The Cannon Fodder Stole the Male Lead’s Script GL - Chapter 57
Yan Kuo never expected that Jiang Yun would still have a video from that day. He also never imagined that the entire situation from before had been completely fabricated by those so-called friends.
“Damn it. They made me lose face.”
Yan Kuo walked along while cursing under his breath, carrying his schoolbag on one shoulder.
To make matters worse, his parents had decided on a whim not to send the driver today. He now had no choice but to walk home.
With a face full of hostility, he left the school grounds and headed toward a small alley. He planned to cross through it and reach the bus stop on the street opposite.
The alley outside the school was not short. It wound through several corners and passed through an area with few residents. Couples used to secretly meet there. However, after Zhan Rao and Jiang Yun were attacked in that alley, the place had remained deserted.
After all, the area was too isolated to feel safe.
Even so, Yan Kuo walked without fear. He firmly believed that, as the male lead, nothing could ever happen to him.
The moment he stepped into the alley and turned a corner, he suddenly saw someone. It was a person wearing a full Li-Ning men’s sports outfit, a mask, and a cap. It was impossible to see their build or face. Only their white sneakers were visible, and they were no larger than size thirty-seven.
He thought it must be a girl.
She held a steel pipe as thick as a wrist in one hand and a plastic bag in the other. She leaned against the wall, watching him silently.
Yan Kuo paused. A flicker of panic rose in his chest.
His previously fearless attitude began to waver. But then he remembered that the attack on Jiang Yun and Zhan Rao had followed a predetermined plot. It had to unfold that way.
Nothing in the script said that he, the male lead, would be attacked as well.
Besides, this was just a girl. It was not Jiang Yun, that terrifying one, who had already left by car. He told himself there was nothing to fear.
Yan Kuo straightened his back and gathered his courage. He took a step forward. However, when he was only three meters away, he suddenly shouted, “Screw you. I won’t fall for that.” Then he turned around and bolted.
The girl was momentarily stunned. Then she lifted the steel pipe and chased after him.
She ran extremely fast. Within a few strides, she caught up to Yan Kuo and swung the steel pipe at the back of his head. Yan Kuo managed to dodge, but the pipe still struck him hard on the back. He staggered and fell to the ground.
He turned around and glared furiously at her. “Who are you? Did Jiang Yun send you? Do you even know who I am? Do you understand the consequences of injuring me?”
But the person only let out a soft snort and struck his face with the steel pipe.
Yan Kuo was stunned by the blow. He quickly raised his arm to block the next attack.
The girl was merciless. As soon as he blocked, she adjusted her grip and started jabbing instead of swinging. Each thrust made Yan Kuo shriek in pain. Taking advantage of the moment when he opened his mouth to scream, she jammed the steel pipe directly into his mouth.
She stepped on him to pin him down. Her strength was surprisingly great and left him completely unable to move. Then she quickly poured the contents of the plastic bag into the pipe.
As soon as the yellow semi-liquid sludge went down his throat, Yan Kuo’s eyes widened in horror. He struggled violently.
But her foot held him in place. Her strength came from nowhere, but it was enough to make him completely helpless.
The girl watched him coldly. Only after the entire bag of yellow sludge was emptied down his throat did she remove the pipe. Then she pulled out her phone and recorded a short video of Yan Kuo.
After that, she picked up the pipe and left.
Before leaving, she spoke in a hoarse voice.
“If you spread rumors again, next time it will be worse than feeding you that.”
Yan Kuo was frozen in place.
Was that really feces?
He retched.
Jiang Yun sat in the car, leaning against the window. She remembered asking Zhan Rao to go home with her after school and how Zhan Rao had hurriedly refused. Her expression had been anxious, and she had a set of men’s clothing in her schoolbag. Something about it felt wrong.
She thought for a moment, then tapped on the driver’s seat.
“Don’t take me home yet. Turn back to the school.”
The driver was surprised but quickly turned the steering wheel and drove back.
By the time the car reached the school gates, almost everyone was gone. Those who had finished school had already left, and those who had evening classes had already gone inside.
“Miss, what are you here for…”
Before Uncle Ming could finish his question, he saw Jiang Yun waving at a girl standing on the roadside, holding a steel pipe.
Zhan Rao hesitated at first but still ran over.
She stood beside the car, about to throw away the steel pipe and the clothes she had just changed out of but Jiang Yun stopped her.
“Bring them into the car first.”
Zhan Rao looked a bit embarrassed. After all, the plastic bag had just held something foul.
“It smells bad.”
“Just get in.”
Jiang Yun opened the door. Zhan Rao had no choice but to climb in.
Jiang Yun told the driver to start the car, then made a phone call.
Zhan Rao sat beside her, clearly nervous. She clutched the steel pipe tightly, afraid something would drip onto Jiang Yun’s car. Her face turned red with guilt. All she could hear were bits of Jiang Yun’s phone conversation. One word stood out.
