The Crybaby Mistress GL - Chapter 26
Chen Xin had filled an entire wardrobe with clothes for Luo Jing. Every piece had been paid for with Chen Xin’s own card. Luo Jing’s old clothes had been pushed into a small corner, leaving her to spend time each morning struggling with the decision of what to wear. Chen Xin had said these were all gifts for her.
Luo Jing was not sure whether being kept always involved this kind of treatment. It was very different from what she had imagined. Instead of feeling like someone being supported, it felt more like she was dating a wealthy, generous woman.
She could not understand why someone with such good conditions would need to keep a partner. Perhaps that was simply how the wealthy thought. To them, spending money was just a form of entertainment.
Still, this was not something she needed to dwell on. She had class to attend. So, she grabbed a random outfit and rushed out the door.
At present, she was dressed entirely in designer brands. On top of that, Chen Xin had insisted she be chauffeured to and from school each day. This kind of treatment made her appear like a rich young lady. Luo Jing herself did not think much of it. All of this came from Chen Xin, and it had nothing to do with anyone else. She never considered that she might become the center of attention.
As soon as she entered the classroom, her classmates, who had been chatting and laughing, all turned to look at her. Their eyes reflected a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
Luo Jing noticed their stares and paused, unsure of the reason. Chen Xin had taken her to get a new haircut recently. It made her look much more polished, and the shape of her face had become more defined.
The transformation was so stark that her classmates almost failed to recognize her. They only confirmed it was really Luo Jing when she sat down in her usual corner seat. It was difficult not to be shocked by such a sudden and complete change.
Before she could even settle in, Li Cheng rushed over and threw an arm around her shoulders, acting as if they were close friends. However, her hand kept touching Luo Jing’s new clothes, clearly more interested in them than in the person wearing them.
While other classmates might not have known the brand, Li Cheng recognized the outfit immediately. It was the newest spring-autumn collection from a luxury label. She had wanted to buy it herself but could not afford it. She had hinted at it to several of her boyfriends, but none of them were willing to buy it for her.
She could not understand how a country bumpkin like Luo Jing had landed such a wealthy patron. The thought filled her with jealousy. Even so, she kept her tone friendly and said with exaggerated enthusiasm, “Hey, let’s go out again tonight. There are still plenty of places I haven’t shown you.”
Luo Jing hesitated. “I don’t think I can…” The thought of another noisy and chaotic environment made her uncomfortable.
Li Cheng narrowed her eyes and smirked. “Come on, stop making excuses. You don’t have anything going on tonight. Or are you rushing back to serve your sugar mama?”
She had spoken quietly, only loud enough for the two of them to hear. However, Luo Jing grew nervous at the possibility of her saying more. Under Li Cheng’s persistent pressure, she reluctantly agreed.
Since that first time, Li Cheng had taken her out almost every week. It was not always to a nightclub. Sometimes it was just dinner or shopping. Yet each time, Li Cheng made Luo Jing pay. After the meal, she would say she forgot her wallet or claim she would pay her back. Luo Jing never saw her try to return any money. Whenever Luo Jing tried to refuse, Li Cheng would deliberately drop hints in front of others about her being kept. Luo Jing did not want anyone to find out, so she always gave in.
This weighed heavily on her. She did not know how to handle someone so clingy and shameless.
On the other side, Chen Xin was in a great mood after a restful weekend. She looked refreshed and vibrant. Her demeanor toward her subordinates was more pleasant than usual. Even the number of times she threw documents on the floor had decreased. She radiated a gentler presence, and there was a subtle glow on her face, as if her skin had improved.
Although her desk was stacked with paperwork, she showed no signs of impatience. In fact, her work was more efficient and polished than ever. When she handed a file to her secretary, she did so with a faint smile.
The secretary’s fingers trembled as she accepted the documents. Something was different. Why did Miss Chen seem so irresistible today? She felt a sudden and confusing desire to be dominated.
