“You’re Liu Shunyi?”

The Steward examined Liu Shunyi from head to toe, frowning as he asked.

Taken aback, Liu Shunyi hastily bowed in response.

“Yes, that’s me!”

The Steward was momentarily speechless.

“I’m not sure what kind of dumb luck you’ve stumbled upon, but I have a specific task assigned for you.”

As he spoke, the Steward handed the task details to Liu Shunyi.

Liu Shunyi felt bewildered.

Wait, hold on.

I’m just a servant, and I haven’t really made many connections.

Why would there be a specific task assigned to me?

With curiosity, Liu Shunyi glanced at the task content.

Upon reading it, his expression became quite astonished.

‘Deliver sword to Hidden Sword Peak, Ji Suying – Compensation negotiable!’

“Many thanks, Steward!” Liu Shunyi exclaimed gratefully.

He promptly took out all the Spirit Stones he had with him and gave them to the Steward.

The Steward’s face lit up with a smile.

“Well, well, you know how to play your cards right, young man!”

Liu Shunyi chuckled sheepishly.

“I’ll definitely need your continued support in the future, Steward!”

The Steward grinned back.

“My pleasure!”

Liu Shunyi immediately bid farewell.

The Steward nodded in acknowledgment.

***

Stepping outside, Liu Shunyi sighed.

Truthfully, he had no desire to have any connection with that Cold White, Ji Suying.

He preferred not to meet her often or engage socially at all.

Their status and positions were simply too disparate.

One should associate with peers matching their own strength.

As a lowly servant with minimal power,

having ties with an Inner Sect Senior Sister

was far from ideal.

It was evident that Ji Suying, the Cold White, had numerous suitors,

possibly even within the Inner Sect.

If any of them were possessive,

a mere extra word exchanged between Senior Sister Ji and himself

could lead to significant trouble.

While Liu Shunyi currently didn’t fear making enemies,

and it might even be beneficial for him,

his actual strength was still insufficient.

Despite having an advantage through his cheat,

if a Golden Core Cultivator targeted him,

they could effortlessly kill him dozens of times in an instant.

Moreover, he had a three-second vulnerability period.

“Ah, this won’t do. The servant disciple’s Qi Refining Basic Cultivation Technique is truly subpar. I must urgently find a better technique.”

With this thought, Liu Shunyi promptly headed to the Artificer Room for his sword.

Although the Steward was absent today, the longsword had already been placed inside a sword case.

Liu Shunyi didn’t inquire further and simply left with the sword on his back.

Before long, he arrived at Hidden Sword Peak.

Equipped with his mission token and servant disciple status, there were no obstacles as he made his way directly to the peak.

Throughout the journey, Liu Shunyi kept his head down, neither looking around nor asking unnecessary questions.

After what seemed like an indeterminate time, he finally reached Ji Suying’s residence.

Liu Shunyi did not pay attention to where exactly Ji Suying lived, intentionally avoiding scrutiny.

“Please wait here, I’ll announce your arrival!” said the disciple guiding him.

Liu Shunyi bowed courteously. “Thank you, Senior Brother!”

The disciple nodded in acknowledgment.

Moments later, Liu Shunyi heard the door opening, revealing a pair of intricately embroidered women’s shoes before his eyes.

Without hesitation, Liu Shunyi raised the sword case above his head with both hands.

“Senior Sister, the sword has been delivered!”

Ji Suying slightly furrowed her brow, visibly discontent with Liu Shunyi’s deferential stance, head bowed like a mere servant.

Shouldn’t Cultivators conduct themselves differently?

However, she quickly shook it off. People have their own aspirations, and there was little she could say about it. With a gentle wave of her hand, the sword case levitated and opened automatically.

A blood-red longsword emerged, emitting waves of intense heat.

Ji Suying appeared quite satisfied.

She then turned to Liu Shunyi.

“For delivering this sword, what reward would you desire?”

Without hesitation, Liu Shunyi blurted out:

“Merit points!”

The room fell silent instantly.

