- Chapter 84 - Because I’m a Love-Brain, My Boyfriend Being a Pervert Doesn’t Matter XVI
The 11th General Meeting of Yuhua Community was successfully held in a dimly lit house.
Several figures stood in the spacious living room, attentively listening to the young man sitting on the sofa giving a closing speech.
Lu Sheng sat up straight with a serious face and said, “This is the situation. Yao Yao’s classmates are coming to visit her new home. I hope you all pay attention that day.”
A person dressed as a clown curiously asked, “Pay attention to what?”
“Do you mean we should pay attention to the heat?” The speaker was the owner of the noodle restaurant. His current appearance was rather peculiar—his body had been split in half by a chainsaw. This happened not long ago, and as for who did it, everyone knew in their hearts.
A humanoid misty figure spoke softly, “Using fire is too crude. I prefer things in their original flavor.”
The noodle restaurant owner, whose body was still split open, was struggling to pull out the chainsaw stuck in his middle. After a few failed attempts, he glanced sideways at the misty figure, frowning, “Wild boars can’t eat fine bran.”
The misty figure was the least articulate and the most timid among them. It didn’t know how to respond to the insult, so it retreated to a corner, covered its face, and began sobbing softly.
Of course, it didn’t actually have a face, but that hardly mattered.
An old woman knitting a wool sweater smiled, and because her smile was too exaggerated, her face cracked open with splits. Her pale eyes swept across the young people present, “Our community hasn’t welcomed new people in large numbers for a long time. What Xiao Lu means is, of course, that we should entertain them properly. Our reputation for hospitality has spread, and naturally, more people have come.”
Because of her age, apart from Lu Sheng, who was in charge, she was the only one allowed to sit while speaking.
The clown, with his painted face, exclaimed admiringly, “I see!”
Lu Sheng raised his hand and pressed his fingers to his brow, sighing, “When will you all be as normal as me?”
The others turned to look at him.
Lu Sheng continued, “What I want is for all of you to stay inside that night. My Yao Yao scares easily. If you stir up trouble, she will be scared and unable to sleep.”
The driver, who was playing a game with four hands, gave Lu Sheng an indescribable look upon hearing this.
Whether it is Lu Sheng or Bai Yao, did they both have some sort of bizarre filter when looking at each other?
When they heard that many people would be coming that night, but they weren’t allowed to come out and join the fun, everyone looked visibly disappointed, even though some didn’t even have eyes.
The misty figure in the corner cried louder.
Among all the people present, only one boy covered in prickly heat powder remained calm.
Xiao Xiong, while calmly applying more powder to himself, glanced out the glass window, opened his mouth, and let out an ear-piercing, cat-like scream.
The driver stuffed a blood-soaked candy into his mouth. “Go play somewhere else, kid.”
Xiao Xiong fell silent. He glanced out the window again, then calmly took out his phone from the pocket of his underwear.
With a few “ding-dong” sounds, everyone present took out their phones to check the group messages.
Xiao Xiong: 【 Picture.jpg 】
He had sent a photo of a girl crouched outside the glass window, her hands pressed against the glass, nearly plastered to it. Her bright, curious eyes were staring inside with an intense desire to learn more.
Because the light was behind her and the sun was blazing outside, her sweat-soaked hair clung to her cheeks, giving her an eerie and sinister appearance.
The clown was the first to scream, clutching his mouth, “Ghost! Scared me to death!”
No one dared turn around to look at the window.
Lu Sheng forced a stiff smile onto his face. “Xiao Xiong, did you Photoshop this photo?”
Xiao Xiong typed: 【 Nope~ I just took it. So cute. 】
His cute way of speaking is definitely suspicious!
Noodle Restaurant Owner: “W-what should we do? Should we turn around and look?”
Driver: “How would I know?!”
They all turned pleading eyes toward the elderly woman, who seemed to be the oldest among them, but she simply closed her eyes peacefully, as if she had already passed away.
At that moment, the most agile one was the misty figure. Realizing something was wrong, it immediately slipped out through the crack of the door.
Lu Sheng’s body was rigid; he didn’t dare turn around either. In that instant, his mind was racing. No excuse could explain the presence of this group. His brain was on the verge of crashing!
Bai Yao stared at the unmoving figures inside the house, tilting her head in confusion. Why did it seem like they saw her, but didn’t come to open the door?
It is so hot outside!
But it didn’t matter that no one opened the door for her. Ever since her relationship with Lu Sheng had taken a qualitative leap, she had been given a key to his house.
When Lu Sheng gave her the key, he had lowered his head bashfully and said, “Yao Yao, if you’re scared to sleep alone at night, you can come to my place.”
Now, Bai Yao wiped the sweat off her face, and sensing something was off, pulled out the key and walked to the front door.
Upon hearing the sound of the key turning, panic spread inside the house.
The driver retracted two of his hands. His team in the game lost the match, and a teammate cursed over voice chat, “What the hell? Support didn’t even heal during the fight? Are you nuts?!”
The old woman pulled a pair of sunglasses out of her pocket and put them on.
The noodle restaurant owner frantically sought help from the clown, who kicked him hard and finally yanked out the chainsaw stuck in his body.
Of everyone present, the calmest was Xiao Xiong. His eyes, unnaturally dark, watched the unfolding chaos as he crunched on the candy in his mouth with a crisp snap.
The moment the door opened, Lu Sheng squeezed into the doorway, one hand on the frame to block Bai Yao from entering. His brows arched, and his smile was bright and dazzling. “Yao Yao, didn’t you say you were going to stay home and write your essay? Why did you come over?”
Bai Yao smiled too. “The essay was too hard. I couldn’t write anymore, so I thought I’d come see you.”
Lu Sheng: “What part’s hard? I can help you—Yao Yao!”
Bai Yao had already ducked under Lu Sheng’s arm and entered the living room. She stood there, her sharp gaze sweeping over everyone inside.
There were unfamiliar faces, familiar faces, and faces that couldn’t be clearly seen.
They were all in various strange costumes, looking straight at Bai Yao.
Lu Sheng quickly followed, flustered and panicked. “Yao Yao, actually… actually, they’re all residents here. D-don’t be scared, I… um…”
Bai Yao confirmed there were no young women here, so Lu Sheng probably wasn’t hiding a mistress. A wide, beaming smile appeared on her face. “Are you guys planning a costume party?!”
Lu Sheng: “?”
The ghosts and monsters exchanged glances, then, as if on cue, smiled warmly and kindly at Bai Yao, nodding in an innocent, friendly way to show they completely agreed with her.
The old woman, wearing her sunglasses, said kindly, “We heard from Xiao Lu that Miss Bai wanted to host a party. He’s never attended one before and didn’t want to embarrass you, so he came to us for advice.”
The noodle restaurant owner and the clown stood side by side, hiding the chainsaw behind them. They nodded together. “Yes, yes, that’s right!”
