Chapter 26: The Hundred Riders! The Massacre Begins!

Su Hao had perfected the “Twelve Stances Tan Leg.”

“Soft Cloud Palm!”

Then, with a change of movement, Su Hao began to execute a set of palm techniques. His palms appeared slow and soft, yet as he pushed left and thrust right, his arms moved like gentle clouds, seemingly soft but filled with imposing strength.

Whoosh!

Su Hao’s hands balanced firmness and softness, resembling someone carrying a ball as multiple streams of strength surged forth, creating a pulling force that drew the surrounding snow into a ball, blending it effortlessly between his palms and fingers.

With a sudden thrust of his hands, the snowball burst forth, shooting out towards the front!

“Crack, crack, crack!”

The shattered snowball either smashed onto the ground, leaving traces in the snow, or struck the trees, causing branches to snap and leaves to disintegrate, creating a scene as if showered by a rain of arrows.

Any martial artist witnessing this would surely be amazed at Su Hao’s control over his strength, reaching a depth that was extraordinarily difficult for ordinary people to achieve!

“Studying different styles and types of martial arts has gradually strengthened my inner vigor. As my foundation deepens and I master the integration of various forces, I expect to reach even greater heights.”

Su Hao exhaled a burst of hot air, calming the turbulent energy circulating within him, and thought to himself.

Every time he perfected a martial art, his wisdom and foundational knowledge of martial arts would increase.

Just like a scholar, even with exceptional talent, he needed to read many books and learn extensive knowledge before becoming a master in that field. Su Hao was currently experiencing this stage.

Potential: 28 points (one in ten thousand)

“Again, I have perfected two martial arts, but the increase in potential points is slowing down. It was only completing these two martial arts that provided a slight boost to my potential.”

Su Hao mused silently, realizing that as his talent increased, it became harder to advance even a little. This was similar to physical training; when the foundation was already high, making further progress became increasingly difficult. He needed to delve deeper into more profound martial arts!

“Tomorrow is the time to leave Crouching Tiger Town, so I should get some rest.”

With that, Su Hao returned home to rest. The New Year had passed, and he had already discussed with Zhao Tie about heading to the Weapon Forging Workshop right after the holiday.

“A Hao, you will probably incur some expenses when you arrive in Evergreen City. This is a small gesture from everyone; please accept it, as it’s bestowed by the elders and should not be declined.”

Before leaving, Zhao Tie handed a cloth bag to Su Hao, which contained about twenty taels of silver, gathered by everyone at the blacksmith shop.

Su Hao felt a surge of gratitude in his heart and ultimately chose to accept it.

“Uncle Zhao, Uncle Zhou… I’m off now.”

The next morning, Su Hao greeted Zhao Tie and the others one by one before setting off.

“I always feel that A Hao is not an average person; he will likely achieve great things in the future!”

“Haha… Our blacksmith shop has produced a talented individual; we can consider ourselves lucky.”

The group watched Su Hao leave, each shaken and shaking their heads, before they resumed their tasks.

When Su Hao first arrived at the blacksmith shop, he was just a miscellaneous apprentice, but in just a few years, he had become the best blacksmith in town and was even recommended by Zhao Tie to study at the Weapon Forging Workshop.

No matter what, everyone had their own matters to attend to. No matter who left, life would go on!

“The Weapon Forging Workshop… this will mark a new beginning!”

With his backpack slung over his shoulder, Su Hao looked back at the place he had called home for many years. Ultimately, he quickened his pace and headed towards Evergreen City.

“It’s snowing.”

As Su Hao walked along the road, he looked up at the sky, where delicate snowflakes were drifting down. It was indeed winter, and the weather remained bitterly cold.

However, with Su Hao’s physique, he naturally did not fear the light wind and snow. As he walked, snowflakes fell around him, but before they could touch his body, they seemed to encounter an invisible barrier, naturally sliding away.

Having achieved Transformation Strength, even mosquitoes cannot land, let alone snowflakes!

“Hmm?”“Is there movement?”

As Su Hao walked along the official road, about ten miles away from Evergreen City, he suddenly heard the thunderous sound of hoofbeats.

