Maybe it was because he was wearing colored contact lenses, his pair of dark green eyes swept over everyone in the living room as if he were assessing which reckless person was worth tearing apart and devouring like prey.

[That guy has been staring at my Yao Yao for two seconds. Is he planning to steal my girlfriend?]

[That guy’s smile at Yao Yao is so sleazy. Should I just kill him?]

[No, I like even numbers. I’ll kill one more person to make it even.]

[Tsk, I remember that guy. When Yao Yao was eating in the school cafeteria, he stared at her for a few extra seconds.]

[Why are there so many people in this world trying to break up me and Yao Yao?!]

[Ah!]

[So annoying!]

[Should I just kill them all?!]

Dongfang Xuan, already losing his grip on reality, suddenly felt a chill run through his body.

Lu Sheng was very quiet. No one knew how he did it, but the tail behind him swayed gently. Standing silently behind Bai Yao, he looked every bit like a real wolf. However, the moment Bai Yao turned her head to glance at him, he curved his eyes and smiled, instantly transforming into a love-struck puppy.

Seeing that Lu Sheng was adapting well, Bai Yao smiled radiantly at the people in the living room and warmly announced, “Welcome to my party, everyone!”

Welcome to the death party.

Dongfang Xuan automatically translated Bai Yao’s words into that horrifying phrase. He stumbled back several steps while everyone else cheered in this house filled with murderous intent. He was the only one who remained clear-headed.

He felt so helpless!

Under the dazzling interplay of multicolored lights and the blaring music, guests in ghost and monster costumes began to party enthusiastically.

The center of attention was undoubtedly Bai Yao. Many people flocked to her side, showering her with compliments, including quite a few male guests.

He Cai, relying on her years of flattery skills, pushed her way to the front of the crowd. She took Bai Yao’s hand and exaggeratedly said, “Yao Yao, your Bloody Mary costume today is absolutely stunning!”

Bai Yao gave her a sidelong glance. “I’m dressed as Little Red Riding Hood.”

He Cai didn’t miss a beat, her tone effortlessly shifting, “Of course! Who else could look even prettier than Little Red Riding Hood from the stories? It has to be our Yao Yao!”

Bai Yao beamed. “Cai Cai, you look beautiful today too!”

He Cai shot a casual glance toward Su Youyou standing nearby and said with sarcasm, “Not like ‘some’ people, who deliberately dress so plain and out of place just to draw attention.”

She truly embodied her role as Cinderella’s stepmother today. Her veiled jabs dripped with malice, making her a textbook example of a villainous supporting character.

Su Youyou pretended not to hear. She had plenty of ways to deal with these spiteful women. Knowing that He Cai had feelings for Dongfang Xuan, Su Youyou looked toward him, who was curled up in the corner, and began walking over.

He Cai’s expression changed. Forgetting all about flattering Bai Yao, she gathered her skirt and marched over, full of righteous indignation.

A boy gave a meaningful glance at the guy beside Bai Yao. “Bai Yao, so this is the boyfriend you found, huh?”

The implication was that he didn’t look like much.

Lu Sheng seemed like a naive and sweet boy who couldn’t pick up on the underlying hostility in others’ words. He just smiled politely and said, “Hello, I’m Lu Sheng, Yao Yao’s boyfriend.”

But just because Lu Sheng “couldn’t pick up on it” didn’t mean Bai Yao couldn’t.

She stepped in front of Lu Sheng, though her petite frame couldn’t actually block him, and cast a critical glance at the boy who had spoken, then smiled. “I said guests could bring their partners to today’s party. Didn’t you bring your girlfriend?”

The boy was secretly pleased. Was Bai Yao probing to see whether he had someone he liked?

He cleared his throat and replied, “I don’t have a girlfriend yet.”

Bai Yao let out an “Oh,” and said, “With someone like you, it’s no wonder you haven’t found one.”

Someone couldn’t help but laugh.

The boy’s face showed clear embarrassment. He didn’t dare to argue with Bai Yao directly here. Casting a resentful glance at the person behind her, he turned and walked away.

However, thanks to him stepping up and taking the hit, the others quickly picked up on Bai Yao’s clear intent to protect Lu Sheng. Everyone here was clever; afterward, when chatting with Bai Yao, they all made sure to throw in a few compliments for Lu Sheng as well.

Worried that Lu Sheng might get bored, Bai Yao picked up a plate of strawberry cake, pulled him into the stairwell, and placed the plate in his hands. She said, “You don’t have to follow me the whole time. I saw that the neighbors were all having fun. You can go play with them too.”

Unfortunately, there was only one strawberry on the cake.

