The General Under the Skirt - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Shen Roujia was dragged back.
The woman was furious. She unleashed her fury on Shen Roujia as if she were an inanimate object, kicking and punching her so brutally that Shen Roujia thought she would die. Already weak and exhausted, she couldn’t withstand the onslaught.
Finally, after spitting out several mouthfuls of blood, her eyes went dark and she fainted.
When she woke up, she was back in the room. But this time her limbs were tightly bound, rendering her completely immobile.
As she regained consciousness, the door creaked open and the old man entered, carrying a bowl of food.
He smiled, a repulsive, lecherous smile.
“Here, little girl, eat. Don’t think about running away again, you’ll only hurt yourself.”
It was a bowl of hot porridge. It contained something Shen Roujia couldn’t identify, but it looked like pickled vegetables.
She moved her body slightly, indicating that she couldn’t move. The old man understood and laughed.
“It’s okay, come, uncle will feed you.”
Shen Roujia loathed this person, whether it was the way he spoke to her or the way he looked at her, everything was unbearably sticky and sweet. But she didn’t refuse the porridge.
The old man fed her the whole bowl.
“Now, now, don’t rush. You’ve just woken up, you shouldn’t eat too much.”
The journey had changed Shen Roujia.
She didn’t know if she had lost the pride of a Shen family daughter. But she had allowed herself to be fed by a man who lusted after her and whose eyes were filled with filth.
After she finished eating, the old man put the bowl down, stood up and said with a smile, “All right, now that you’re full, it’s my turn.”
Terror filled Shen Roujia’s eyes and her voice cracked.
“W-What are you going to do?!”
The old man began to unbuckle his trousers.
“Come here, little girl, let me have some fun first.”
Shen Roujia, tied up and unable to fight back, screamed, “What are you going to do, get out of here!”
“My fat wife is finally gone. Come here, little girl, my son is too sick to even stand up. He’s not as good as me.”
Shen Roujia couldn’t move. Ignoring the old man’s words, she shouted, “Get away from me! Get away from me! If you come any closer, I’ll… I’ll die here!”
The old man took off half of his pants. Before he could move, he heard a bang, the door was kicked open and the fat woman came in. The old man’s hand trembled and his pants fell down. Shen Roujia recoiled, feeling little relief.
The woman, seeing the scene before her, began to kick the old man furiously.
“You disgusting animal! You’d even touch your son’s woman!”
“You shameless old man! Aren’t you ashamed?”
The old man’s pants were still around his ankles, the scene utterly indecent.
“Wife, wife, let me explain! It’s not like that…”
“I’ve been with you for so many years, have you no conscience?”
“No, no, wife, I was thinking of our child, listen to me…”
The woman pulled the old man up and asked, “Tell me, what were you thinking?”
The old man sighed dramatically and said, “You know our son’s condition. Whether he can perform at all is one thing, even if he can, there’s no guarantee he can father a child.”
“Last time, Old Zhang came and said that our son doesn’t have much time left. If he doesn’t have a child, our Zhao family line will end!”
“You are not young anymore, wife. Old Zhang said it would be risky for you to have another child. How could I let you take that risk?”
At this point, the old man looked at the fat woman and continued, “So I thought, I am also a man of the Zhao family, and our son is also a man of the Zhao family. I still have some hope, why don’t we work together?”
“The wider the net, the more fish you catch!”
Shen Roujia’s understanding of morality and ethics was shattered by the old man’s words. If this was acceptable, what was the difference between humans and animals?
Just as Shen Roujia thought the woman would refuse, she saw her hesitate. Her expression softened slightly. She loosened her grip on the man and muttered, “You disgusting man!”
The man clutched his stomach and got to his feet. The woman said, “What’s the rush? This girl is filthy, don’t you want her to wash up first? You don’t want to catch something!”
When the man heard this, his face immediately showed joy and he asked timidly, “So… shall I go and boil water now?
The woman’s expression was still sour, but she seemed to agree.
They left the room together.
A short time later, the woman returned with a bucket of water and a set of clothes.
“Come over here! Take off your clothes!”
She walked over to Shen Roujia and roughly untied her. The woman’s movements were painful, and Shen Roujia’s heart pounded as she knew what was to come.
