Thanks to My Enemy, I Become Immortal Emperor - Chapter 93
“Heaven Wrath Temple?” Lin Wudao seemed puzzled.
“What is that place?”
The shadow guard shook his head. “I’m not sure. The individuals associated with it are quite mysterious, and I haven’t been able to uncover much information.”
Pausing briefly when mentioning the Heaven Wrath Temple, the shadow guard sounded uncertain.
“However, based on my observations, there seem to be two primary activities they engage in.”
“Firstly, they kill people, but their targets are hard to predict. I’ve witnessed members of the Heaven Wrath Temple hunting down prodigies as well as killing wastrels from certain clans.”
“Secondly, they appear to be searching for something!”
Lin Wudao furrowed his brow, deep in thought for a moment.
Then he asked, “What unique characteristics do these murdered individuals share?”
The shadow guard pondered for a bit.
“They tend to be extreme – either complete wastrels or exceptionally gifted prodigies.”
Lin Wudao paced back and forth, his mind racing swiftly.
Suddenly, he turned to the shadow guard and asked, “In your opinion, what makes me unique?”
The shadow guard studied Lin Wudao carefully, thinking deeply before finally responding, “Quite cunning!”
Enraged, Lin Wudao slapped him across the face.
“Think again and choose your words better!”
The shadow guard fell deep into thought once more.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
“Sir, besides being quite cunning and highly intelligent, you’re also rather mediocre!”
Lin Wudao’s breath hitched, his chest heaving rapidly.
With a swift motion, he accessed his space ring and produced a blade.
Holding the sword, Lin Wudao gazed at the shadow guard with visible distress.
The shadow guard hastily grabbed Lin Wudao’s hand.
“Sir, I was just joking, don’t take it seriously!”
“In truth, what I said earlier is because you deliberately hide your true abilities. In reality, sir, you possess exceptional talent and a Samsara Physique, ensuring limitless potential for future achievements.”
Reluctantly, Lin Wudao sheathed his blade.
“If that’s the case, then these people from the Heaven Wrath Temple must suspect me to be a hidden Heaven’s Chosen. But the question is, how did they come to know this?”
The shadow guard scratched his head.
“I believe in the cultivation world, genuine mediocrities rarely survive long. Yet, you have endured, which can only mean you’ve masterfully concealed your true nature!”
Lin Wudao looked at the shadow guard, surprised. After a moment of silence, he nodded, “Your reasoning makes sense!”
The shadow guard smiled.
“Actually, there might be another possibility – good men often die young, while scoundrels live on for ages!”
Instantly, Lin Wudao drew his longsword again.
“Sir, I’m sorry! It was a slip of the tongue!” The shadow guard turned and fled.
The death of Ninth Fury sent shockwaves throughout the Heaven Wrath Temple.
In Qin Province, a middle-aged man stood with a frosty expression on his face.
“How did he die?” the middle-aged man asked one of his subordinates.
The subordinate trembled fearfully, their voice shaking slightly as they responded, “Ninth Fury went to pursue and eliminate someone named Kometaro, but was instead killed by this Kometaro!”
The middle-aged man fell silent for what felt like an eternity.
Finally, he spoke again, “So, the destruction of the Heaven Wrath Temple’s second outpost in Qin Province was also done by this Kometaro?”
The kneeling figure in the grand hall nodded affirmatively.
Eighth Fury took a deep breath. “Have we gathered any information about this individual yet?”
His subordinate bowed lower, trembling even more intensely.
“Waste!” the middle-aged man roared furiously.
Instantly, the subordinate’s body exploded violently.
“And, can anyone explain why our plan to hunt down individuals in Qin Province has stalled completely?”
Another report followed promptly.
“Sir Eighth, the reason for the stall is due to the emergence of the Yama Palace. Most of the targets we aimed to eliminate have joined the Yama Palace.”
“Additionally, some were forcibly recruited into the Yama Palace!”
The middle-aged man was taken aback.
“Yama Palace? What is that?”
His subordinate reported further.
“It seems to be a newly established organization.”
The middle-aged man retrieved a scroll, briefly scanning its contents. There was no mention of the Yama Palace, prompting him to scoff coldly.
“There’s no record of such a force in history; it’s likely just a fleeting phenomenon.”
Suddenly, the middle-aged man began to laugh.
“Since our targets have joined this so-called Yama Palace, let’s wait until they’re all gathered together and strike them down simultaneously.”
His subordinate appeared concerned.
“But sir, the Yama Palace has been rapidly gaining influence lately. I fear…”
The middle-aged man sneered dismissively.
“They’re merely a new ant-like faction. Even if given two hundred years to develop, the Heaven Wrath Temple would still hold nothing but contempt for them!”
After pondering, the subordinate agreed with his assessment and said no more.
“All right, keep a close eye on our targets.”
“Yes, sir!”
Time swiftly passed.
Half a month later, Liu Shunyi searched through the remains of a female cultivator, somewhat speechless.
“Damn, you’re a Nascent Soul Cultivator, yet how impoverished can you be?” He sighed helplessly.
What frustrated Liu Shunyi the most was his own Golden Core predicament.
He had long reached the Great Perfection stage of Golden Core cultivation. However, despite continued practice, there were no signs of advancing to the Nascent Soul realm. Instead, surrounding his large Golden Core, he found nine smaller ones orbiting it.
This configuration made him even more powerful, confident enough to effortlessly take on any Nascent Soul Cultivator.
The problem lay in that, having reached this point, Liu Shunyi could not progress further without knowing how to break through to the Nascent Soul stage.
“Forget it, I’ll find some time to ask Lin Wu Dao.”
As if on cue, just as Liu Shunyi thought about Lin Wu Dao, the latter contacted him again via jade token.
“Ah, seems like you and Cao Aman have something in common,” chuckled Liu Shunyi.
Infusing magical energy into the jade token, Lin Wudao’s projection appeared before him.
Lin Wudao looked taken aback. “Who is Cao Aman?”
Liu Shunyi shook his head. “You wouldn’t know him.”
Lin Wudao nodded, then asked with an intrigued expression, “Did you need something from me?”
“Um, Brother Liu, our brotherhood has grown quite large recently, and we still require resources.”
Liu Shunyi remained unperturbed.
“Let’s start with half a year’s worth. How many Medicine Pills do you estimate you’ll need for this period?”
Lin Wudao paused momentarily before cautiously asking, “Do you truly want me to calculate for half a year’s supply of Medicine Pills?”
Liu Shunyi nodded affirmatively.
“Just for half a year. I’ll produce more blood pills, so once the ancient secret realm opens, you won’t have to worry about running out of Medicine Pills.”
Lin Wudao agreed.
“Alright, let me figure it out. Assuming one person needs ten blood pills and ten Divine Soul Pills per month, that would be one million blood pills and one million Divine Soul Pills monthly. For half a year, it amounts to over ten million blood pills and ten million Divine Soul Pills each. And this doesn’t account for any additional members joining during that time!”
Stunned, Liu Shunyi looked at Lin Wudao.
“H-how… how much exactly?”
Lin Wudao sighed.
“That’s just a conservative estimate.”
Liu Shunyi swallowed hard.
“You mean the force you’ve built for me now consists of around a hundred thousand individuals?”
Feeling somewhat numb, Lin Wudao replied, “A rough estimation puts it around that number!”
Liu Shunyi was completely astounded.
He desperately wanted to ask, How the hell did you manage such an extraordinary feat?
