareness.”
He leaned in, as if to emphasize the point, when I asked how many there were.
“Nacchan, you absolutely can’t cheat on me!”
“Huh?! What’s that all about suddenly? Go dieee!”
Why the heck did he bring that up out of the blue? I snapped back, feeling totally offended!
“Yeah, I know. And I won’t cheat either.”
“Of course!”
His words were so out of place, I wanted to pinch his cheek. When I pouted, Kaname sighed softly, muttering, “I can’t help it.”
“Listen,” he said, “I really don’t want anyone else to see or touch Nacchan. I want you all to myself, I want your eyes only on me. I want to shield you from all harm, keep you safe, protect you. It’s an alpha’s instinct…”
“Just hearing that is a lot to take in…” I mumbled.
Kaname chuckled wryly, apologizing for the weight of his words.
“Alphas are like that, you know? I want you to be aware of that and act accordingly. I want you close to me, Nacchan, and I intend to eliminate all danger.”
“Ugh…”
“Until now, our engagement was kept private, but if I make an official announcement to the alpha/omega community, you’ll be publicly acknowledged as someone associated with the Shinomori family. Ideally, I’d also like to secure a trustworthy bodyguard for you.”
“Seriously? That’s such a hassle…”
It’s difficult to refuse when he emphasizes the importance of protecting me, both as a member of the Shinomori family and as his omega.
“This isn’t something you can just ignore as a minor inconvenience. Nacchan, you really need to understand how much you mean to me. You have no idea how incredibly valuable you are to me.”
“You’re overreacting.”
“No, I’m not. The fastest and most effective way to hurt me right now is to hurt you. I’d never let anyone do that to you, but the possibility isn’t zero, so I need you to be aware of that and be careful. If anyone tries to hurt you, I can’t guarantee what I’ll do.”
“Whoa, that’s intense.”
I thought he was overreacting, but his eyes weren’t smiling. The realization that he was deadly serious sent a shiver down my spine.
“It’s scary, isn’t it? I can understand how you feel, but if anything were to happen to Nacchan, I wouldn’t be able to bear it, so please give up on this.”
As Kaname said this, his eyes crinkled at the corner and his mouth raised up in a subtle smile.
“Those are the three main reasons we’re making it public. The rest are just minor details.”
“I see…”
“Besides, I’m back, and I’m older than I was in middle school, so we’re officially announcing our engagement to the outside world.”
It felt like there was no escaping this, and it was giving me a headache.
“That being said, I expect some of the Sasazuka Group’s shares to rise. We talked about this before our engagement, but I’ll have Saegusa explain it to the Sasazuka family again.”
“Saegusa-san…”
Saegusa-san, who came up in conversation, is Kaname’s personal secretary and bodyguard. His name is Tooru Saegusa. Another bodyguard, Masato Tokura, is also always at Kaname’s side; both have been with him since childhood. They probably even accompanied him on his study abroad, making them Kaname’s closest confidants.
“So that’s the situation. Got it?”
“Well… I guess I get it…”
“That’s splendid.”
Kaname nodded, a smug look on his face.
I hated being the center of attention, but there was no way out of this. I let out a sigh, realizing I had to accept my fate.
We got engaged four years ago.
Could he have been simulating all this from the very beginning? The thought alone was unsettling, a subtle constriction, like being bound by soft threads. I shuddered, staring at the empty glass on the table.
🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪🅪
“This is to announce the engagement of Yamato Shinomori, head of the Shinomori household’s second son, Kaname Shinomori, to Sou Sasazuka, head of the Sasazuka household’s third son, Natsume Sasazuka.”
The announcement was made to the community that very day, and the news spread rapidly.
