Did you think the little dumpling was done after that? Of course not.

If she was going to be falsely accused of hitting someone, then she might as well make it worth the trouble.

Otherwise, wouldn’t that false accusation have been for nothing?

After evening out the chubby boy’s head with a symmetrical punch, Niannian lifted her little leg and kicked him so hard he was sent half a meter into the air.

Then came a clean uppercut, and the poor boy suddenly felt like he was about to vomit up yesterday’s dinner.

What followed was a flurry of punches and kicks, each one precise and practiced. Only today did Yu Shanhe finally get a clear idea of his daughter’s combat level.

Wow. Just look at that kid, she hadn’t even let his feet touch the ground for half the fight! Niannian wasn’t the kind of child who didn’t know her limits, though. It looked bad, sure, but she never hit anywhere dangerous.

Painful, yes, but even if they went to the hospital for a medical report, it would at most count as “minor injuries.”

When she was done, Niannian didn’t just drop the chubby boy, she caught him by the collar and gently placed him back on the ground.

In her mind, that was an extremely kind gesture. But everyone else thought differently, this wasn’t a fight. This was a training session and the boy was her punching bag.

The chubby boy’s mother finally snapped out of her daze and screamed, rushing forward to hug her son and burst into tears.

At that point, her “elegant lady” image had completely collapsed, she looked just like a shrew from the streets.

“You rotten little brat! You shameless dog! What did my son ever do to you for you to beat him like this!? I’ll sue you! I’ll sue your whole family! This isn’t over!”

A stream of curses poured out of her mouth. And at that moment, Niannian finally understood where the chubby boy had learned all the nasty things he’d said earlier that day.

So the saying was true: the crooked beam at the top makes the ones below it crooked too. The ancients never lied.

Yu Shanhe, of course, couldn’t tolerate anyone cursing his daughter.

With a dark expression, he said, “You were the one who insisted on accusing my daughter without proof. No matter how we explained, you refused to listen. Why should my daughter endure your bullying and slander? Now she’s done what you accused her of, exactly as you wanted. Go ahead and let your son hit her back.”

Hit her back? The chubby boy was lying face-down on the floor, barely able to move. If he could even lift a hand to tap Niannian’s knee, it would be a miracle of endurance.

“Yu Shanhe! I can’t believe how unreasonable you are! What do you mean I accused her wrongly? Zhao Tang testified! How am I wrong? Your whole family is heartless and rotten!”

The woman felt wronged too. Sure, in the past she was the type to take her son’s side no matter what, always defending him even when he was clearly at fault, even clapping for him when he hit others.

But this time was different! Her son hadn’t fought back at all. That’s why she’d come to demand justice! In her mind, her son was clearly the victim this time, especially with Zhao Tang backing her up as a “witness.”

Yu Shanhe just snorted coldly and turned his sharp gaze on Zhao Tang again. This adopted daughter of his, he hadn’t liked her from the very beginning.

He already had a daughter. He was never going to give up searching for her. So why would he take in an adopted child to take up his real daughter’s place and identity?

But back then, Zhao Tang was his wife’s niece, her sister’s child, and his wife adored her.

After losing her own baby, his wife had fallen into deep postpartum depression, even having suicidal thoughts. Only when she saw this child did she calm down a little. So, even though he disliked the idea, he took Zhao Tang in and gave her the best life possible, for his wife’s sake.

And this was the result.

All her little tricks hadn’t escaped his notice, especially the first time she’d broken that music box. Why hadn’t he said anything back then?

Because he wanted to give her some dignity.

He had thought it was just childish jealousy, something she’d grow out of. He hadn’t expected her to team up with outsiders to bully his real daughter.

Ungrateful little snake.

“Heh,” Yu Shanhe sneered. “Since when does a child’s word count as evidence? We have security cameras at home. Mrs. Cheng, if you don’t believe me, I can show you the footage.”

After Niannian had snuck out once before, Yu Shanhe had installed cameras all over the house, inside and out, so he’d never be in the dark again if something happened.

He’d originally installed them to keep Niannian from running off. But who would’ve thought the first time they’d be used would be now?

When Zhao Tang heard that there were cameras in the house, her mind went completely blank. She hadn’t expected that! If there was footage, everything she’d just said, all those lies would be exposed in seconds.

Then what did that make her? A clown. A pathetic little clown putting on a show.

Anger and resentment welled up inside her. It was directed straight at Yu Shanhe. He hadn’t even told her there were cameras in the house! Clearly, he’d never really seen her as family.

Meanwhile, Yu Shanhe had already pulled out his phone, found the recording, and showed it to the chubby boy’s mother.

The footage clearly captured everything that had happened that day, how the boy had gotten hurt, how he’d cursed, and how the other kids had been involved.

Everything was crystal clear.

The chubby boy’s mother’s face burned red. Her arrogance deflated like a balloon. By the end of the video, her expression was stiff and ugly. She didn’t want to admit it, but it was obvious, her son had started it.

Still, so what? He’d been beaten in front of her!

“So what if he started it? Your daughter just hit my son again! We all saw it, even you did. You can’t deny that!”

“I’m not denying it,” Yu Shanhe replied coolly. “You accused my daughter. She couldn’t explain herself, so she made it true, exactly as you wanted. We agreed to your solution, didn’t we? Go on then. Have your son get up and hit her back.”

Father and daughter were clearly cut from the same cloth. Yu Shanhe had understood Niannian’s intention the very moment she raised her fist.

So go ahead, if your son has the ability, let him get up and throw a punch. If not, then get lost.

The chubby boy’s mother glanced at her groaning son, who was still lying there whimpering, and couldn’t bring herself to say a word about him hitting the little girl back.

She puffed out her cheeks and spat out, “Just you wait!”

Then she scooped up her son and ran off in embarrassment. But before she could reach the gate, Niannian chased after her and called out, “Auntie! If you keep ignoring your son’s behavior, he’s going to face retribution within half a month!”

“What did you say!?” The woman turned, eyes bloodshot, glaring at the little dumpling with pure hatred.

If looks could kill, Niannian would’ve been dead a hundred times over.

But Niannian just smiled sweetly and said, “He who does too much evil will destroy himself. Your son’s caused a lot of harm, retribution will come soon. I’d suggest you hold a ritual to help those little animals he’s hurt move on.”

With that, the little dumpling shut the door with a click, cutting off any further yelling. The woman screamed curses outside the gate, but no one inside paid her any attention.

Finally, when she’d tired herself out, she left with her son.