“Surveillance.”
“Alright. Please help delete all the footage from that area. Thank you.”
After hanging up, Jiang Yun looked at Zhan Rao and sighed.
“Let’s go. We’ll head to my place first.”
“Huh?”
“Do you really want to go home carrying a weapon and smelling like that? Won’t your parents worry?” Jiang Yun raised an eyebrow.
Zhan Rao fell silent. She fiddled with her clothes and mumbled, “You’re so sneaky. How do you know everything?”
She had not said anything about what she was doing, but Jiang Yun seemed to know already. Her deduction skills were terrifying.
They arrived at Jiang Yun’s home.
Zhan Rao was amazed by the house.
Strictly speaking, this was no longer just a small villa. It was a secluded lakeside estate.
Jiang Yun lived in a place called Jiangpan Yuwan. It occupied the most expensive land in Yinchuan City. The area was neither too big nor too small but contained only ten villas. Each villa was completely separate from the others. They were surrounded by gardens, small forests, and lakes.
Even the access roads did not intersect. Each villa had its own entrance, and each one was guarded by security staff.
In short, the privacy was so complete that even after ten years of living there, you might never see your neighbors.
Jiang Yun asked Uncle Ming to stop the car at their security checkpoint.
The guard saw the car and quickly approached with a respectful bow.
“Miss Jiang.”
“This is Miss Zhan. Please register her and update the access list.”
“Understood.”
Zhan Rao heard that her face would be scanned for access. She was about to get out of the car, but the guard brought the equipment to the window. After a brief scan, it was done.
“Face scan complete. Miss Zhan, please enter your name and information.”
“No need. Just put Zhan Rao.”
Jiang Yun frowned and interrupted.
The guard paused, looked at the driver, then nodded.
“Yes, Miss Jiang.”
The car passed the gate and drove slowly toward Jiang Yun’s home.
It was Zhan Rao’s first time here, and she was completely stunned by the luxury. There was a front garden with a pool, a bamboo grove and pavilion in the back, a mini golf course to the west, and even a stable.
The villa had four floors. Its design was elegant and refined. Unlike Xin Keke’s extravagant house, this one showed understated nobility.
“Welcome home, Miss.”
The moment they entered, two rows of household staff bowed respectfully.
“Miss Jiang, dinner is ready. Would you like anything else added to the meal?”
One staff member took Jiang Yun’s bag and coat while another stood beside Zhan Rao and reached out to help her.
Zhan Rao hesitated. Jiang Yun tilted her chin, signaling her to hand over her things. But she still felt shy. After all, it was that steel pipe.
“Take the items Miss Zhan is holding and the clothes she removed. Make sure they are properly disposed of without leaving any trace.”
“Understood.”
Jiang Yun turned to Zhan Rao.
“Are you hungry? What do you want for dinner?”
Zhan Rao quickly shook her head.
“Not hungry. Not at all.”
She was not just not hungry. She wanted to escape.
She had never expected Jiang Yun’s home to be like this. Everything here was so different from her own home.
It really did feel like they were worlds apart.
Jiang Yun glanced at her for a moment, then turned to a staff member.
“Prepare two bowls of spicy hot pot. One very spicy and one mildly spicy. Bring up some fruit as well. The rest of you may go. You do not need to attend us tonight. Rest early.”
“Yes, Miss.”
Jiang Yun pulled Zhan Rao upstairs by the hand.
“The second floor has the study and guest rooms. The third floor is my bedroom. The fourth has the theater, gym, and entertainment room. Where would you like to go first?”
Zhan Rao blushed. Her heart beat faster.
She did not want to go anywhere. Right now, she kind of wanted to go home.
“I…”
“Then let’s go to my room.”
Jiang Yun took her to the third floor.
There were only two rooms on the third floor. One was her bedroom. The other was her walk-in closet and makeup room.
Zhan Rao looked around and nearly cried. Just this one floor was almost as big as her entire house.
She had known Jiang Yun was rich although she had never imagined she was this rich.
Jiang Yun brought her into the bedroom. Once they were seated on the sofa and the door was closed, Zhan Rao relaxed a little. The scent of Jiang Yun filled the room.
Jiang Yun leaned against the vanity and looked at her with a smile.
“Is it really that shocking to visit my house for the first time?”
Zhan Rao made a face.
“Sister, the gap between our lives is too big. I’m really scared.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed Jiang Yun looking at her strangely and slowly walking over. Jiang Yun leaned down and pinned her against the back of the sofa.
“What did you just call me?”
Zhan Rao blinked.
Jiang Yun pinched her chin.
“Say it again.”
Zhan Rao finally realized what she had said.
“Uh… you must have misheard.”
“Good little sister. I heard you loud and clear.”
Zhan Rao remained speechless.
