The Omnipotent Super Chuunibyou - Chapter 1
“I’m the man who’s going to become the Pirate King!”
“People’s dreams never end!”
“Rin, I’m going to create a world where you exist!”
“My suffering surpasses yours!”
“Nothing? Since the start, I’ve stood above the heavens, regardless of who you are, or even if you’re a god, but this throne has been vacant for too long… From now on, it is I who shall reign supreme!”
“At the peak of the heavens, I defy the world; with me, An Lan, there exists a sky!”
“Those who recite my true name shall see eternity in the face of rebirth!”
“Thirty years the river flows east, thirty years the river flows west; you must not mock the youth for his poverty!”
“You’ve already chosen your own death!”

Haasegawa Izumi had been dreaming for a long time, endlessly dreaming. There were many stories in these dreams, all incredibly realistic, so vivid they seemed to be happening in full view, but upon waking, he was left with an inexplicable sense of loss.
Could it be that these were memories from his past life?
At some point, Haasegawa Izumi had come to believe this deeply.
During the last summer holiday after his middle school graduation, he sent out a message on the internet, hoping to find an answer from someone else, but the result left him deeply disappointed.
I’ve always had a secret: In truth, I was reincarnated from another world. In that place, cultivation had reached its zenith, and there were passionate knights, evil sorcerers, martial artists with overflowing qi, users of Devil Fruit abilities, ninja and shinigami… But ever since I came to this world, I’ve discovered that my powers disappeared. So, I’d like to ask everyone, how can I retrieve my powers? How can I return to that world?
【 Bro, I have those dreams all the time, but not with so many different types. 】
【 Divine spark, activate! 】
【 Your imagination is novel-worthy. 】
【 Too many elements! 】
【 How long have you had these symptoms? 】
Below that last response, there was one more, from a self-claimed doctor.
“Hmph, are these people trying to say I have Chuunibyou?” He snorted and closed the browser window. Seeking answers from ignorant strangers seemed like a fool’s errand.
Suddenly, his phone chirped with a new message notification. He glanced down to see it was an invitation from his childhood friend, asking him to go buy a light novel by Kasumi Utako—Koisuru Metronome.
Strange, this title sounded oddly familiar. Had he read it before?
‘
Whatever, it wasn’t important.
…………….
“Eriri, what are you doing dressed like that? Trying to rob a bank?”
As soon as he stepped out the door, he saw a girl dressed in a green hooded sweatshirt and jeans leaning against the wall, looking like she’d been waiting for quite some time.
This was his childhood friend, Eriri, the eldest daughter of the Spencer family, known as “the jewel of Shimamura Middle School.” She was a super-pretty girl, though the nickname referred more to her habit of missing school due to illness than anything else. In fact, she hated the moniker, but it was nevertheless an apt description. She was as delicate and exquisite as fine china…
However, beneath her surface appearance, she concealed another identity: she was a doujin artist who went by the pen name “Kashiwagi Eri,” and she was currently enjoying a meteoric rise in the industry!
Today, though, compared to her usual glamorous school self, she had concealed her dazzling blond hair and donned a pair of black-rimmed glasses she normally didn’t wear.
“Don’t play dumb with me. I don’t want anyone else to discover my other side,” Eriri said with a grimace as she abruptly stopped posing dramatically with one foot on the wall and her arms crossed, her lips twitching.
“Okay, enough with the chitchat. Come on,” she said, pulling him along.
Without giving him time to respond, the girl led him across the street by the arm.
Half an hour later…
“Ah, I finally got it! I’ve been keeping an eye on this work since it won the Shinazugawa Library’s new author award. Now that it’s officially serialized, I hope Kasumi Utako-sensei writes an even more captivating story~ If she does, I’ll support her all the way.”
On the way home, Eriri held a light novel like a prized possession, her voice brimming with satisfaction.
The person beside her walked ahead, completely disinterested in engaging in conversation.
Eriri frowned at the one-sided exchange and couldn’t help but say, “Izumi, are you even listening? Did you stay up all night playing games again? Or is it that you’re just ignoring me on purpose?”
Not inviting me to play games—guilty! Ignoring me—add that to the list of crimes!
She assumed the posture of a prosecutor.
“No, I was just thinking about something.” Haasegawa Izumi looked up.
“What thing?” She pressed, suspicious.
“Um, actually, it’s that I’ve been dreaming a lot lately, and all sorts of weird things are happening in them, like they’ve already happened before? Do you think I’ve ‘awakened’ or something? Like reincarnated as a hero or whatever, and now my memories are being unlocked…”
Haasegawa Izumi spoke seriously.
Since she’s my closest childhood friend, shouldn’t I consult her?
Eriri fell silent once again.
They walked a while longer.
I wonder if Izumi’s condition has suddenly gotten worse?
Eriri’s mood turned somber.
As a childhood friend, she knew Izumi had been diagnosed with “intermittent psychosis” by doctors, meaning she could go crazy at any time, and she had once made quite a scene. However, the direction of her craziness was a bit odd, in that sometimes she’d say some cool-sounding lines or nonsensical things.
In the otaku culture Eriri was familiar with, this was typically referred to as Chuunibyou, a terrifying yet cute disease that easily struck middle school girls in their second year, wherein their developing sense of self merged with childish daydreams to produce all sorts of weird behavior…or something like that.
If it were only that, many people would have it, and even Eriri herself had once mimicked the lines and actions of magical girls in anime… It was so embarrassing.
And so, she was certain Izumi didn’t have Chuunibyou.
“Uh… Yeah…”
Just as Eriri was trying to figure out how to get out of this situation, Izumi lifted a finger, as if she’d remembered something.
“You know, I think you were in my memories from my past life, too, Eriri.”
“Really?”
The girl’s face lit up, but then she blushed bright red, her thoughts dominated by “Kashiwagi Eri.”
“What past life memories? Y-you, y-you… Were you jerking off?”
Sure enough, Izumi must have been thinking about me! After all, I’m so cute… All this build-up was just for that line!
Now what? Is Izumi about to confess? Should I respond?
Eriri’s heart leapt into her throat.
Clearly, someone with severe mental issues wasn’t a good match for a healthy relationship, but what choice did she have? Who else besides her childhood friend would pay attention to this idiot? Surely she couldn’t leave Izumi single for life!
But her laughter only continued.
“You mean I dreamed of doing to you? How could that be? Hysteric Woman, Gross! stop your fantasies!”
The girl’s smile vanished, her mood plunging to its nadir.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about, but I’m deeply offended… Take that back!”
Eriri, her true nature finally revealed, raised her fist and swung it to the right.
Her fist landed on his abdomen, as soft as a cotton candy.
“Maybe I remembered wrong. Her name might’ve been Airi or something…”
Having taken a blow, Hasegawa Izumi arched an eyebrow began to teased her
“Don’t lump me with characters from some work, you idiot! Watch my Starburst Abandonment Slash!”
The girl’s feathers were ruffled even more. She tossed her hat aside and shook her head, unleashing a barrage of dozens of attacks with her twintails.
