The director cast a disappointed glance at Pei Wang.

“You sure know how to time things,” he muttered as he accepted the points vouchers, checked them, and then announced, “Three points.”

The director handed the vouchers to a staff member standing nearby. “It seems everyone had quite a productive afternoon.”

“After running around all afternoon, I wonder if everyone is hungry?” He stood up and walked over to a nearby food cart, retrieving a box of food from inside.

He deliberately opened the lid, and the aroma of the meal wafted out immediately.

The dinner was fried rice, with ham, corn, a small amount of vegetables mixed with golden grains of rice, radiating an enticing fragrance. The director unwrapped a pair of disposable chopsticks and took a bite of the rice in front of everyone.

He comfortably squinted his eyes, sighing, “So delicious.”

Then he put down the chopsticks, surveyed the surroundings, and cheerfully asked, “Ah, doesn’t anyone want to join me for a meal?”

The director raised his finger. “Today’s dinner is reasonably priced, fair for everyone—a point for a serving.”

Ren Lishu frowned, seemingly about to say something, but Yu Zhen cut in ahead of her, “I’ll have a serving.”

She and Qu Mei only had one point between them, so it didn’t matter whether they spent it or not, as they were at the bottom anyway.

Yu Zhen took a serving of the meal, glanced at the disposable utensils under the food cart, then side-eyed Qu Mei and casually said, “If you want, I could share half with you.”

Qu Mei coldly declined, “Too many carbs.”

Yu Zhen’s expression froze for a moment; she probably felt that joining her like that was rather dull. Holding her box of food, she walked to a corner to eat alone.

Ren Lishu glanced at Yu Zhen, then turned to the director, asking with concern, “Will the allocation of rooms be based on the points after dinner?”

“Of course,” the director rolled his eyes. “Otherwise, why would you eat and drink for free?”

Ren Lishu frowned. She turned to whisper a few words to Qiao Xian, then looked back at the director, asking with little hope, “Will there be any ingredients provided in the rooms?”

The director looked at her strangely and countered, “Are you dreaming?”

Ren Lishu fell silent for a moment.

She exchanged glances with Qiao Xian, then spoke up, “We’d like a serving of rice; can you give us a set of disposable utensils?”

Counting the points from the morning task, their group had 3.5 points, Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan’s group had 4.5, while Jiang Shu and Pei Wang’s group had 3 points.

With the scores so close, they didn’t dare splurge on ordering two servings.

Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan exchanged looks before saying, “We’ll have the same as them.”

The director handed over the box of food and disposable utensils to them, then turned to Jiang Shu and asked, “What about you guys?”

He picked up another serving of food from the food cart and waved it in front of Jiang Shu. “You only want one?”

Jiang Shu hesitated.

The other two groups only requested one meal, and even the group with the lowest score, Ren Lishu’s, had 2.5 points now, so it wouldn’t affect the ranking whether she ordered one or two servings.

She didn’t really want to share a meal with Pei Wang again, but she worried the director might cause trouble. Those points had other uses—

“We don’t want the box of food.”

Before she could come up with a reason, she heard Pei Wang’s voice.

She abruptly looked up, stunned at Pei Wang, then quickly turned to the director, saying, “I want it!”

The director smiled at her, enticingly saying, “The points in the group can be used without the other party’s consent, you know.”

He held the box of food, the lid clattering against the bottom with a sharp sound.

Jiang Shu hesitantly stepped forward.

She wanted to have dinner, and what’s wrong with the Vicious Supporting Female Character going against the lead’s wishes? Wasn’t this creating an opportunity for a comeback?

She instinctively turned to look at Pei Wang.

Pei Wang wore a gentle expression, and he even apologized to her, “Sorry, I forgot to ask for your opinion.”

He turned to the director and said, “Then we’ll take one serving—”

“No.” Jiang Shu hastily raised her hand, pressing down on Pei Wang’s arm.

His compliance made her feel like she was being unreasonable. Jiang Shu hesitated for a moment and decided to trust Pei Wang: “I won’t have it.”

After all, she still had some snacks left. The director sighed with disappointment, “Fine then.” He placed the lunch box back on the food cart, waited for everyone to finish their meals, and then signaled the staff to push the cart away. “Since the points have already been tallied.”

He stood up from his chair and waved his hand, “Let’s go, I’ll show you where you’ll be staying.”

The Program Team led them to a standalone villa. The villa was by the sea, with a large yard, and to match the ocean view, the main building was blue, looking serene and elegant.

The director spread his arms in front of the gate, “See that!” he said with excitement, “What a luxurious villa! Our Program Team is so generous!”

Ren Lishu shot him a silent glare.

No one paid him any attention, and the director shook his head regretfully, “You really don’t know how to appreciate it.”

He pointed at the villa in the middle of the yard and said to Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan, “You can pick any room on the second floor.”

