Chapter 17: A Dark and Stormy Night! Blood Spills in Five Steps!

“Members of the Black Snake Gang? Are they coming for me?”

In the darkness, Su Hao stared coldly at the two departing figures. His expression was somewhat frosty.

Having perfected his Baduanjin and Vajra Fist, and having refined his strength to great accomplishment through two rounds of body quenching, his senses were far more acute than those of ordinary people. He had already sensed the two as they scouted and observed outside his residence, so he left the room first and quietly monitored their movements from outside.

These two men hadn’t stolen anything or caused any damage; upon finding Su Hao absent, they left immediately.

Su Hao wasn’t a fool; with a slight guess, he could deduce their origin—most likely members of the Black Snake Gang—and their purpose for coming at night was undoubtedly related to the blacksmith shop.

“I just want to work quietly at the forge, earn a living, and focus on my training. Why do they have to court death?”

A chilling killing intent flashed in Su Hao’s eyes.

The trees long for calm, but the wind does not cease. Su Hao understood that this matter could no longer be resolved peacefully. He couldn’t remain idle any longer; if the situation continued to develop, the blacksmith shop would surely suffer heavy losses, which also concerned his own interests!

Su Hao adjusted his hood, leaving only his eyes visible, and then silently followed the two from a distance, intending to track them down and eventually deal with the mastermind behind them, ‘He Zhiyong.’

Su Hao’s Eight Steps to Catch the Cicada had also reached great accomplishment, giving him exceptional lightness and agility. The two men had no idea that someone was trailing them.

They arrived at Maple Leaf Village, which, like Longshe Village, belonged to Crouching Tiger Town.

At a secluded residence in Maple Leaf Village, the two masked men approached the back door, gently knocking on the door knocker, then removing their face coverings.

“Squeak!”

Not long after, a gap opened in the gate wide enough for a person to pass through, and the two entered in single file and shut the door behind them.

Inside the courtyard, several people were waiting, one of whom was slightly plump but gave off a commanding presence, resembling a general on the battlefield. This was He Zhiyong, the leader of the Black Snake Gang!

“Where are they?”

He Zhiyong frowned slightly as he glanced at the two subordinates who returned empty-handed. He had sent them to capture the young man from the blacksmith shop to use as leverage against Zhao Tie and the others, who were stubbornly resisting. Yet, they returned after a trip without any success!

A tall, thin man chuckled bitterly and said, “Master… you can’t blame us. That kid seems quite clever; he wasn’t home at all, and we came back empty-handed.”

“That’s right, but we didn’t make any noise, and we were very careful, leaving no traces. Once that kid returns, we’ll go again and we will definitely capture him!” another quickly added.

However, He Zhiyong’s expression darkened slightly as he said, “The gang leader is already very displeased and is urging me to finish this matter quickly. There isn’t much time for us to drag it out anymore. Those blacksmiths may not fear death, but their families certainly do. Let’s go over and offer them a little ‘warmth’; I’m not afraid they won’t yield!”

The quicker the matters with Zhao’s Blacksmith Shop could be settled, the better. He Zhiyong had lost all patience; he knew how to deal with these tough nuts—if it takes being despicable, so be it!

As He Zhiyong and his several subordinates discussed targeting the blacksmith shop and their families, a sudden sound broke through the air!

Whoosh!

Two shadows tore through the atmosphere, shooting over the courtyard wall and attacking He Zhiyong and one of the Black Snake Gang disciples beside him. They were two stones about the size of half a fist.

“Bang!”

The Black Snake Gang disciple, taken completely by surprise by the sudden attack, was struck on the forehead by one of the flying stones. He felt as if the stone contained immense strength, heavier than a hammer. Before he could even scream, his skull cracked, blood gushing as he fell to the ground.

Compared to the Black Snake Gang disciple, He Zhiyong reacted much more quickly. He let out a low shout, infused his palm with strength, and delivered a powerful slap.

“Crack!”

The stone that had shot towards He Zhiyong exploded into fragments upon impact, scattering everywhere.

“Who is it?”

He Zhiyong roared angrily, and the rest of his gang members were also alarmed and furious, on high alert. They never expected that there would be someone bold enough in Crouching Tiger Town to attack the Black Snake Gang.

Whoosh!

A figure jumped down from the courtyard wall, landing silently on the ground. Under the illumination of the moonlight, the figure was elongated in shadow, dressed in black attire, with a black hood over their face, revealing only a pair of chilling, piercing eyes that seemed like the death god come to claim souls!

“It’s really He Zhiyong.”

Su Hao’s eyes glimmered with cold light. He scanned the surroundings and saw four or five disciples of the Black Snake Gang in the courtyard, with He Zhiyong glaring amongst them. He had also overheard the discussion inside about targeting both him and the families of those at the blacksmith shop.

This made Su Hao’s killing intent surge, and he directly threw two pebbles from the wall, knocking down one of the gang members.

“Who are you? If there’s a grudge, feel free to present your name, and let’s see if we can settle things,” He Zhiyong said, looking at Su Hao with a serious expression, eager to understand the background of the figure in black before him.

Meanwhile, the other four members of the Black Snake Gang drew their weapons in unison, most wielding long knives and short swords that reflected a sharp cold light in the moon’s glow. It was clear that the newcomer meant trouble!

Su Hao spoke not a word of nonsense and slowly stepped toward the Black Snake Gang members. His purpose was clear: to eliminate He Zhiyong, who dared to attack him—there was no possibility of reconciliation!

“Damn it! Attack together and take him down!”

Seeing Su Hao’s threatening demeanor, He Zhiyong’s expression turned serious. If the other party was unwilling to communicate, then they would eliminate him first and see who he really was!

Whoosh!

With a command, one of the Black Snake Gang members, eager to make an impression in front of He Zhiyong, took the lead and charged at Su Hao, throwing a punch at Su Hao’s chest. The punch was fierce and could clearly demonstrate this man’s small accomplishment in fist techniques, and he was wearing a metal knuckle duster on his fingers.

There was no doubt this punch could shatter solid rock!

However, Su Hao seemed unresponsive, allowing the punch to hit his chest.

“Bang!”

The fist wearing the knuckle duster slammed into Su Hao’s chest, but contrary to expectations, the impact did not result in Su Hao’s bones breaking or muscles tearing. Instead, from the Black Snake Gang member’s perspective, his punch felt as if it had struck a solid wall, making it impossible to budge Su Hao an inch!

Having perfected the Vajra Fist, undergone a second round of body tempering, and with Inner Energy seeping through his pores, Su Hao’s defensive and offensive capabilities far exceeded the past. Even a martial artist of this realm, who was not even at the level of Refining Strength, could not inflict pain on him!

To Su Hao, the Black Snake Gang member’s heavy punch was no different from that of a child’s, making him too lazy to dodge.

“Oh no… retreat!”

The Black Snake Gang member’s pupils constricted as he realized that the person before him was clearly not on the same level as him. He hurriedly tried to withdraw, but it was already too late.

Su Hao raised one hand and slammed it down onto the head of the Black Snake Gang martial artist.

“Crack!”

Under the forceful impact of this palm strike, the martial artist’s skull caved in and cracked, blood mixing with brain matter spilling out!
