Only then did the director read out the dare that Pei Wang had drawn: “Kiss your partner.”

He crumpled the paper into a ball and muttered, “I have a feeling this dare is exactly what you wanted, isn’t it?”

Pei Wang didn’t respond. He tilted his head slightly and showed the director a faint smile: “Does this count as completing the task?”

The director nodded: “Yes, yes, it counts.”

Pei Wang gently nodded and walked over to the pointer, casually fiddling with it.

The pointer swayed and turned twice before stopping back at the original position.

It’s still Pei Wang.

Ren Lishu exclaimed, “You guys have such luck.”

She turned her head, carefully comparing, and then tapped the armrest of Qiao Xian’s chair, whispering, “Isn’t the pointer a bit off?”

She squinted and observed, “Why does it seem to point more towards Jiang Shu?”

The pointer’s position did look somewhat centered, and the director used an infrared light to assist in judging, then called out, “Jiang Shu—”

Jiang Shu was still a bit dazed.

She was still thinking about Pei Wang’s words and the kiss from earlier, when she suddenly heard her name. Almost instinctively, she stood up from her seat.

She asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”

The director handed both boxes of question papers to her: “It’s your turn again.”

He asked, “Truth or Dare?”

Jiang Shu instinctively reached for the truth box: “I’ll go with this one.”

She rummaged inside, pulled out a piece of paper from the corner, and looked down: “Eh?”

Jiang Shu flipped the paper over to check, then handed it to the director: “It’s blank.”

Her eyes widened in anticipation as she asked, “Does this mean I don’t have to answer?”

The director smiled slightly: “It’s a grand prize.”

He took the blank paper from Jiang Shu and then shoved a color-printed version of the Truth or Dare instructions into her hand: “But you still have to answer.”

Jiang Shu: “?”

She looked skeptically at the director, then glanced down at the color-printed instructions, from which she found the explanation regarding the blank paper—

It means the person who spun the pointer poses the question.

This was rather malicious rule, but—

The person who just spun the pointer was Pei Wang!

Jiang Shu slowly turned her head and raised her eyebrows to look at Pei Wang.

She even secretly hooked his finger, murmuring, “Brother, you won’t make things difficult for me, right?”

Probably due to the heat, the little girl’s hand was slightly sweaty, soft and warm against his fingers.

Pei Wang slightly closed his hand around Jiang Shu’s, then lowered his eyes, submissively replied, “I won’t.”

He asked her a very simple question, which Jiang Shu answered smoothly before going to spin the pointer.

The director violently ran his fingers through his hair.

The carefully prepared highlights of the show had quietly been rendered useless.

The following rounds were rather uneventful; Qu Mei and Yu Zhen each got the chance once, paying to skip the questions, while Qiao Xian drew once but it was an inconsequential question.

It wasn’t until Lin Hui drew that a small highlight appeared.

The question she drew was quite ordinary, asking if she had any regrets from her past relationship, and she shot a glance at Wang Siyuan before answering, “I forgot to take the contraceptive pill.”

The guests all froze in shock, Ren Lishu gasping in disbelief and leaning forward: “Is this something that can be aired?”

To regret such a matter evidently hinted at certain consequences—

Lin Hui might have been pregnant.

For an unmarried female star to get pregnant could be considered a scandal. Such things could be dealt with privately, but if exposed, Lin Hui’s career would at least take a major hit.

Lin Hui retracted her gaze and looked at her toes: “I was able to say it.” She smiled, “What’s wrong with that?”

Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian exchanged glances.

Ren Lishu wanted to say something more, but after seeing Lin Hui’s expression, she sighed, swallowing her words: “Forget it.”

Lin Hui calmly walked to the center and spun the pointer again.

Jiang Shu blinked and leaned closer to Pei Wang, whispering, “Look at Wang Siyuan’s expression.”

Wang Siyuan’s eyes widened first, then he quickly furrowed his brow, lowering and then raising his gaze; every muscle on his face conveyed his surprise.Jiang Shu whispered, “Does he not know about this?”

Pei Wang looked over, and as Jiang Shu was waiting for his response, the director suddenly called out, “Jiang Shu.”

She hurriedly stood up, a look of disbelief on her face: “It’s me again?”

The director smiled and handed her both boxes: “Draw for yourself.”

With her head hanging low, Jiang Shu pulled out a slip of paper from the Truth box and glanced down at it, frowning: “Director.”

She rubbed the paper hard, skeptical: “Is your little box rigged? Otherwise, how is it possible—”

Frustrated, Jiang Shu unfolded the slip: “It’s blank again.”

The director leaned over to take a look and burst into laughter: “It really is blank.”

He turned the box in his hand to prove his innocence: “It’s just a regular box.”

He couldn’t help but add, “There are a hundred slips of paper in here, and I only put three blank ones.”

Jiang Shu: “…”

The director could have simply told her it was her turn, but instead, he decided to give her two blank papers.

Lin Hui stood by the pointer, surprised: “Am I asking the question?”

Seeing the director nod, she almost instinctively threw out her question: “I heard President Pei say at the village entrance yesterday that you and Jiang Shu aren’t blood-related.”

Lin Hui gestured, invitingly: “I want to hear the backstory.”

Jiang Shu blinked.

She turned her head to make eye contact with Pei Wang, who pinched her fingertip and whispered, “We have plenty of money; you don’t have to answer.”

They had already answered quite a few questions, and combined with the money saved up from yesterday, they were close to one hundred already.

Jiang Shu tilted her head: “Why not answer?”

She boldly stated, “I’m a child adopted by my parents, so we don’t have a blood relation.”

Jiang Shu thought for a moment and then added, “We’re not even on the same household registry.”

Her last comment was rather amusing, prompting Ren Lishu to glance at them for a moment before she huffed, “Sister, you’re on the boat’s front—”

Qiao Xian covered her mouth, looking apologetically at Jiang Shu. He then said softly, “Don’t start some countryside trend here.”

He actively urged the director, “Isn’t it time to draw the next person?”

Truth or Dare continued, but the next few draws were mundane, and the director sighed before raising the small megaphone: “Let’s eat.”

Lunch was the usual boxed meal. During the morning’s Truth or Dare, aside from Yu Zhen and Qu Mei, most of the others had earned a bit of money from it. Therefore, they ordered a particularly generous amount of boxed meals.

Jiang Shu and Pei Wang ordered two boxed meals. She opened her disposable chopsticks, but before she could eat, she noticed someone sitting next to her.

It was Ren Lishu.

She placed her boxed meal on the table, didn’t take the disposable chopsticks, but rather turned her head to smile at Jiang Shu: “I didn’t dare to ask before when the cameras were on.”

She lowered her voice and laughed: “Is this brother of yours your boyfriend?”