Lu Sheng picked up the strawberry from the cake and brought it to Bai Yao’s lips. She bit into it, and then he gently lifted her chin, leaned in, and kissed her, his warmth prying her lips open.

Now they both tasted the strawberry.

Lu Sheng softly licked away the juice at the corner of Bai Yao’s mouth and murmured, “I only want to play with Yao Yao.”

Bai Yao couldn’t help but reach up and stroke the ears on his head.

Knowing she liked it, he narrowed his eyes in pleasure as he looked at her. The fluffy brown tail behind him swayed gently. He really did resemble a big puppy now.

It was said that the noodle restaurant owner had prepared these props for him. The craftsmanship was exquisite; the ears and tail looked utterly realistic.

Lu Sheng kissed away all of Bai Yao’s lipstick. He set the plate aside and pulled a lipstick out of his pocket, intending to touch up her makeup.

Since they started dating, sometimes after Bai Yao had carefully done her makeup and they were about to go out, Lu Sheng couldn’t help but kiss her, ruining all her effort.

So eventually, she wouldn’t let him kiss her anymore.

But Lu Sheng had a knack for being clever when it mattered. As long as he helped reapply her lipstick afterward, she wouldn’t stay mad at him.

But before he could open the lipstick, Bai Yao suddenly jumped up and wrapped herself around him, grabbed his face, and kissed him fiercely. Her legs in sheer stockings rubbed lightly against him. “I want an exciting kiss!”

Lu Sheng supported her with one hand under her butt, the other cradling the back of her head, continuously pulling her closer so they could grind against each other more deeply. He deliberately let her take the lead, giving her the chance to “conquer and occupy.”

Even when she bit him, it only earned a few low, pleased chuckles from him.

“Yao Yao, make it a little more exciting.”

He had known Bai Yao would like him dressed like this. But now it seemed it wasn’t just that she liked it—she was utterly addicted.

Maybe he should ask the noodle restaurant owner to prepare some other props next time.

In a hidden corner where no one could see, the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood indulged themselves wantonly, while outside, amid the red lights and flowing wine, the party remained lively and bustling as ever.

No one knew when the living room door had opened.

Su Youyou, having had “enough” of He Cai’s mean treatment, turned away, choking back sobs and ran out of the hall. Sure enough, she soon heard F3 scolding He Cai, followed by the sound of a few boys chasing after her.

Dongfang Xuan seemed to have suffered some kind of shock. He had been distracted and absent-minded all evening. Even when he saw her being “bullied” by He Cai, he didn’t react.

Su Youyou thought she should find an opportunity to pry some information out of Dongfang Xuan, to figure out what was going on. After all, she had gotten the most benefits out of him in the past. He was rich and gullible, and she wasn’t ready to let him go just yet.

Playing the little white lotus? That was her specialty.

“Meow~”

A sudden cat’s cry caught Su Youyou’s attention. She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a black cat sitting leisurely on the garden gate, licking its paw.

She glanced back at Bai Yao’s house, then at the house where the cat was—it was Bai Yao’s neighbor’s home.

The black cat let out another low, haunting meow.

Su Youyou, filled with affection, walked toward it just in time to find a reason to wait for those boys to catch up to her.

In the living room—

The moment Dongfang Xuan saw the door open, he immediately grabbed He Cai and urged her, “Let’s go, quickly.”

He Cai resisted. “What are you doing? I’m not going to apologize to her!”

In the past, whenever He Cai had conflicts with Su Youyou, Dongfang Xuan would always force her to apologize. He Cai was naive and outmatched by Su Youyou’s black lotus heart, so she could only swallow her grievances and pretend to be kind to Su Youyou to please Dongfang Xuan.

But recently, seeing Bai Yao wrapped in sweet love, she no longer wanted to wrong herself!

She just couldn’t stand Su Youyou!

Dongfang Xuan lowered his voice, “It’s dangerous here. Come with me.”

He Cai didn’t believe him at all. “You just want to trick me into going out there so you can make me apologize to Su Youyou!”

Dongfang Xuan didn’t even know when things had changed. The little girl who used to follow him around when they were kids no longer trusted him in the slightest. Anxious, he simply hoisted He Cai over his shoulder and started heading out.

He Cai was stunned for a second, then flew into a rage and struggled. “Dongfang Xuan! Are you out of your mind?!”

The onlookers inside commented, “Wow, these childhood sweethearts sure have a dramatic way of showing affection.”

A few “ding-dong” sounds rang out as new messages popped up in the “Friendly Neighborhood” group chat.

Xiao Xiong: 【 I’ve got guests at my place. It’s super fun. 】

The residents all let out a collective “Damn it!” Why couldn’t they have such luck?
