The Prince Wants to Pair With His Fiancé - Chapter 1

The long hot summer vacation is over, and the students drag their heavy, tired bodies to school on the first day of September. The second semester starts today at Nioumiya Academy which is said to be a school that the children of famous people attend. 

 

Opening Ceremony ~~~

 

At the same time, students were gradually gathering in the gym. Groups of classes were forming into lines, causing a bit of commotion. Amidst all of this, a gossip-loving girl proudly opened her mouth and spoke enthusiastically.

 

 

“ Listen! A new transfer student is coming to the advanced class today!!”

 

Hearing this, the surrounding students immediately joined in on the conversation.

 

“ Seriously?! What kind of person are they? A guy? A girl? ”

“ He seems to be a very handsome guy who looks like a prince! ”

“ Look, you were in the same middle school as him before, right? It’s that rich kid from before, Shinomori…”

 

As if to interrupt the conversation, the sound of the mic test rang out from the gym speakers. Looks like it was impossible to have anymore conversations. The students all turned to face the podium in unison.

 

“Ahem, be quiet. We will now hold the opening ceremony for the second semester for all of the students.”

 

As if to drown out the noise, the teacher’s voice came through the microphone to announce the start of a long opening ceremony.

“Aaaah, I’m tired…. I need a break.”

 

Mumbling to myself, I, Natsume Sasazuka, took heavy steps towards school, one step at a time. 

 

The Nioumiya Academy that I attend is a very famous school that combines both middle and high school. It’s said that enrolling in that school is like a status symbol. In addition to the bright and talented ordinary students, there are also a considerable number of children whose families are well-known political figures and business men. 

 

This makes it a great school for networking. For this very reason, the school has top-notch facilities and advanced levels of security, everything is very organized and fully equipped.

 

The school is conveniently located within walking distance from my home. If you’re smart enough to enter, there’s no reason why I should not choose it, and after passing the entrance exam, I’ve been a student of Nioumiya Academy since middle school.

 

And now I am a second year high school student at Nioumiya Academy.

 

Now, normally I would have arrived at the school a long time ago, but today I was so nervous that I couldn’t bring myself to go to school. Even though I knew I would be late, I kept delaying leaving the house. I also thought about asking my older brother to drive me there, but today is the opening ceremony. 

 

At every ceremony, it was customary to have to listen to a long speech from the principal. Since that was the case, I decided to slowly head towards the academy by walking on foot. But even though it was September it was still hot. I’m so bored that I couldn’t help but complain about being tired and wanting to rest. 

 

I clicked my tongue, regretting that I did not ask my older brother to give me a ride. With the hot sun baking me, I sighed again, thinking that I should just go back home.

 

“It’s hot…”

 

Even though it was still morning, the asphalt was sizzling hot. Although it was early, just before 9 o’clock, the sun was already high up in the sky. Perhaps due to the humidity, sweat trickled down my cheeks and dripped down my chin,  leaving dark spots on the scorching asphalt.

After the opening ceremony ended, the class was still a little chaotic. Then the classroom door suddenly opened.

 

“Oh, Morning. Everyone take your seats.”

 

The homeroom teacher came in saying this and placed the notebook on the desk with a resounding thud. He watched as the students sat down, then turned his gaze to the entrance where he had come in. 

 

“ Now I will introduce the transfer student.”

 

After clearing his throat, the homeroom teacher called out to the person on the other side of the door. 

 

“Shinomori-kun, come in.”

 

“Yes.”

 

With that reply the transfer student came through the door causing the whole classroom to get excited. 

 

He had glossy, smooth, light brown hair and pale hazel eyes that were framed by long lashes. The tall young man standing there with milky white skin, a well-shaped nose, and a soft smile on his thin lips looked like a prince straight out of a fairy tale as he calmly walked to the teachers desk and stood next to it.

 

“This is the new transfer student, Shinomori Kaname-kun. Everyone, please get along well. Shionomori, please introduce yourself.”

 

“Hi,” the young man replies.

 

“I’m Shinomori Kaname. I’ve returned from overseas and will be transferring here as a special admission. I look forward to working with you all. Let’s get along well.”

 

When he bowed gracefully and smiled there was a commotion and a soft scream arose from the class.

 

“This is dangerous!!, what’s with this atmosphere!”

“Honestly, There’s really a prince here!”

“I don’t even feel like competing with him….wow.”

“Seriously, it’s too sparkly! Aren’t there effects flying around?”

 

The teacher took control of the noisy classroom and pointed to a vacant seat for Shinomori and asked him to take a seat. The transfer student nodded and was about to walk in that direction, when the rear door opened with a clatter.

“Aaah, Sorry. I came late because I wasn’t feeling well…”

 

“Nacchan!!”

 

As I was trying to make an excuse for being late, someone called my name. The moment I raised my head, my eyes locked on to the body of that voice and I stiffened. By the time that I recognized that dangerous smile and tried to turn away, my body creaking like a broken robot, it was already too late. 

 

“Nacchan! Nacchan, I’m back!!”

 

His name was called out repeatedly and then his vision was blocked, his face was pressed against something hard.

 

‘Wh, what?, Huh?’

 

The moment I realized that the hard thing blocking my vision was Kaname’s chest and that I was being hugged, I immediately got goosebumps. 

 

“Wuh… wuhh…w, wuh.”

 

‘Why? Why are you here right now!’

 

“Kaname!!”

