The Fake Daughter Want to Be Villainess - Chapter 59
Pei Wang glanced at Jiang Shu with a smirk but chose not to respond.
Jiang Shu had only been expressing her thoughts casually and didn’t pay much attention to Pei Wang’s reaction.
She held onto her Ice Popsicle, leaned against the back of the chair, and exchanged a few words with the girl. Turning her head again, she realized that Pei Wang had already finished cleaning the entire yard.
Jiang Shu was taken aback. “You did it so quickly.”
Feeling a bit guilty about having done nothing, Jiang Shu noticed that Pei Wang still held the unopened Ice Popsicle. She reached out, saying, “Let me help you open it.”
Pei Wang didn’t refuse.
He handed the Ice Popsicle to Jiang Shu and returned the cleaning tools to the girl. “Thank you for the popsicle and the information.”
Then, he took the opened Ice Popsicle from Jiang Shu and naturally took her hand. “Let’s go.”
When they arrived at the village entrance, Lin Hui and Ren Lishu happened to be there as well.
The four of them squeezed around a small table, passionately disputing over the last remaining ordinary guesthouse.
Ren Lishu tugged at Lin Hui’s hand, playing the pitiful card. “Huihui.”
She squinted her eyes, and tears welled up at the corners. “Look at me and your Qiao Xian brother; we are older now, our backs are bad, and our legs aren’t great, can you cut us a break?”
Lin Hui was a bit at a loss.
She knew that Ren Lishu was acting—there was no subtlety in her performance, which was even quite exaggerated.
However, what Ren Lishu said was indeed true.
Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian were older. If Lin Hui insisted on competing with them for this room, they would surely face backlash in the public discussion after the program aired.
Yet, they didn’t want to stay in that low-rated room either.
Lin Hui and Ren Lishu were at a standoff when Pei Wang glanced at them and then gently tapped Jiang Shu’s palm.
He lowered his voice, “Do you want to stay in a big bed room?”
Jiang Shu tilted her head to look at him. “Of course I want to, but we don’t have enough money—”
Pei Wang brushed her slightly messy bangs. “It’s okay.”
He led Jiang Shu over, smiling as he asked, “Why is everyone gathered around the table?”
Pei Wang had heard their conversation, but he still lowered his eyelashes and asked deliberately, “Did the director say something again?”
Lin Hui and Ren Lishu exchanged glances and then Lin Hui spoke first. “No.”
She forced a laugh. “We are discussing who will get the remaining ordinary guesthouse.”
Lin Hui couldn’t help but let out a sigh. “What a coincidence; we just happened to arrive with Ren and the others.”
If there had been even a slight time difference, it wouldn’t have felt so awkward.
Ren Lishu chimed in, “Sigh, why does the Program Team have to do this? It’s clearly forcing us to create some conflict.”
She shook her head. “I don’t know which team snatched away a room first.”
With three teams already there, she instinctively guessed, “Was it Yu Zhen and Qu Mei?”
Ren Lishu lamented, “Their speed is really impressive.”
Pei Wang chuckled. “It was our team.”
Ren Lishu immediately swallowed the rest of her words. She stared at Pei Wang for a moment and then let out a sigh. “President Pei really is quite reserved.”
She casually asked, “How much has your team saved up in total?”
Pei Wang replied gently, “One hundred sixty.”
Jiang Shu tilted her head to glance at him. “Aren’t we—”
Earlier, Pei Wang had earned one hundred thirty, and she had earned twenty points. Adding the two tasks of corn-shelling and cleaning the yard, they had reached one hundred seventy points.
Pei Wang lightly pinched her fingertips.
Jiang Shu blinked, instinctively swallowing the second half of her sentence.
However, Ren Lishu heard the incomplete statement and turned her head to look, smiling mischievously. “What do you mean ‘aren’t we’?”
Jiang Shu didn’t understand why Pei Wang reported twenty points less, but she instinctively went along with it.
She flashed a shy smile, tilted her head toward Pei Wang, and tugged at his sleeve. “We only have one hundred forty, right?”
Pei Wang nodded slightly and touched her palm. “Did you forget about this?””Then it will be one hundred sixty.”
He looked up and turned to Ren Lishu. “How much have you saved, Teacher Ren?”
Ren Lishu waved her hand. “Not as much as you guys, I’ve only saved one hundred thirty.”
Pei Wang turned to Lin Hui again. “What about you?”
Lin Hui offered a bitter smile. “We only have one hundred twenty.”
Pei Wang furrowed his brow and smiled. He handed the task card to the staff and then casually asked, “Have you decided who will get the remaining ordinary guesthouse?”
Lin Hui and Ren Lishu both remained silent.
Pei Wang chuckled again. “Actually, Jiang Shu and I are willing to sell that ordinary guesthouse.”
Ren Lishu and Lin Hui looked over at him in unison.
Pei Wang didn’t meet their gaze; instead, he lowered his eyelashes and said somewhat regretfully, “But we don’t have enough money to buy a big bed room.”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “I wonder if you could accept the ordinary guesthouse being priced at one hundred twenty per room?”
Ren Lishu was taken aback. “Increase the price? But isn’t the price set by the program team?”
She glanced at the price list and suddenly realized, “Oh, you mean that we give you one hundred twenty.”
Each group would take out one hundred twenty, paying eighty to the program team for their room, while they would take the one that Pei Wang had.
Ren Lishu frowned.
After recording two episodes with the program team, they had become accustomed to their tendencies. That simple dormitory would undoubtedly be shockingly basic, possibly just a bed in a pigsty.
If they didn’t agree to Pei Wang’s suggestion, one of the two groups would definitely be forced to stay in the communal dormitory.
Rather than gamble on the odds, it would be better to spend an extra twenty bucks for peace of mind.
Ren Lishu and Lin Hui exchanged glances, then pulled in Qiao Xian and Wang Siyuan, quietly discussing for a while before they approached Pei Wang.
Lin Hui first handed twenty to Pei Wang, then turned around and purchased the remaining ordinary guesthouse.
Ren Lishu turned her head and took money from Qiao Xian, carefully counting one hundred twenty for Pei Wang before finally taking the accommodation card from Jiang Shu.
She couldn’t help but sigh, “President Pei’s company is indeed large for a reason.”
The two groups took their accommodation cards and left, while Pei Wang walked up to the table and handed the money to the staff. “Hello, we would like one Sunshine En-Suite King Room.”
The first group to buy a big bed room also had priority in selection.
Jiang Shu found a somewhat familiar address among several options. “Let’s go with this one?”
She tilted her head. “I think that girl was very enthusiastic.”
Pei Wang nodded, paid the money, and received the accommodation card. He then casually picked a task, handing both cards to Jiang Shu, and they left the village entrance together.
The staff let out a sigh.
Was it him that was not clean? Why did his mind always fill with strange thoughts since he saw the two of them holding hands?
But it really felt like he was handing his salary card over to his wife.
