Liu Shunyi eventually left.

Upon arrival, he was filled with murderous intent; upon departure, his face bore sheer bewilderment.

The shadow guard’s perception of their master underwent a significant shift, questioning his previously unshakable image.

Lin Wudao observed the shadow guard and chuckled softly.

“Surprised, aren’t you? Wondering why someone as proud as me would suddenly back down?”

The shadow guard shook his head.

“You must have your reasons, sir!”

At that moment, Lin Wudao sat on the ground, arms crossed over his chest.

“Have you ever considered something?”

The shadow guard looked puzzled.

“What is it, sir?”

Lin Wudao sighed.

“As long as anyone harbors killing intent towards him, they risk suffering any harm intended for him. To some extent, unless he becomes excessively reckless, he cannot be killed.”

Still not fully comprehending, the shadow guard responded, “If what you say is true, even if he acts extremely audaciously, it wouldn’t matter. Anyone attempting to harm him risks having their life controlled by him.”

Lin Wudao stared at him as if looking at a fool.

“Do you truly believe everyone in the cultivation world is stupid? Or do you think those ancient beings who have lived for thousands of years haven’t encountered more formidable talents before?

“Remember this: no matter how outrageously gifted one may be, invincibility remains elusive.”

“While his talent can indeed seem unbeatable in certain terms, there are ways to counteract it.”

Lin Wudao provided an example.

“If I were still at the Incarnation or Body Fusion Realm, do you think the death of one Golden Core would significantly harm me?”

The shadow guard shook his head.

“I’m not sure!”

Lin Wudao continued explaining.

“It would merely feel like a light punch to me. Even if he had others absorbing his damage, I could still wear him down and ultimately defeat him. To put it another way, striking him is akin to harming myself.”

“However, his talent has its limits, and worst-case scenario, we might both perish together. But with my Reincarnation Talent, I can simply revive afterward!”

Still puzzled, the shadow guard asked, “If you have ways to kill him, then why…”

Lin Wudao waved his hand dismissively.

“My explanation assumes he’s foolish. However, he isn’t. The heights this individual could reach are immeasurable. Since defeating him seems unlikely, joining forces early on makes more sense.”

The shadow guard nodded but felt somewhat uneasy and cautiously questioned, “If we were disloyal, could the living Yama control our lives as well?”

Lin Wudao froze momentarily, locking eyes with the shadow guard in silence.

After what seemed like an eternity, Lin Wudao broke the silence.

“Well then, let’s remain loyal for now!”

The shadow guard agreed with a nod.

Liu Shunyi found another hiding spot to conceal himself once more.

For now, he didn’t dwell much on Lin Wudao’s situation. The primary reason for accepting him was his exceptional intelligence-gathering abilities. Additionally, Liu Shunyi valued Lin Wudao’s absolute loyalty. Even Lin Wudao likely understood that regardless of any potential threats, his life remained firmly under Liu Shunyi’s control.

Thus, Liu Shunyi felt even more secure with Lin Wudao by his side.

However, before leaving immediately, Liu Shunyi secretly observed Lin Wudao from afar. As for Lin Wudao’s subsequent conjectures and theories, Liu Shunyi took a deep breath, realizing they were remarkably accurate. Moreover, Lin Wudao’s assessment of Liu Shunyi’s capabilities was precise.

Lin Wudao was right; it wasn’t that Liu Shunyi couldn’t die, but rather, it was exceedingly difficult for him to perish.

With this thought, Liu Shunyi became increasingly determined to enhance his strength further.

He sat cross-legged, lost in contemplation.

“For now, let’s keep the Heavenly God Cult intact. It may prove immensely useful once we enter the secret realm!”

Next, Liu Shunyi reviewed the names of others on his list.

“However, since Tianji Holy Land is entangled with the Heavenly God Cult, causing some unexpected ‘accidents’ within their ranks might be beneficial. Ah, and I possess the Blood Demon Scripture – isn’t that one of the Heavenly God Cult’s techniques?”

At this realization, Liu Shunyi couldn’t help but smile.

He quickly turned to Tang Xiaoren’s page.

Then, activating the Blood Demon Scripture, he began converting Tang Xiaoren’s flesh, divine soul, and longevity into spiritual power for himself.

At the Heavenly God Cult’s headquarters:

Tang Xiaoren had just finished repairing his hardware and couldn’t resist playing poker with Abe Luoxue.

However, gradually, Tang Xiaoren sensed something amiss.

“My essence, divine soul, and longevity – they’re all draining away!”

“Fuck! You treacherous bitch!” Tang Xiaoren exclaimed, realizing it was the Blood Demon Scripture at work.

How dare this deceitful woman use the Blood Demon Scripture against him?

Enraged, Tang Xiaoren slapped Abe Luoxue, sending her flying across the room.

“Ahh!~” Abe Luoxue was stunned by the sudden assault.

“Sire, what have I done?”

Moments later, she noticed with horror that Tang Xiaoren’s hair was turning white, his body rapidly aging, and even his magical energy was dissipating.

“You wench, what have you done to me? Stop it immediately!”

Abe Luoxue panicked as well.

“No, Sire, I haven’t done anything.”

Tang Xiaoren seethed with anger.

“Do you think I’m a fool? This is clearly the Blood Demon Scripture!”

Abe Luoxue was taken aback but then suddenly remembered something crucial.

“B-But only Shi Changxin can activate the Blood Demon Scripture like this!”

Tang Xiaoren collapsed onto the ground, weakened.

“I don’t care who’s using the Blood Demon Scripture, but stop it immediately.”

Abe Luoxue was on the verge of tears.

“Sir, we don’t even know where Shi Changxin is right now. Perhaps you could bear with it a little longer while I send someone to search for him?”

Just as she finished speaking, Tang Xiaoren’s abnormal condition abruptly ceased.

Tang Xiaoren hastily produced a bottle of Medicine Pills and swallowed them down.

In no time at all, he regained his composure.

With renewed strength, Tang Xiaoren swiftly extended his hand, summoning True Essence to grasp Abe Luoxue tightly.

“Where is that person named Shi Changxin?”

Abe Luoxue, visibly pained, struggled to respond.

“He arrived here quite early, sir. I’ll immediately dispatch people to find him.”

Tang Xiaoren’s eyes turned chillingly cold.

“I want him alive. He dared to attack this Seat, and I shall make him understand that living can be its own form of torment.”

However, just as he spoke those words, the excruciating pain returned once more.

Tang Xiaoren’s appearance rapidly aged again, and his aura became unstable.

“Go, immediately! Find him for me. If you fail, this Seat won’t hesitate to annihilate your entire Heavenly God Cult!”

This time, Abe Luoxue was utterly shocked.

“Just a moment, sir, I’ll start the search right away.”

Abe Luoxue hastily departed.

However, after Abe Luoxue left, Zhao Gou’s figure reappeared once more.

Tang Xiaoren glared at Zhao Gou, his expression darkening.

“You still dare to come back?”

Zhao Gou smiled faintly.

“You might not remember me, but I have a very deep impression of you.”

Tang Xiaoren quickly resumed meditation, striving to stabilize his condition.

Meanwhile, Zhao Gou spoke up:

“Three hundred years ago, you made a grave mistake by falsely accusing my Zhao family, leading to our clan’s extermination. Initially, I had given up on seeking revenge, knowing that alone, I couldn’t possibly achieve it.

“But fate took an unexpected turn, and against all odds, I’ve grown stronger than ever imagined.”