The disciple who escorted Liu Shunyi gave him a peculiar look, thinking: *Is this servant foolhardy? Don’t you understand the significance of a designated task? It signifies belief in your potential, offering you a unique opportunity. And yet, you choose merit points?*

Ji Suying also felt deeply disappointed.

To her, Liu Shunyi seemed overly short-sighted. Such narrow vision made him unworthy of further cultivation. If his destiny aligns thus…

It seemed there was no need to invest further attention in him.

“Fine, if he wants merit points, just give them to him!” Ji Suying instructed the disciple beside her.

The disciple nodded.

Ji Suying, feeling disinterested, turned away and resumed her cultivation inside her room.

Meanwhile, the remaining disciple scratched his head.

“Junior Brother, I only have one hundred thousand merit points at the moment. Take this for now, and when you’ve used it up, come back to me!”

“Of course, here’s also a thousand Spirit Stones as compensation for your trouble!”

With that, the disciple handed Liu Shunyi a Storage Bag and a merit points card.

Liu Shunyi wanted to decline politely, thinking, *But damn, this is way too much!*

Yet, unable to muster any words of refusal, he gratefully accepted the rewards.

“Many thanks, Senior Brother! Thank you, Senior Sister!”

The disciple smiled warmly.

“It’s no problem, but…never mind. Since the task is completed, you should return now!”

He waved dismissively.

As Ji Suying had given up on Liu Shunyi, the disciple saw no reason to engage further.

Liu Shunyi understood this clearly, though he didn’t care at all.

Contrary to appearances, Liu Shunyi actually desired this outcome.

“Very well, I shall take my leave now!” With that, Liu Shunyi hastily departed, almost sprinting away like the wind.

The other disciple was left dumbfounded. *Wait, is this place really that terrifying?*

Meanwhile, from Ji Suying’s second-floor room, a loli who had been observing everything burst out laughing.

Ji Suying’s expression turned slightly furious. “He knows exactly what accepting a designated task implies; he did it on purpose!”

She was deeply enraged.

*What does this mean? As the esteemed Eldest Senior Sister of Hidden Sword Peak, am I so unworthy of your attention, servant disciple? Are you avoiding me as if I were venomous or monstrous?*

The loli couldn’t help but laugh heartily. “Tsk tsk, I’ve seen plenty trying to court you, showing off and doing all sorts of things to catch your eye. But this servant, he genuinely wants nothing to do with you!”

As the little loli continued speaking, Ji Suying grew increasingly angry.

Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath.

“Whoosh!”

Her figure instantly vanished.

“Hey, wait! Don’t go without me!” The little loli also disappeared swiftly.

***

Liu Shunyi was extremely excited.

Damn, I’m rich now! Truly rich!

I’ve become insanely wealthy.

With merit points at his disposal, Liu Shunyi wasted no time and hurried straight to the Scripture Pavilion.

After paying three thousand merit points,

he promptly entered the first floor of the library.

Next, Liu Shunyi swiftly began selecting Cultivation Techniques.

His choice was straightforward:

Any technique that allowed rapid cultivation speed, despite significant risks, would suit him best.

After careful selection,

Liu Shunyi picked out one Cultivation Technique, one Sword Technique, and one Movement Technique.

The Cultivation Technique was called Frenzy Thunder Scripture.

Not only did it absorb spiritual energy quickly, but it also imbued True Qi with the power of thunder.

However, the price was immense.

Due to its rapid cultivation pace, there was a high risk of being torn apart by lightning. One misstep could leave the body riddled with wounds.

Despite these dangers, this technique not only accelerated cultivation but simultaneously strengthened the practitioner’s body.

If not for its major drawbacks, it likely wouldn’t have been placed on the first floor of the Scripture Pavilion.

The Sword Technique was named Thunder Rush Sword.

With a single strike, it unleashed a burst like blossoming thunder.

It possessed tremendous power but carried great peril during cultivation, requiring exposure to lightning strikes to temper the wielder’s sword.

A failed attempt could easily prove fatal.

The Movement Technique was called Explosive Step, as implied by its name: Spiritual power explosively channeled into the legs, achieving incredible speed.

But mishandling it could result in leg paralysis!