Unaware of the thoughts she had stirred in her secretary, Chen Xin checked the time and saw that it was almost noon. After finishing her lunch, she locked the office door and made a call to her sweetheart. She wanted to know what Luo Jing was doing.
Technically, it should have been the lover calling the sponsor. Yet, Chen Xin had been acting more eager than Luo Jing lately. If Luo Jie had been around, he would have teased her for behaving like a girl deeply in love.
Chen Xin could not help herself. She constantly wanted to know what Luo Jing was doing. She wondered if Luo Jing ever thought about her in return.
“Miss Chen?” Luo Jing answered. She was dressed in one of her new outfits, but the background looked dim. It appeared she was in a restroom.
It seemed Chen Xin had called just as Luo Jing was using the bathroom. The sight reminded her of the restroom during one of their dates. A wave of desire surged through her. She had an almost uncontrollable urge to rush to Luo Jing’s school and tease her.
Unfortunately, time would not allow it. Instead, she said, “I want to see your chest, Luo Jing.”
The words sounded wildly inappropriate, almost perverted. However, she knew Luo Jing would not reject her. No matter what she asked, Luo Jing always responded with shyness and compliance. That made Chen Xin fall deeper into her obsession. She continued to make all kinds of bold requests.
As expected, Luo Jing’s face flushed red. Still, she met the request. In the small restroom stall, she adjusted her top for the phone camera. Her pale chest came into view clearly through the screen. But she was shy and only allowed a few seconds before fixing her clothes.
Chen Xin was satisfied and did not ask for more. They had only spoken briefly when her secretary knocked and informed her that an important guest had arrived. Chen Xin had no choice but to hang up. She checked the call duration and saw it had only been ten minutes. Usually, their lunchtime conversations lasted at least thirty.
“Who is visiting at this hour? There is nothing scheduled right now,” she asked, clearly displeased. She was annoyed that someone had disturbed her rest.
The secretary hesitated, then replied, “Miss Chen, it is your mother.”
Chen Xin was momentarily stunned. She quickly instructed the staff to bring Xu Fangting in. Her face lit up with surprise and joy. “Mom, what brings you here?”
Xu Fangting often visited Chen Zheng but rarely came to Chen Xin’s office. Even when she did, she usually said a few words and left without sitting down.
Chen Xin expressed her regret. “If you had come a little earlier, we could have had lunch together.”
Xu Fangting gave her a look. “If you want to eat together, come home. Are we short on food at home?” With just a few words, she was already criticizing Chen Xin for not visiting.
Chen Xin smiled and personally brought her a cup of tea. “What brings you here today?”
“Of course I came for a reason,” Xu Fangting said. She sipped the tea elegantly before continuing. “Your father plans to bring Weiguo into the company.”
Chen Xin was visibly surprised. She had not heard this before. Still, she responded calmly, “Is Father making that decision on his own?”
Xu Fangting’s expression changed. She set the tea down and said sharply, “How can you say that so casually? Do you not have any sense of urgency? This is a major decision, and you are not even worried?”
Chen Xin remained composed. “If Father did not tell me, then he clearly did not intend to consult me. There is nothing more for me to say.” In fact, he likely feared she would try to interfere.
She pulled at the corners of her lips. Although surprised, she was not entirely unprepared. Based on Chen Zheng’s behavior, she had long known that bringing Chen Weiguo into the company was only a matter of time.
Xu Fangting’s face darkened. “If Chen An had never been born, would you have ever lost to him? Chen Weiguo was never even on your father’s radar. Now look. Once he enters the company, what will be left for you?”
“Mom, how did I lose to him? I joined the company years before he did.” Chen Xin tried to calm her mother. Her cousin joining the company did not mean she was about to be replaced.
Xu Fangting suddenly grew more serious. Her graceful face took on a sharp edge. “Losing is just a matter of time. I heard you even want to divorce Luo Jie.”
Chen Xin was at a loss for words. That brief silence confirmed everything for Xu Fangting. She exploded in anger. “Are you trying to drive me to an early grave?”
