He Cai: “He is not my boyfriend!”

Dongfang Xuan had a grudge against Chen Shuo. Frowning, he tried to pull He Cai away, but she shook off his hand and quickly opened the car door, jumping into the front passenger seat.

“He Cai!” Dongfang Xuan chased after her, trying to pull her out of the car.

But before his hand could reach He Cai, his wrist was already caught by someone.

Chen Shuo leaned forward and, with one hand, twisted Dongfang Xuan’s arm into a lock. He moved with skill, rendering Dongfang Xuan’s hand completely powerless.

Chen Shuo smiled politely and said, “A gentleman would never force a lady to do something against her will.”

Chen Shuo was very close. He Cai’s back was pressed tightly against the seat, but the scent of tobacco from the man still lingered at the tip of her nose.

She nervously clutched her seatbelt. “Officer Chen, you’ve been smoking again?”

Chen Shuo replied with a low “Mm.”

That deep voice echoed in her ears, and He Cai suddenly felt a little flustered.

[Oh my god, why do I suddenly find this man kind of handsome? Wait, no, am I not someone who only likes good-looking guys? Someone as rugged as him is totally not my type!]

Dongfang Xuan suddenly heard He Cai’s inner thoughts. Anxiously, he shouted, “He Cai, get out of the car right now!”

Chen Shuo flung Dongfang Xuan’s hand aside, and with a loud bang, the car door slammed shut. The vehicle sped off, leaving an enraged Dongfang Xuan behind in the dust.

Inside the car, things went quiet for a while, and the atmosphere was somewhat awkward.

Chen Shuo, being older, casually said, “There are so few streetlights on this road. It’s so dark and uncomfortable.”

He Cai glanced out the window and blinked. She thought to herself, Is this grown man afraid of the dark? The young lady generously said, “Next time, I’ll donate some of my pocket money to install more streetlights along this road so that both sides will be completely lit!”

Chen Shuo gently rubbed the steering wheel with his fingertips. He had the urge to smoke again, but held back. Instead, he asked, “Do you dislike the smell of cigarettes?”

He Cai: “Well, I don’t like it anyway.”

He said, “Then I won’t smoke anymore.”

He Cai looked up: “Huh?”

Chen Shuo let out a soft laugh but didn’t respond.

Meanwhile, in Yuhua Community, the lights in a white house glowed brightly and warmly.

Bai Yao had just taken a shower and changed into her nightgown when she saw Lu Sheng sneakily doing something with her purse.

She tiptoed quietly behind him and suddenly called out.

Lu Sheng was startled. Holding something in his hands, he turned around with a terrified look. “Yao Yao, you’re going to scare me to death!”

“Guilty as a thief,” Bai Yao snatched the item from his hands. “What are you doing?”

Lu Sheng glanced at her, a little guilty. “I just wanted to use some flowers to make your bag smell nice.”

Bai Yao took out a red flower from her bag. She had long noticed that whenever she went to school, there would be a new flower in her bag. At first, she thought it was a little surprise from Lu Sheng, but now, she didn’t think so anymore.

She squinted at him. “Does this flower have any other purpose? Tell me the truth.”

Lu Sheng’s eyes darted nervously. “I… I was afraid you’d end up somewhere I couldn’t find you. As long as the flower is there, I can find you.”

She pressed him, “Is it really just for tracking?”

Lu Sheng lowered his eyes and mumbled, “Sometimes, it can also act as my eyes and ears.”

Bai Yao wasn’t angry. Instead, she asked curiously, “Is it a part of you?”

Lu Sheng, timid as always, softly replied, “You could say that.”

Bai Yao’s eyes widened. “Then can you… blossom too?”

Lu Sheng got excited. “Do you want to see?”

Bai Yao nodded eagerly. “Yes!”

Lu Sheng’s body began to change. Cracks appeared on his skin, and from the gaps, green branches emerged. Gradually, he transformed into the likeness of a lush tree. Green vines extended throughout the entire room, climbing up the walls and ceiling.

Bai Yao was surrounded by it all, her eyes filled with vibrant greenery.

Then, flower buds began to bloom one after another along the vines. The brilliant colors complemented the green, full of dazzling and exuberant vitality.

A vine hanging from the ceiling lowered, and a flower slowly bloomed right in front of her.

Bai Yao stared at the color of the flower. At first, she was just curious, but when she thought of everything he had gone through in the past, her eyes welled up with tears. Carefully, she reached out and cupped the flower on the branch, sniffling.

The moment she touched the flower, all the flowers in the room trembled simultaneously, as if intensely stimulated. Every flower burst into full bloom, releasing pollen that filled the entire room with a faint, delicate fragrance.

A vine quietly wrapped around her leg and slipped into her skirt.

Bai Yao suddenly realized something: flowers seemed to be the reproductive organs of plants.

Then what did it mean now that the flowers had spread through the room, surrounded her, and even filled her breathing space with pollen?

Bai Yao yanked the vine out from under her skirt and screamed, “Lu Sheng!!! You pervert!!!”

In response, flowering vines from all directions closed in like a cage, tightly enclosing her.

On the rooftop of the building across the street—

Xiao Xiong was holding a small black cat, watching the shadows of the wildly dancing vines cast on the far-off glass window. He said to the cat, “Meow meow.”

They sure play with flowers in… creative ways.

The cat responded, “Meow~”

Good children shouldn’t learn from this.