The woman was strong. Any resistance from Shen Roujia was met with a painful pinch. Shen Roujia was too weak to resist.
At this point, she felt resigned. But she still didn’t want this woman to touch her.
“I’ll wash up, you… you go out.”
“What? Are you thinking of running away again? Don’t even dream of it!”
Shen Roujia felt uncomfortable with the woman watching her. But she had endured so much discomfort already. At least the woman wasn’t a human. Even though it was uncomfortable, there seemed to be no other choice.
She was truly afraid.
After quickly washing, Shen Roujia put on the thin garment. The woman took her arm and led her outside. The door opened and sunlight washed over Shen Roujia, warming her skin.
Shen Roujia had never realized how precious sunlight could be. She wasn’t being overly sentimental. She truly felt that this might be the last sunlight she would ever feel.
“Hurry up! Why are you dawdling?!”
As they walked, Shen Roujia suddenly stopped. The woman was about to explode with rage. But before she could utter a word, Shen Roujia tried desperately to free herself.
She bit down hard on the woman’s arm, and the woman, yelping in pain, loosened her grip.
Shen Roujia broke free of the woman’s hand and ran forward.
She had originally intended to run into the wall and kill herself. That way it would all be over and she wouldn’t have to endure any more humiliation.
But then she saw the closed courtyard gate.
She knew how to open it.
She knew her life could end here. If she couldn’t escape, she would be forced to bear children for this family, just as the woman had said.
This was absolutely impossible.
Her only option was death.
Even if she escaped, she would be caught and brought back. No one would help her, no one could be trusted. There would be no miracle.
From the moment she was captured, she shouldn’t have dreamed of regaining her freedom.
But maybe she was just too scared to die.
So at that moment, the shadow of death receded. She poured all her courage into one last desperate gamble. She chose to run towards the gate.
The vicious dog barked beside her, and the woman immediately caught up with her. Shen Roujia shook her hand, and the woman tore her clothes from her shoulders. But she didn’t care, and ran out as soon as the gate opened.
The woman was only a few meters behind her.
The path outside the gate wasn’t wide. Shen Roujia, still barefoot, ran as fast as she could, but she could feel the woman closing in.
“Little bitch, you dare to run away again? This time I’ll break your legs!”
Tears welled up in Shen Roujia’s eyes, blurring her vision.
She had rarely cried since Qingrong left, but now the tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
She wasn’t afraid, but she didn’t know why she was crying.
She was just so tired.
If she couldn’t escape this time, so be it.
Just then, she saw a tall man walking towards her.
Through her tears, she couldn’t see his face clearly.
But she could see that he was tall, his back straight, his steps steady as he walked towards her.
Shen Roujia knew that this man probably knew the woman who was chasing her. If she asked for help, she might be sent back.
But she decided to risk it anyway.
She ran towards the man desperately
If this man sent her back, then that was her fate. But if he helped her…
The wind whistled past her ears. The warm April sunlight washed over her like a huge, gentle hand, erasing the cold of winter, the coldness of countless nights.
He was her last hope, a chance she had to take at any cost.
She reached the man, gasping for breath, her legs weak.
Clutching his sleeve tightly with both hands, she bowed her head, sobbing and choking, tears falling one by one, and said, “Kind sir…, please save me…”
“Please…”
“Please save me…”
The woman caught up, hands on hips, cursing. “You little whore! I will beat you to death today!”
Shen Roujia shrank back, not daring to look at the woman, just holding onto the man’s sleeve, crying and begging.
“Please…”
“Save me, please save me…”
Her life depended on this stranger.
In these few months, she had wanted to die countless times. But the instinct of a human being was to survive, even if she couldn’t go back, even if she didn’t know where she was.
She still wanted to live.
She begged and begged, like a dying animal.
Suddenly, a hand covered hers, the hand that gripped the man’s sleeve. She could feel the rough calluses on his palm, but it was a large hand, radiating warmth.
He held her hand gently, pulling her slightly behind him.
Then she heard a voice above her. It was a deep, slightly cold voice that sent shivers down her spine.
She heard him say, “Don’t be afraid, come behind me.”