Looking up, he saw nearly a hundred cavalrymen braving the wind and snow.

Each knight rode excellent horses, donned armor, and looked well-trained. The sound of nearly a hundred horses galloping created a resounding noise, causing snowflakes to scatter, as if the very earth was shaking—a truly impressive sight!

“Those uniforms… are they from the Evergreen Army?”

Su Hao’s heart stirred as he recognized the attire of these cavalrymen.

Previously, Su Hao had encountered Pei Changhong, the sergeant from the Evergreen Army, who had been pursued by the Black Deer Army. Pei Changhong’s outfit was identical to that of this group of cavalry, confirming they were indeed from the Evergreen Army.

“I should step aside.”

Not wanting to stir up trouble, Su Hao quickly moved to the roadside to give way as a large group of cavalry rushed past, creating a thunderous roar, their imposing presence undeniable.

“Looks like these cavalrymen from the Evergreen Army are in a hurry. I wonder what happened.”

Although Su Hao felt a tinge of curiosity, he was not one to meddle in others’ affairs and had no intention of probing further.

“That young man… seems a bit strange!”

Some members of the cavalry also noticed Su Hao standing by the roadside, and they couldn’t help but feel a hint of oddness.

Despite the snowy weather, Su Hao appeared unbothered by the cold, and there were hardly any snowflakes or wet marks on him. However, they were too busy to pay attention to Su Hao.

“Quick! Move faster! That group of rebels is looting Crouching Tiger Town. We must catch them and eradicate them completely!”

“Don’t let your guard down; these rebels are not just an ordinary mob!”

As Su Hao watched the group of cavalry depart, his ears perked up, and he keenly picked up voices carried by the wind—some cavalrymen were fervently discussing their battle intent.

“What? The rebels have looted Crouching Tiger Town?”

Su Hao, who had been standing still, looked up in shock upon hearing the information revealed in their conversation.

Crouching Tiger Town had been attacked by rebels? The reason the Evergreen Army was in such a hurry was that they had received a message via carrier pigeon and were heading to eliminate the rebels!

“I need to go back and check!”

Though he was already near Evergreen City, Su Hao promptly made his decision to return to Crouching Tiger Town.

He hurried back in the direction he came from, using Eight Steps to Catch the Cicada. His body created an afterimage as he moved, faster than a galloping horse, and in less than half an hour, he covered several dozen miles.

When he returned to Crouching Tiger Town and reached the town entrance, Su Hao was hit by a strong smell of blood and heard faint cries in the distance.

At the entrance, there were corpses—some had their heads severed, while others were pierced through the chest. They were all townsfolk of Crouching Tiger Town.

Everything had been perfectly calm when he left in the morning, but now, just around afternoon, Crouching Tiger Town was littered with bodies, having been ravaged by rebels!

Indeed, as the cavalry had said, the rebels had looted Crouching Tiger Town.

“How are Uncle Zhao and the others?”

Su Hao felt anxious and hurried into Crouching Tiger Town. On the street, he saw people crying while holding onto corpses, and shops that had been ransacked.

Meanwhile, the door of Zhao’s Blacksmith Shop was collapsed and shattered, as if it had been forcefully broken open, and a strong smell of blood lingered in the air.

“Who goes there?”

At the entrance, two blacksmiths, tense and wielding long knives, looked up abruptly at the sound of footsteps.

“A Hao!”

As they recognized the face of the newcomer, they let out a sigh of relief, realizing it was Su Hao.

“How is Uncle Zhao?”

Su Hao immediately asked as he saw the broken door, knowing that Zhao’s Blacksmith Shop had definitely been attacked by the rebels.

“A Hao… why are you back?”

At that moment, a familiar voice called out, and Zhao Tie emerged, holding a long knife. He had a bandage wrapped around his shoulder, with blood seeping through, and his complexion appeared somewhat pale.

Seeing that Zhao Tie was okay, Su Hao let out a long sigh of relief. Zhao Tie had taken great care of him, and Su Hao regarded him as an elder!
