Chen Xin did not consult Luo Jing about this matter. She had already made up her mind.

A few days later, Luo Jing was having lunch at school. That morning, she had once again been bullied by Li Cheng and her group of friends. Not wanting to eat in the cafeteria or classroom, she found a quiet corner on campus, sat down with a sandwich in hand, and called Chen Xin. It had become a habit for the two of them to eat together remotely from time to time.

However, Chen Xin was not answering her phone today for some unknown reason. Luo Jing began to feel uneasy. She wondered whether Chen Xin was busy or if something might have happened.

Just as her anxiety was building, a message suddenly popped up from Chen Xin. “At the school gate.”

Luo Jing stared at the message in confusion but still walked to the school gate to see what was going on. There, she saw Chen Xin smiling at her, standing beside her silver and black luxury car.

“Chen Xin!” Luo Jing was overjoyed at the sight of her. Seeing her at school felt just like seeing family. Without caring about the other students around, she ran toward her and threw herself into Chen Xin’s arms. “Why are you here?”

“I came to see you,” Chen Xin answered simply, lifting the bag in her hand. “I also brought you some food.”

She knew that Luo Jing usually ate simple meals at school, likely just another sandwich or convenience box. Before coming over, Chen Xin had gone out of her way to pick up something delicious.

“I happen to have some free time. Want to eat together?” Chen Xin was well aware of Luo Jing’s class schedule. That afternoon, Luo Jing had no class during the first period, so they had plenty of time.

It was only then that Luo Jing realized they were still standing at the school gate. People around them had started to look their way. Their embrace seemed intimate, and Luo Jing recalled the recent gossip circulating among students. She grew self-conscious, pulled away slightly, and tried not to draw attention to the closeness between her and Chen Xin. “Sure. Where should we eat?”

Chen Xin leaned in and wrapped an arm around Luo Jing’s shoulders, refusing to let her pull away. “You can show me where you study. Wherever you take me, we will eat there.”

She then added with emphasis, “I am not sitting on the rooftop floor or any place like that.”

Luo Jing knew how particular Chen Xin was. There was no way she could bring her to any of the quiet corners she usually frequented. The cafeteria was too crowded, so she led Chen Xin to her classroom. Fortunately, it was empty. Luo Jing let out a breath of relief, pushed two desks together, and even wiped down the tables and chairs for Chen Xin.

Chen Xin was quite pleased by how Luo Jing was fussing over her. After sitting down, she pulled Luo Jing into the seat next to her. “That is enough. We are outside, so relax a little. I brought something delicious for you.”

She opened the bag, revealing several large wooden boxes. They were too many to fit on the two desks, so Luo Jing had to bring over a third. Every surface was completely covered.

When the boxes were opened, Luo Jing gasped in amazement. They were filled with sushi and sashimi, all looking incredibly fresh and appetizing. Chen Xin always shopped at upscale stores. It was impossible to guess how much she had spent on this feast.

Chen Xin picked up a piece and fed it into Luo Jing’s mouth. These were all the flavors she liked. The little one squinted her eyes in delight, nodding and humming with satisfaction. She was probably trying to say it was delicious.

There was so much food that after eating a few pieces, Luo Jing began to feel troubled. “This is way too much. We will never be able to finish it.”

Sushi does not keep well. Throwing it away would be such a shame.

Chen Xin simply smiled and offered her another bite. “It is fine. You should eat more.”

They continued eating, yet the food still seemed endless. Luo Jing was already half full when other students began wandering into the classroom. They were stunned by the sight of the sushi feast.

Teenagers are always craving something tasty. It was rare to eat sushi at school. Even after sitting down, the students could not stop glancing over. Their own lunches suddenly felt like a joke compared to the glossy sheen on the sashimi.

If they had been closer to Luo Jing, they would have rushed over already, shouting for a bite.

As more students entered the room, Luo Jing began to feel uneasy. She looked at Chen Xin and spoke quietly. “Should we pack this up? Maybe we can take it back and finish it later?”

“It will not taste fresh anymore.” Chen Xin had been waiting for this moment. Nearby, a few students had already been stealing glances at the sushi for quite a while. “Excuse me. Would you like to have some? I bought far too much.” She even pulled out several pairs of chopsticks.

The students were thrilled and hurried over. The sushi was so delicious that they nearly swallowed their tongues. Chen Xin kept smiling, but she was not used to eating from the same platters with so many people. She put down her chopsticks, having eaten enough anyway.

After devouring several pieces, one of the students finally asked curiously, “Luo Jing, who is she? Your sister?”

“Um, she is my…” Luo Jing struggled to find the words.

Chen Xin interrupted with a question of her own. “Us?” Then she pulled Luo Jing close and gave her a light kiss on the lips.

It was as if someone had suddenly dropped a bucket of gossip in the room. The students, mouths full of sushi, let out squeals. Their faces turned bright red and their eyes widened with curiosity. “You are dating?”

Chen Xin nodded and finally let go of Luo Jing, who was now blushing as red as an apple. “Jing Jing is always too shy to say it. Sometimes when I come to see her at school, she makes me park far away. She will only give me a kiss through the car window and always acts so sneaky. Honestly.”

She spoke as if complaining about an unromantic lover.

The girls were thrilled. This was a firsthand piece of gossip. Luo Jing was not being financially supported by someone. She had a wealthy, beautiful, and mature girlfriend.

For university students, this was major news. Having a partner who was already working in society was something many students liked to boast about. It made them feel more mature than their peers.

As for being in a same-s*x relationship, young people these days were very accepting. No one saw it as a problem.

“So the person in the photo is Luo Jing’s girlfriend?” one of the girls called out.

Chen Xin pretended not to understand. “What photo?”

Her question made the others look uncomfortable. Thinking that she genuinely did not know, and feeling grateful for the delicious food, they all pulled out their phones and started explaining what had been circulating online. Luo Jing panicked and tried to stop them, but her voice was too soft to compete with the excited chatter of the girls.

Chen Xin looked through the phones, and her expression darkened. “Jing Jing, why did you not tell me?”

Luo Jing said nothing. She just bit her lip.

Chen Xin turned to the girls and spoke calmly. “Please take screenshots of those rumors. If the language is too malicious, I plan to file a lawsuit.”

The girls were stunned. They had thought it was only online insults. It had never crossed their minds that they could be sued for it. They immediately felt relieved that they had not joined in on the comments. “Alright. I will screenshot them and send them to Luo Jing.”

Looking back at those posts now, they finally realized just how offensive the remarks had been.

Other students came in afterward, only to be caught up in the excited chatter. A few boys walked into the classroom, and one of the girls shouted, “Hey, Lu Ting, come here and look. Luo Jing’s girlfriend is stunning and even shared amazing food with everyone.”

Chen Xin smiled and spoke to the room. “There is still plenty left. If you want to eat, help yourself and do not be shy.”

All the chopsticks were taken immediately. Those who came late had no choice but to eat with their hands.

Lu Ting froze when he heard the word “girlfriend.” When he saw Chen Xin’s half-smiling expression, he was completely stunned and could not react at all.
