Recently, Zhao Gou of the Qinglian Sect had become incredibly renowned.

Even those who once harbored doubts about him have now completely dispelled their suspicions.

This change occurred after the Heavenly God Cult set up a counterfeit Qinglian Sect outpost.

In fury, ‘Zhao Gou’ swiftly dismantled numerous Heavenly God Cult strongholds, employing ruthless tactics. Wherever he struck, not a single member of the Heavenly God Cult survived.

These actions further solidified Zhao Gou’s reputation as the foremost individual among Golden Core cultivators.

The Heavenly God Cult outposts were guarded by multiple Golden Core Cultivators, with some having at least three such powerful figures. Yet, without so much as a glance, ‘Zhao Gou’ effortlessly dispatched them all using Salvation to Myriad Beings, achieving instant annihilation.

Some even proclaimed:

“Under Salvation to Myriad Beings, all stand equal!”

Such remarks catapulted Zhao Gou’s prestige to unprecedented heights.

Inside the palace at Qinglian Sect’s encampment, Great Elder Wang Yangzhi approached Zhao Gou with a pleasant demeanor.

“Fellow Daoist, while I understand you acted for the sake of our Qinglian Sect, your methods were indeed quite ruthless!”

Zhao Gou looked puzzled.

After a moment of thought, he asked uncertainly, “Have I recently done something truly extraordinary?”

Wang Yangzhi was momentarily speechless.

Don’t you know what you’ve done? Wait, is this some ploy for me to praise you? Alright then!

With that thought, Wang Yangzhi bowed respectfully.

“Elder Zhao Gou, indeed formidable! Within just three days, you eradicated seven strongholds of the Heavenly God Cult. Truly divine!”

Zhao Gou appeared somewhat numb. “Oh, am I really that impressive?”

Wang Yangzhi felt taken aback, sensing something wasn’t right.

No, why does it seem like you’re acting as if this has nothing to do with you? Are you putting on too much of a show?

A hint of doubt flickered through Wang Yangzhi’s mind, but he quickly shook it off.

“By the way, Elder Zhao Gou, the Yamata Clan from the Heavenly God Cult has challenged you to a life-or-death battle. Take a look!”

Zhao Gou remained expressionless.

“Oh, where and when will it be held?” he asked mildly.

Wang Yangzhi paused, slightly surprised. Earlier, Elder Zhao Gou had seemed so cautious; why the sudden change now?

Nonetheless, he promptly informed Zhao Gou about the location and time. However, Wang Yangzhi still harbored concerns.

“Elder Zhao Gou, that opponent from the Yamata Clan is at Golden Core Great Perfection, nearing the False Nascent Soul realm. Do you truly feel confident?”

Zhao Gou’s demeanor remained unchanged.

“No worries!” he assured him calmly.

Wang Yangzhi nodded and took his leave.

Once Wang Yangzhi departed, Zhao Gou once again retrieved an ancient meridian book and began studying it meticulously.

Liu Shunyi had been feeling increasingly speechless lately.

The Heavenly God Cult members were like skittish rats, avoiding daylight at all costs.

Damn it, their outposts scattered everywhere, some hidden in caves or underground.

Their forces were dispersed across numerous locations.

Over these days, Liu Shunyi had been acting under Zhao Gou’s name precisely because these cultists weren’t even worthy opponents for himself. Thus, he aimed to enhance Zhao Gou’s reputation further.

However, when Liu Shunyi heard that Zhao Gou intended to engage in a life-or-death battle with the top Golden Core cultivator of the Heavenly God Cult, he was utterly stunned.

“Fuck, Xiao Zhao, you’ve put me in a tough spot!”

After pondering for a moment, Liu Shunyi decided to gather information on the whereabouts of this Yatagarasu clan member.

While not planning an outright ambush, at the very least, he wanted to incapacitate him first.

As Liu Shunyi began his busy search,

he found himself unable to locate either the Yamata Clan or the true headquarters of the Heavenly God Cult.

