Chapter 112: Wedding Part 2

On the eve of wedding preparations.

Ye Jin and Gu Chenxi went traveling again.

They planned to visit many places, with the final stop of their journey being the location of their wedding: a beautiful country with perpetual spring-like weather.

The most important reasons for holding the wedding abroad were: fewer people, higher thresholds, and easier control over the situation.

This met the necessary conditions for Gu Chenxi to keep the wedding confidential.

On the eve of their trip, Ye Jin randomly selected eighteen lucky netizens from her account, covering their flights, accommodations, guides, and tour groups, inviting them to attend the ceremony in person.

The number had just been finalized.

Right after, Shu Lingxi sent out confidentiality agreements to all of them.

These eighteen lucky individuals had no objections whatsoever and obediently signed and returned the agreements.

Placing high hopes from CP fans, they overnight ordered eye drops and trained in narration skills, vowing to recount every detail of the ceremony after returning home.

Some even signed up for crash courses in drawing overnight.

This was considered a reasonable exploitation within the rules and did not violate any regulations.

Gu Chenxi paid no mind to these minor maneuvers. No matter how much they trained, his security team would ensure that not a single image from the event would be leaked.

The wedding preparations proceeded in an orderly manner.

On the eve of the wedding.

Their plane landed punctually at the airport.

Holding hands as they walked out, they encountered the assistant and guide who had come to pick them up.

Ah, this feels so unreal, Ye Jin said. Am I really getting married?

Gu Chenxi tightened his grip on her hand. It has to be you.

Ye Jin chuckled at his response and reassured him, Alright, why are you more nervous than I am?

The original purpose of this trip was actually to alleviate Ye Jin’s fear of marriage.

As the wedding date approached, Ye Jin often felt a sense that if she married Gu Chenxi, her life would essentially be set in stone.

It was inexplicable, yet it felt like a sixth sense.

After noticing this, Gu Chenxi took the initiative to plan this journey.

They visited many countries, saw countless beautiful landscapes, and along the way, she was completely healed.

But it seemed Gu Chenxi was the complete opposite.

Not at all,

Gu Chenxi said. I’m afraid you might back out at the last minute.

Don’t worry, Ye Jin said. We’ve already gotten the marriage certificate. Where could I possibly back out?

Gu Chenxi: That’s for the best.

Far away in a foreign land, aside from the people who came to pick them up, no one recognized them, nor could they understand their language.

So the two chatted intimately, paying no mind to anyone around them, discussing trivial matters.

When they arrived at the hotel.

Ye Jin dropped her luggage and fell asleep immediately.

After who knows how long, Ye Jin finally woke up.

She discovered that Gu Chenxi had, at some point, climbed into her bed and was sleeping soundly with his eyes closed.

Ye Jin stared at his handsome features.

Suddenly, she recalled the first time they shared a bed.

She had been so nervous and shy that even with Gu Chenxi blindfolded, she trembled uncontrollably.

The foreplay was exceptionally long.

It completely drained her energy.

So much so that as soon as it ended, she fell asleep exhausted.

The next morning, she woke up to find herself being held completely naked, blushing furiously, and quietly tried to slip away to find some clothes.

But Gu Chenxi was a light sleeper.

He woke up as soon as she moved.

Thus, she was caught right under the covers.

What happened next… was almost too tragic to recount.

Ye Jin closed her eyes, forcing those memories out of her mind, unwilling to dwell on them any further.

The person in front of her suddenly stirred.

A long arm reached out and pulled her into an embrace.

Ye Jin looked up and noticed Gu Chenxi’s eyes were still closed, so she called softly, Gu Chenxi?

Hmm?

How did you end up in my room? And on her bed, no less.

Gu Chenxi replied, Afraid you’d run away from the wedding.

Ye Jin took a deep breath and smiled. I’ll give you a chance to say that again.

Sensing the danger in her tone, Gu Chenxi chuckled with his eyes still shut. I wanted to.

He wanted to be in the same space as her.

He wanted to be with her.

What other reason did he need?

That’s not the point, Ye Jin pushed him. My mom and godmother are right next door. Could you at least be a little more discreet?

Gu Chenxi soothed her with a kiss. I’m your fiancé, not your secret lover.

His logic was truly unbeatable.

Ye Jin simply got out of bed. You sleep. I’m going out for a bit.

Alright.

Even while traveling, Gu Chenxi’s workload hadn’t diminished in the slightest.

Yesterday, Ye Jin had assisted him until the early hours before exhaustion finally overtook her, leaving Gu Chenxi to work alone until it was time to leave for the airport.

Gu Chenxi kept his eyes closed.

After Ye Jin left, her scent grew faint, but for him, it was enough.

Due to the upcoming wedding, the entire hotel was under tight security.

This ensured that all wedding guests could feel completely at ease about their safety.

