The Hot-tempered Young Master and His Village Flower Child Bride - Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4
Zhao Xunyu was bored, so he just watched TV with Chu Zhi Lu.
There was silence between them.
“Tsk, can’t they even tell it’s fake?” he scoffed.
Chu Zhi Lu blinked and said nothing.
Ten minutes later he sneered, “I give up. How can they be so fake? Will they die if they’re not morally upright?”
Seven minutes later, he muttered, “This acting is so over the top, it’s ridiculous.”
Five minutes later, he groaned, “How is it possible that the female lead is more annoying than the supporting character?”
Chu Zhi Lu looked at him, the corners of her mouth twitching.
A minute later, he snapped, “This forced stupidity is really impressive. Are they insulting my intelligence?”
“What kind of drama is this? They have the nerve to make 50 episodes? It’s long and terrible.”
“I’m not asking for it to be great, but at least have some normal characters.”
“Is the entire crew elementary school kids? They’re playing house and wasting my time.”
Chu Zhi Lu sighed silently and commented that the young master’s temper was still the same as before.
Chu Zhi Lu had thought that their interaction would remain polite and distant for a long time. But when Zhao Xunyu showed the same personality as before, she inexplicably felt that the ten years separating them weren’t so far away after all.
She looked at him seriously.
“Zhao Xunyu.”
Zhao Xunyu’s irritation hadn’t subsided and his tone was sharp. “Huh?”
“Can you drive?”
“Yes, what about it?”
“Do you have road rage?”
“…”
Zhao Xunyu forced a smile. “No. I have a pretty good temper. I just can’t stand idiots.”
Zhao Xunyu frowned and expressed his disdain, “Do you all like this kind of thunderous and bloody plot?”
“I’m just curious how bloody it can be.”
If she had to say it, it was more like watching it as a comedy-drama. Once it reached a certain level of absurdity, there was no need to emphasize logic. She just wanted to see how outrageous it could be.
Chu Zhi Lu has no interest in watching serious and conventional romantic TV dramas.
Zhao Xunyu shook his head in disbelief.
Much later, Zhao Xunyu suddenly sat upright, his voice filled with anxiety.
“Chu Zhi Lu…”
Chu Zhi Lu looked at him.
Zhao Xunyu cleared his throat and pretended to be calm. “Ahem, do you know where Grandma put my phone?”
Chu Zhi Lu became suspicious. “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t be nervous, I’m not trying to challenge Grandma’s authority. It’s just… it’s just that my phone was confiscated unexpectedly, and there are some private things that I didn’t have time to delete. If grandma sees them, it won’t be good. I want to, um, save face.”
Chu Zhi Lu’s eyes took on a judgmental look. At the sight of Zhao Xunyu stammering, unable to speak freely, she immediately thought in a negative direction…
Anything that would make someone as open and outgoing as him feel like it was private and not meant for others to see could only be about private topics or parts of the body…
“Just be honest with Grandma when she gets back. I don’t think she wants to see anything inappropriate. It’s useless to ask me, I can’t help you.”
Zhao Xunyu was surprised by her cold response. There was no warmth in her voice. He had simply asked a question, not pressured her into helping him retrieve his phone.
She’s nothing like the friendly, soft-spoken, easy-to-bully little girl she used to be. She doesn’t hold on to her old feelings at all.
So Zhao Xunyu also became cold. “Oh, I see.”
The atmosphere instantly froze. Chu Zhi Lu stood up, turned off the TV, and went upstairs without saying a word.
Zhao Xunyu watched her indifferent back, feeling a sense of resentment, like he was being left behind, at a disadvantage.
Were his words really that annoying? Seriously! People get prettier and their temper gets worse!