Despite being at a loss, just as Liu Shunyi felt helpless,

The Grand Dao Golden Book stirred.

“Abe Onisha (Top Grade Orange), Abe Luxue (Pseudo Red), Yoshikamaru (Top Grade Red)!”

Holy shit!

What’s going on here? Why so many new enemies suddenly?

And their tiers…

Incredibly advanced and absurd!

While having more enemies could be advantageous,
the real question is:

How have I offended these individuals?

“Wait, there can’t actually be someone named Nichikan Tetsu, right?!”

Liu Shunyi considered various possibilities.
However, it seemed this was the most plausible explanation.

Naturally,

with these names at hand,

Liu Shunyi could swiftly locate the Heavenly God Cult’s base.

Whenever individuals listed in the Grand Dao Golden Book were nearby,
the book would start flashing incessantly.

As the distance decreased,

the flashing frequency increased.

Liu Shunyi observed the constantly blinking “Abe Onisha,” gradually leading him closer to the Heavenly God Cult’s headquarters.

Wow, impressive.

Their base turned out to be hidden beneath a vast lake.

These bastards sure know how to conceal themselves.

Initially, Liu Shunyi planned to infiltrate the cult undercover.

Suddenly, Liu Shunyi’s eyes lit up as he gazed at the lake surface.

“This must be the main base of the Heavenly God Cult. Since you’ve built it under a lake, well, hehe!”

Liu Shunyi marked the location discreetly and then quietly departed.

However, he didn’t venture far away.

He intended to wait for someone from the Yamata Clan.

But unexpectedly, his plan completely backfired.

After staking out for half a month, Liu Shunyi still hadn’t spotted any member of the Yamata Clan.

Just today, though, a cultivator shouted loudly:

“Come on, let’s go! Today is the life-or-death battle between Elder Zhao Gou and the Yamata Clan representative. They’re both claimed as the top Golden Core experts; this fight will finally prove who truly holds that title.”

Instantaneously, nearly all the cultivators rushed towards the gathering spot.

Liu Shunyi was taken aback.

“Fucking hell!

“I’ve been waiting here forever,

“And the Yamata guy isn’t even at their base?!

“Not to mention that Zhao Gou…

“Oh man.”

Liu Shunyi couldn’t remain idle anymore.

Although he had limited interactions with Zhao Gou, considering how much blame Zhao Gou had shouldered for him, Liu Shunyi already regarded him as a brother. With Zhao Gou fighting tirelessly by his side, there was no way Liu Shunyi could allow him to face mortal danger alone.

With this thought, Liu Shunyi hastened his pace, quickly formulating a plan. In case of dire necessity, he would have to reveal his true identity briefly. This would also provide a stark contrast with his current persona. Although he preferred keeping his original identity hidden, for Zhao Gou’s sake, exposing himself momentarily wouldn’t matter.

Shortly after, Liu Shunyi arrived at the spectators’ area.

As he looked up, he caught sight of Zhao Gou, standing atop a mountain peak with a composed expression, clad in a flowing white robe, exuding an ethereal aura like that of an ascended immortal.

Facing him on another summit was a burly man, bare-chested and wild-eyed – none other than the representative from the Yamata Clan.

Seeing most participants had gathered, the Yamata representative glanced at Zhao Gou and burst out laughing.

“Ah ha ha ha! With your puny frame and deceptive tricks, do you truly believe yourself to be the Golden Core Realm Number One Cultivator?”

“Come, come, today I’ll crush your core for good measure!”

In response to this taunt, Zhao Gou merely chuckled wryly.

“The experiences I’ve had over these years surpass your wildest imagination. Your limited understanding of the Dao should not be flaunted before me, for fate has compelled me onto a path far more extraordinary!”

A deep sense of melancholy filled Zhao Gou’s face as he spoke.

Instantaneously, his fervent fans erupted into loud cheers.