Then he turned to Jiang Shu and Pei Wang, pressing his finger down, “The nanny room on the basement level is for the two of you.”

The director shifted his body to show a smile to Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian, pointing slightly, “Here, this is where you two will be staying tonight.”

Jiang Shu instinctively looked in the direction the director was pointing.

It was the security guard’s room of the villa.

Since the security guard needed to be on duty at night, the guard room generally had a bed. However, as there was usually only one security guard, the bed was mostly a single bed.

Jiang Shu suddenly felt that Pei Wang’s choice was extremely wise.

Not eating dinner left her with some snacks to fill her stomach, but staying in the guard’s room would really be—

Too tragic.

She cast a sympathetic glance at Ren Lishu, just as the director’s voice rang out again, “As for you two.”

He pointed at Yu Zhen and Qu Mei, raised his hand to open the yard gate, leading everyone into the yard, and pointed to a tent under the pavilion in the yard, “You’ll be staying here.”

Qu Mei moved her lips but did not make a sound.

Yu Zhen stepped out from the guests, walked around the tent, and looked at the director incredulously, “Are we really staying here?”

She tugged at the outer cover of the tent, “With this flimsy plastic, it’ll be blown through by the wind, right?”

“Nonsense!” The director corrected her loudly, “This tent is produced by Yuntian Company, using new technology! The titanium alloy frame can withstand level nine winds, and the double-layer tent surface provides excellent insulation—it’s a must-have for outdoor trips!”

He raised his index finger, shaking it back and forth, “Don’t slander it.”

Lin Hui laughed behind him, “Is this the program’s sponsor?”

The director glared at her unhappily, “What sponsor? Quickly call him Golden Patron!”

With his hands behind his back, he walked around the outside of the tent, praising it, “What a fine tent!”

He urged Yu Zhen and Qu Mei, “Aren’t you going to go in and take a look?”

Yu Zhen helplessly unzipped the tent, bent down, and crawled inside. The director smiled, cast another glance at Qu Mei, and gestured for her to go in as well. Then, he turned his gaze naturally to Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian, “Aren’t you two going to see your room?”

He deliberately prolonged his tone, “Aren’t you excited?”

Ren Lishu shot the director a helpless glance, then turned to walk toward her “very exciting” guard room.

The director watched them enter the room, then turned to the remaining four, “Let’s go.”

He slapped the keychain hanging from his waist and boasted, “I’ll take you to see your room!”

First, they went to the second floor, where the guest rooms were suites. Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan each picked one to enter. Then the director waved his hand again, leading them to the basement level.

The basement level was the activity center and garage; the nanny room was at the far corner, not very large, also a small suite.

The director indicated for them to go in, “This is your room for tonight.”

This was Jiang Shu’s first time in the nanny room, and she curiously pushed the door open, peeking inside.

She first saw a small kitchen; next to it was a small washing machine, and further in was the bathroom, then the door to the bedroom.Jiang Shu carefully pushed the door open.

The bedroom was smaller than she had imagined. There was a narrow bed on either side of the entrance, both of which were 1.2 meters wide, and a row of cabinets at the head of the beds.

The director’s voice came through her earpiece: “Alright, all our guests have arrived at their rooms.”

His tone was lighthearted: “We don’t have any fixed activities tonight, so I wish everyone a pleasant evening.”

The voice in her earpiece stopped. Jiang Shu blinked and extended her hand towards Pei Wang, “My snacks.”

Pei Wang placed a bag next to her hand.

Jiang Shu hugged the bag to her chest, wanting to find something more filling, and began rummaging through it haphazardly, pulling out two packets of instant noodles.

“Pei Wang,” she called out, “We have a kitchen, pots, and instant noodles.”

Jiang Shu blinked and asked softly, “Can you boil water?”

Pei Wang took the two packets of instant noodles from her and replied with a lowered gaze, “Mm.”

Jiang Shu’s eyes brightened. She pointed at the bags in Pei Wang’s hand, “Then we have vegetables too.”

She looked at him eagerly, “Are you willing to wash the vegetables?”

Pei Wang opened the bedroom door and placed the plastic bags on the marble countertop in the kitchen: “Sure.”

Jiang Shu was even more excited, “We also have fish.”

She hesitated for a moment, “The fish are unprocessed; can you handle them?”

Jiang Shu felt a bit worried.

Pei Wang had a somewhat aloof aura, and she thought he seemed more suited to wield a paintbrush, a violin bow, or a scalpel. In short, he didn’t seem like the type to enter a kitchen.

Jiang Shu added eagerly, “If you can’t, it’s alright; having vegetables and noodles is already great—”

“Miss.” Pei Wang suddenly called out to her, a hint of helplessness in his expression.

He sighed, “Just relax.”