After leaving her room, Ye Jin called Cheng Jinhua and followed her directions to find her.

Her mother and godmother were having afternoon tea together.

Ye Jin walked over and sat between them, asking, Is there anything I need to do?

Go try on your formal dress again tomorrow to make sure it still fits, Guan Yan said. Other than that, there’s nothing. Just relax and wait for the wedding the day after.

Ye Jin nodded. Alright.

Guan Yan suddenly remembered something else. Oh, and the friends you specifically invited—they arrived on the same flight today and were asking where you were.

She was likely referring to those eighteen online friends—seventeen girls and one guy.

Since they were Ye Jin’s guests, it was only right for her to host them.

Ye Jin asked for their floor number but felt that dropping in unannounced would be impolite. Instead, she got a menu from the hotel restaurant and planned to treat them to a casual dinner that evening.

That night.

Ye Jin met with them.

Following the custom of individual servings abroad, the long table set for twenty was laden with beautiful, tempting dishes.

Everyone, relax and make yourselves at home, Ye Jin greeted them cheerfully.

Okay.

Finally meeting Assistant Ye in person today.

Happy wedding, Assistant Ye.

Ye Jin acknowledged each greeting warmly, sitting with them to chat and eat.

You really don’t act high and mighty at all, Assistant Ye, the girl beside her remarked. You feel so approachable.

Ye Jin laughed. I’m just an ordinary person like all of you. Why would I put on airs?

Even though she had long achieved financial independence.

Ye Jin always held onto the belief that she was just a regular person.

The girl added, True. If anyone should have an air of importance, it’s President Gu.

Occasionally, she would equate the two of them.

Like a lamb that had stayed too long in a wolf’s den, picking up a bit of their fierce aura.

Assistant Ye, you’re really kind, she praised again.

The meal was thoroughly enjoyed by both hosts and guests.

Just as it was about to end, the private room’s door suddenly swung open.

Gu Chenxi pushed the door and entered.

Ye Jin raised an eyebrow. What are you doing here?

Gu Chenxi walked over without hesitation. I woke up and couldn’t find you.

Silence fell over the room.

Followed by the sound of sharp intakes of breath.

Wow— Then came exclamations of amazement, with excited gazes multiplying like rays shooting toward them.

Ye Jin helplessly patted her forehead.

This time, they’d really fallen into a nest of CP fans.

Ye Jin shot Gu Chenxi a helpless look, signaling her to tone it down.

But who was Gu Chenxi?

She had always prioritized her own comfort over others’.

So she calmly turned her head, her gaze sweeping over everyone present like a mountain range. Under the heavy pressure, they quickly shrank back and didn’t dare make a fuss.

Gu Chenxi sat down beside Ye Jin.

Ye Jin smoothed things over. Have something to eat.

Mm.

The rest remained as quiet as mice, typing on their phones with bowed heads.

Feeling cowardly but safe >

Hurry up, someone step up, I want to see them kiss!

Can’t do it at all
After discussing in the group chat, they finally realized none of the eighteen people present were any use.

So they could only continue pretending to be quails while eating.

The atmosphere was truly awkward.

Ye Jin took the initiative to liven things up. It’s not easy for us to gather here from all over. How about we take a group photo later?

A young woman in the distance timidly raised her hand. Will President Gu join us too?

Ye Jin nodded. Of course.

Everyone shifted their gaze to Gu Chenxi.

The latter remained silent, quietly eating without objection.

That was perfect.

The atmosphere at the table finally became somewhat more lively.

After the meal.

Ye Jin found a well-lit spot and set up the camera she’d found.

Everyone automatically clustered around her and Gu Chenxi in the center.

Fine.

Center it is.

With a click, the group photo was taken.

Suddenly, a voice from behind said, Let’s make heart gestures for the photo.

Great idea.

I agree.

Ye Jin turned to look at Gu Chenxi. Do you know how to make a heart?

Like this.

Ye Jin demonstrated with two fingers.

Gu Chenxi quickly mirrored the gesture.

Yes, yes, just like that.

Two half-hearts joined together.

Click.

Another photo was taken.

I’ll develop the photos and deliver them to your rooms tomorrow, Ye Jin said.

Someone raised their hand. Can we post these photos online?

Ye Jin looked at Gu Chenxi. Is that okay?

The latter maintained her silent consent, so Ye Jin’s tone became more certain. Yes.

Hehehe, awesome.

Another moment to fangirl over.

Forty-eight hours later.

The photo appeared on domestic social media.

Everyone else in the group photo had been cropped out, leaving only Ye Jin and Gu Chenxi in the center.

President Gu’s smile looks so unreserved.

Yay yay yay, they’re making hearts!

I’ve been completely hooked—even a simple heart gesture photo makes me unbearably sweet.

Can’t expect to see them kissing, but heart gestures are pretty great too haha.