 

The moment I finally managed to call out his name, I was hugged even tighter and a scream echoed throughout the classroom, drowning out my own voice.

 

He didn’t care about the noise in the classroom, and just hugged me, nuzzling my neck in a tortuous way. After a while, there was a soft touch that was felt on my right cheek. After a light chuu sound, Shinomori Kaname whispered in his ear “I’m back.” with a beautiful smile on his face.

 

“ Wh-What. Sasazuka, Shinomori, How do you two know each other!?”

 

The whole thing happened so fast that the teacher, who was frozen in shock, opened his mouth in a panic. It makes sense though, this came out of nowhere. 

 

“Ah, No… um…..”

 

As I hesitated to answer this difficult question, my body was turned around. Before I could even think. Eh…Kaname pulled me closer and made me stand next to him.

 

“ Hey, you, Let go…!”

 

I tried to shake him off, but even though he looked delicate, he didn’t budge when I tried to push him away. Maybe it’s the difference in height that gives him so much strength despite his appearance, that I’m not able to push him away. 

 

As I stood next to him, the faint scent of the ocean with a hint of a marine scent, tickled my nose, ‘Damn even his pheromones are as fresh as ever. This guy is seriously flawless.’ I thought, cursing in my heart as I smelled Kaname’s sweet scent for the first time in a while. 

 

Ignoring my glaring eyes, Kaname suddenly declared to the class with a gentle smile on his face.

 

“ Sasazuka Natsume, Nacchan, is my fiance. Please take good care of us.”

 

Loud screams erupted from the class again. A bomb was dropped with an unparalleled destructive power. 

 

My peaceful and tranquil school life was suddenly brought to ruin by a single prince.

 

I want to seal away the memories after that.

 

“Nacchan is my fiance.”

 

Natsume, after declaring that, spoke even more. 

 

“Therefore, do not touch him.”

 

The moment Kaname narrowed his eyes with a faint smile on his porcelain white face, an untold pressure was felt throughout the room. The feeling of, This is mine, so I won’t allow anyone to touch it, could be felt from the intense pressure that Kaname was exerting.  

 

“Hehe… that being said, I look forward to getting along with you all.” 

 

Kaname laughed, dispersing the heavy atmosphere in an instant. I just stood there stunned, unable to move. Kaname grabbed my right hand, pulling me away as if nothing happened, and escorted me to an empty seat. 

 

“Nacchan….Here.”

 

Kaname pulled up a chair and approached me with a smile, and I threw my bag on the desk without saying a word. I turned away and sat down with a thud. Without saying anything else, Kaname walked away from me saying “sorry for the trouble” and quietly sat down in his seat.

 

The homeroom teacher appearing flustered hastily managed to get the situation under control. Allowing the class to move forward. 

 

Even so, the quiet murmuring ming could not be suppressed, and the glances of their classmates’ eyes began to flicker towards the two. 

Kaname was sitting down in the window seat that was slightly diagonally in front of me, and it made me even more angry that he looked so dignified, and did not seem to care about what just happened. 

 

I stomped my feet in frustration, thinking about how he just showed up out of nowhere and was just doing whatever he wanted. 

 

Shinomori Kaname.

 

He is truly my fiance, officially approved of by my parents.

If I would have told someone that the head of the Shinomori family, one of Japan’s leading corporations, and the son of a sake brewery family are fiances, people would probably laugh at how disproportionate it is.  

 

However, because their engagement was not publicly announced, they had been able to live a peaceful and quiet life until now. 

 

Afterall although Kaname had enrolled in Nioumiya’s middle school, he had left the academy before summer to transfer to a public school overseas. Because of this, few people at the academy talked about him, and if he had kept quiet, no one would have known that I was Kaname’s fiance.  

 

I had been living a peaceful life, but now it is on the verge of collapse. I want you to understand why I, who values peace, want to stomp my feet in anger. 

Now, although it may seem abrupt, before I talk about my engagement with Kaname, let’s talk a little bit about this world.

 

In this world same-sex marriages are not that uncommon.  Why is that? First of all, there are three other genders in this world besides male and female.  

 

“α Alpha” “β Beta” “Ω Omega”

 

Of the three genders, the alphas are born with good looks and excellent intelligence and physical abilities, and always reigns at the top of the hierarchy.

The number of laws and public facilities for omegas has also increased, and as they are able to adapt to society, people are no longer as obsessed with mate relationships as they were in the past, and omegas are no longer perceived as weak, making life easier.

This world is based on such an environment. 

With alphas and omegas becoming capable of reproduction, it will be more common for men and women to follow their instincts and mate with the same sex.

The reality is that there is less and less prejudice against same-sex couples these days.

Having said that, going back to my engagement, in my case, it was my fiancé’s fault. Extremely so.

Although gender differences are something you see on paper, they’re not something that’s often talked about in public, and I didn’t particularly tell anyone about it.

However, when you see Kaname, who charms everyone and is recognized at a glance as the ultimate alpha, It’s like telling everyone that he as his fiance is an omega.

There’s no way that everyone wouldn’t understand the meaning of having a fiancé of the same sex. Two men cannot have children if they are alphas or betas, so even a fool would realize that he’s an omega if Kaname is an alpha.

　Also, unlike the unnecessarily prince-like Kaname, I’m not good-looking, but rather average, and only about 170cm tall (actually I’m only 168cm, but if you round it up it shouldn’t be a problem…).
