The Fake Daughter Want to Be Villainess - Chapter 41
Pei Songyu’s interest in this matter completely exceeded Pei Wang’s expectations.
He spent a long time talking to Pei Songyu about Jiang Shu, until the nurse knocked on the door, reminding Pei Songyu that it was time for her treatment today.
Pei Songyu frowned.
There isn’t actually a very effective treatment plan for late-stage malignant lymphoma; most of it is medication intervention or chemotherapy.
The nurse had come to take her for chemotherapy.
She was unaware that Pei Wang had already understood the true nature of her illness yet was still trying to hide it from him—
Pei Songyu pushed the tablet forward, then lifted the covers and sat at the edge of the bed. “I need to go for treatment.”
She looked up and smiled brightly at Pei Wang. “Are you still going to linger here? It’s such a beautiful afternoon; aren’t you going to visit the Jiang Family?”
Pei Songyu stood up and gently nudged Pei Wang’s shoulder, urging him, “There are enough care workers and doctors here.”
Pei Wang was ushered out of the ward.
Feeling somewhat helpless, he stood at the door for a while before turning to the doctor’s office on the same floor.
Pei Songyu’s attending physician was present.
Pei Wang knocked on the door; the attending physician looked over and nodded at him. “Hello.”
He stood up from his seat and retrieved a folder from the shelf. “Are you here to inquire about Pei Songyu’s condition?”
He had actually met this family member last week.
This family member was quite perceptive; although the patient had requested that they keep the illness hidden from the family, they could not avoid the truth.
The family member had come alone to ask him about the patient’s specific condition and to thoroughly understand their treatment plan.
Unfortunately, the options were quite limited.
While Pei Wang and the Jiang Family’s financial resources could fully support the best treatment plans, the medical limits were already set, and there was nothing to be done about it.
The attending physician explained, “Based on the current results of the chemotherapy, the prognosis is relatively optimistic; the condition has stabilized for now.”
He reassured Pei Wang, “Don’t worry too much.”
Pei Wang didn’t respond to that; he simply smiled. “Thank you.”
He continued to discuss the illness with the doctor and left the hospital after Pei Songyu’s chemotherapy was completed and returned to the company.
……………………………..
Jiang Shu sat painfully in the office.
This morning, she had breakfast with Father Jiang, who asked her if she wanted to come to the company, saying there was a new product launch she could watch, so she eagerly followed along.
However, once they arrived, Father Jiang suddenly slapped his thigh as if he had just remembered. “Oh, the launch seems to be tomorrow.”
He looked at her slowly. “Since you’re already here, why don’t you help your dad look over some documents?”
So much for being already here.
Jiang Shu angrily opened the document in her hands, fuming as she realized she felt like Father Jiang had tricked her.She had already spent the whole day looking through documents.
In fact, she couldn’t really help Father Jiang with anything; he would need to review all the documents she had looked at again. He must have tricked her into coming over, probably hoping to have her try to get involved in some company matters.
Jiang Shu sighed again.
She briefly flipped through the document, skimming it without much focus, and then handed it to Father Jiang.
However, he did not take it.
He turned to Jiang Shu and waved his hand, pushing the document back towards her. “I won’t be looking at this.”
“Our Shu Cub has seen so many documents today; it can’t be for nothing.” He held a pen, smiling cheerfully, “How about you take charge of this project?”
Jiang Shu: “?”
Jiang Shu slowly straightened up. “Dad?”
She looked at Jiang Tingyuan in shock. “Are you sure? I don’t know anything and I might mess up this collaboration, and—”
Father Jiang clicked his tongue, “Haven’t you glanced at this project document at all?”
Jiang Shu held the contract and innocently blinked.
At first, when Father Jiang gave her the documents, she would take a serious look. But once she realized that he would review everything she had already looked at, she began to become more perfunctory.
Father Jiang shook his head. “This is a collaboration with Jinghua; you won’t screw it up.”
Jinghua is Pei Wang’s company.
Father Jiang smiled encouragingly. “Go on, read the document two more times. Tomorrow I’ll have the person in charge of this project go with you to Jinghua.”
Jiang Shu couldn’t find a reason to refuse, and she truly wanted to see Pei Wang’s company—
So she hesitantly took the document back, reluctantly looking it over again.
Jiang Shu not only re-examined the project document, but also added the person in charge as a friend and asked her a lot of questions.
She pondered over the project for an entire evening. Once she ensured that she had a general understanding of the collaboration, Jiang Shu went to Jinghua Corporation with the person in charge.
The person in charge was surnamed Liu, a woman in her early thirties, with very neat short hair, dressed in a complete suit.
Jiang Shu took her to Jinghua’s office.
Jinghua’s headquarters had recently moved to Jing City. Due to the skyrocketing real estate prices in Jing City over the years, the headquarters building was located in a suburban area.
Jiang Shu had thought that Jinghua’s building would have a touch of technological flair since it was a company primarily engaged in computer-related industries. However, once they entered, she found that the décor was no different from that of the Jiang family’s office. She entered the elevator, disappointed, and pressed the button for the floor.
A young man with very short hair and light-colored irises, somewhat close to amber, greeted them.
He was evidently already acquainted with the person in charge, who proactively introduced him, saying, “This is Manager Lin from Jinghua Medical, Mr. Lin Yuan.”
“This is our group’s—” the person in charge thought for a moment, “Little Jiang.”
Lin Yuan extended his hand. “Hello, Little Jiang—”
He realized something was off.
Typically, when introducing a partner, the prefix “Little” is not used unless the person above has another title, in which case she would be an heir.
Lin Yuan paused for a second and then asked, “Are you Miss Jiang Shu?”
He saw Jiang Shu nod.
Lin Yuan immediately smiled, shook hands with Jiang Shu, and sincerely said, “I’ve long heard of your esteemed name.”
A couple of days earlier, after he spoke with Pei Wang through WeChat, he had been curious about what this “younger sister” would be like.
Lin Yuan gestured for her to follow him, saying, “Let me show you our research institute.”
The collaboration between □□ and Jinghua focuses on the medical field, where □□ provides investment and equipment support, while Jinghua conducts drug research and development. After the drugs are launched, both sides share the profits.
Jiang Shu came to assess the construction situation and talent reserves of the Jinghua research institute and to decide whether they could proceed with the collaboration and the subsequent profit sharing.
This was originally a very important task, but because the partner was Jinghua, it had mostly become a formality.
The research institute was located on the second and third floors of the building. Jiang Shu followed Lin Yuan for a tour and proactively said, “There are no issues.”
She blinked. “Shall we discuss the profit sharing?”
The Jiang family was not particularly concerned about how much they would receive; Father Jiang decided to collaborate with Jinghua not for financial gain but simply to provide equipment and help break the deadlock.
Lin Yuan smiled. “Sure.”
He led Jiang Shu into the elevator. “You’ll need to discuss the profit sharing with President Pei.”
The elevator quickly arrived at the designated floor. Lin Yuan took them to the executive office, symbolically knocked on the door, and then pushed it open.
Just as he was about to call Pei Wang, a female voice suddenly echoed from inside, “President Pei.”
“How could you skip breakfast?” the voice asked. “I specially bought breakfast for you; would you like to try it?”
Jiang Shu: “?”
She widened her eyes, immediately alert.
