The Crybaby Mistress GL - Chapter 39
Chen Xin did not say a word. She grabbed Luo Jing’s hand and drove them back to the apartment in silence. After parking the car, she scanned her access card and pulled Luo Jing along in a brisk stride. Luo Jing had to jog to keep up, baffled by how Chen Xin could move so quickly in high heels.
Once they were inside the apartment, Chen Xin finally released her grip. Luo Jing at last had a moment to speak. As she looked toward Chen Xin, who was busy closing the door, she called out softly, “Miss Chen, I—”
However, Chen Xin clearly had no intention of letting her continue. She turned around, locked the door, and immediately pinned Luo Jing against the wall near the entrance. Without hesitation, she kissed her. Her tongue pushed between Luo Jing’s parted lips, tangling with hers and leaving her stunned and breathless.
It was unclear whether Chen Xin was stalling for time or simply overcome with excitement. Either way, she continued to kiss Luo Jing relentlessly, never giving her a chance to speak. Luo Jing initially thought to resist. But within moments, she gave in, her body softening into Chen Xin’s embrace. She leaned against the wall for support and wrapped her arms around Chen Xin’s neck to return the kiss.
At this point, any idea of a serious conversation was lost. Chen Xin pulled Luo Jing toward the bed, and they both tumbled onto it. After an intense and tangled encounter, they lay still, catching their breath. Their clothes were scattered across the floor. Luo Jing remained in Chen Xin’s arms, still trying to understand what had just taken place. They had come here to talk, yet their clothes had vanished, and the bed was soaked from her peak.
The more she thought about it, the more confused she became. She propped herself up slightly from Chen Xin’s chest, her expression puzzled. “Weren’t we supposed to talk? How did it end up like this?”
This was far too intense for what had been intended as a simple conversation.
Chen Xin gazed at the innocent, bewildered girl in her arms. The discussion had not been forgotten. However, in her view, the right atmosphere was essential to achieving the result she hoped for. She did not believe Luo Jing could still speak with reason or draw firm boundaries while lying bare beside her. “Of course we will talk,” she said, leaning down to plant another kiss on Luo Jing’s soft lips.
Luo Jing pressed her lips together, still damp from the kiss. Seeing Chen Xin smile at her so openly made her feel shy for reasons she could not explain. She wrapped herself tightly in the comforter and tried to sit up. Chen Xin gently pushed her back onto the bed.
“I want to sit up,” Luo Jing said.
Chen Xin arched an eyebrow. “You are not tired? Should we go again?” It seemed she felt Luo Jing had not taken things seriously enough.
“Lying down is fine. I really am tired,” Luo Jing replied immediately. She knew when to adapt. It was better to lie down willingly than be worn out completely and left with no strength at all.
Chen Xin held her with satisfaction. The mood between them did not resemble a serious conversation. Instead, they were enjoying the sweetness of the moment, exchanging tender whispers. Chen Xin tucked her hair behind her ear and finally said, “So you heard everything I said at the café.”
She tightened her embrace around Luo Jing. “Every word I said came from the heart. I just do not know how you will respond.” Her voice revealed a trace of vulnerability. Even at over thirty years old, confessing feelings was still nerve-racking.
Luo Jing rested her head on Chen Xin’s chest, listening to the quick beat of her heart. She hesitated. Her feelings for Chen Xin were real, yet many obstacles stood in their way. She spoke softly. “You know we cannot really stay together. Not in the long run. My family, and yours as well.”
It was not just a matter of whether her mother and sisters could accept it. Chen Xin still had a husband. There had also been that graceful and dignified woman from earlier. These were not easy issues to ignore.
Chen Xin responded, “Let’s not consider anyone else for the moment. I just want to hear your thoughts.”
Luo Jing fell silent. Chen Xin’s fingers began tracing small circles on her still-damp shoulder. “What I really want to know is whether you like me.”
This time, Luo Jing did not answer immediately. The gentle movement of Chen Xin’s fingers tickled slightly. She bit her lip, uncertain how to respond. It was a question she had never dared ask herself, one she had never allowed into her thoughts until now.
As her silence stretched on, Chen Xin began to feel anxious. Could it be that the girl in her arms had never developed feelings for her at all? She remembered the young man she had seen at Luo Jing’s school. Could it be that Luo Jing was actually straight? Had she only agreed to be with her because of money?
Chen Xin’s thoughts spiraled. Her brow furrowed, and her grip on Luo Jing’s shoulder tightened slightly. She even started to consider whether securing her physically first, then winning her heart later, might be the only way.
“Of course I like you,” Luo Jing finally whispered, her voice so quiet it nearly disappeared into the blankets. Yet Chen Xin heard every word.
She gently pushed Luo Jing upright, needing to see her face clearly.
Luo Jing’s cheeks were flushed red. She awkwardly covered her mouth with the back of her hand. Her embarrassment made her look like she might faint. Chen Xin could not help but laugh. “Really? Are you telling the truth?”
Luo Jing blushed even more under the questioning. She nodded shyly and stammered, “I—I really do like you, but—”
“Then stop saying ‘but’,” Chen Xin said with a joy she could not conceal. Luo Jing’s answer filled her with genuine happiness. The corners of her lips curved upward in an irrepressible smile. “If that is how you feel, then we should be together.”
“It will not be easy,” Luo Jing said. She wanted to be with Chen Xin, but only if those problems did not exist. Not just in a beautiful illusion.
Chen Xin leaned in and hugged her tightly. The warmth of the woman in her arms melted her heart. “As long as you are willing to be with me, I will handle everything else. Give me this chance, Luo Jing. Give me the opportunity to prove that it can work.”
Luo Jing remained in her embrace. They had both laid their hearts bare. She could clearly feel the intensity of Chen Xin’s emotions. Chen Xin asked her softly, “Do you believe in me?”
This was far more complicated than a simple promise. Luo Jing was not sure if Chen Xin was simply carried away by passion or if she truly had a way to make it happen. Neither possibility would be easy. Passion alone might not be enough to overcome the obstacles ahead.
However, Luo Jing wanted to dream a little too.
“Do you believe in me, Luo Jing? Do you believe we can be together?” Chen Xin whispered close to her ear. Her voice was as seductive as a devil tempting a soul with the sweetest vision. There was so much promise in her tone that it seemed as if nodding her head would unlock a beautiful future.
Luo Jing held her more tightly, her arms circling around Chen Xin with growing resolve. “I believe you.”
Their embrace deepened as they tasted the forbidden sweetness of love. It was so intoxicating, it felt like a dream. Deep down, they both knew the nature of their relationship had changed. From this night onward, they could no longer return to a simple arrangement of financial support. Yet neither of them wished to let go, as if this intimacy had always been their fate, something neither could now abandon.
