“Hum…”

The void trembled incessantly.

Gateways to various dimensions opened one after another.

Renowned sects from across Qin Province swiftly gathered in its southern region.

“Something truly significant is about to unfold!” Liu Shunyi exclaimed, somewhat awestruck.

But what exactly was this rumored ancient arcane realm mentioned in whispers?

Liu Shunyi’s tenure here wasn’t extensive but not particularly brief either. After breaking through to the Golden Core Realm, his core had repeatedly been shattered and remolded, depleting nearly all his cultivation resources.

He had been keen on exploring several secret realms for replenishment, even considering a return to the Heavenly Fire Secret Realm, venturing deep into its desert heart. However, accessing it remained temporarily out of reach.

Surprisingly, despite numerous searches throughout the southern part of Qin Province, he hadn’t encountered any signs of a secret realm.

What further astonished Liu Shunyi was that leading the Qinglian Sect contingent was Zhao Gou. Not only did the elders from other sects regard him with respect, but upon closer observation, Liu Shunyi noticed that anyone familiar with Zhao Gou displayed both fear and admiration towards him.

Even Zhao Gou himself now seemed somewhat unfamiliar to Liu Shunyi. How should he describe it?

Previously, Zhao Gou exuded youthful vigor.

Now, his cheerful demeanor was replaced with a serious countenance, emanating an aura of authority befitting a leader.

As for Zhao Gou himself, he merely nodded curtly in acknowledgment to those greeting him.

Surprisingly, no one seemed discontent with this attitude.

Liu Shunyi felt quite curious.

What exactly had Zhao Gou experienced?

How did it transform someone once so outgoing into the person he saw now?

Liu Shunyi promptly pulled aside a nearby cultivator.

“Fellow Daoist, do you know that Zhao Gou?”

The cultivator looked at Liu Shunyi, visibly shocked. “You don’t recognize Senior Zhao Gou?”

Liu Shunyi cleared his throat. “Of course I recognize him, but you see, I’ve been in secluded cultivation all this time. Just emerged now and couldn’t help but feel intrigued by this individual!”

“You seem highly respectful towards him!” The cultivator’s face lit up with fervor.

“Let me tell you honestly, Elder Zhao Gou is my idol! In fact, within the Golden Core Realm, he’s considered the absolute top!”

The cultivator spoke with such passion, turning red in the face.

Liu Shunyi finally began to grasp the situation.

A massacre attributed to ‘Salvation to Myriad Beings’ – wiping out an entire city!

Wait, hold on.

“Are you referring to Jing Shui City?” Liu Shunyi asked cautiously.

The cultivator appeared stunned. “How did you know?”

Liu Shunyi felt utterly bewildered.

No, not again…

He genuinely hadn’t intended for Zhao Gou to take the blame. Moreover, was Zhao Gou blessed with a saintly destiny for shouldering burdens? He swiftly and confidently accepted such a colossal responsibility!

The key point here, as Liu Shunyi meticulously pieced together, was that Zhao Gou’s timing and motives for his actions were remarkably reasonable.

Even Liu Shunyi briefly felt disoriented, wondering, “Could it be that his ‘Salvation to Myriad Beings’ truly led to the city’s massacre?”

Of course not.

Liu Shunyi had a clear understanding of what had transpired.

Thus, he could only gaze with a peculiar expression at Zhao Gou, standing solemnly on the flying boat.

“Oh right, brother, you mentioned knowing Elder Zhao?” asked another cultivator nearby.

Liu Shunyi nodded firmly. “Yes, I know him!”

The cultivator’s face lit up with excitement. “Then, is there any chance you can speak directly with Elder Zhao Gou?”

Liu Shunyi waved his hand dismissively. “I may know Elder Zhao Gou, but he might not necessarily recognize me!”

The cultivator looked crestfallen. “Ah, my apologies, I got carried away. But truly, I desperately want to become Elder Zhao Gou’s disciple!”

Taken aback, Liu Shunyi asked, “Are you also a healer?”

The cultivator shook his head. “No, I’m actually a poison cultivator!”

Liu Shunyi fell silent, momentarily speechless.

The southern half of Qin Province had become remarkably bustling.

Once a barren land, it was now teeming with cultivators. Various sects chose to establish their presence by claiming sections of the vast mountains.

With great power, these adept individuals transformed the terrain, creating majestic palaces adorned with their respective sect’s insignia.

Such feats were truly awe-inspiring and divine-like.

However, this spectacle was primarily visible to ordinary cultivators.

If Liu Shunyi wished, he could have done the same.

Being in the Golden Core Realm grants one the ability to move mountains and fill seas, allowing them to transmute nature for personal use.

Of course, Liu Shunyi did not flaunt such powers indiscriminately.

Instead, he focused on investigating information about the ancient arcane realm. He had yet to discern where or when it might appear, nor any signs that would precede its manifestation.

But that was only part of his quest.

Secondly, Liu Shunyi sought to uncover the current stronghold of the Heavenly God Cult.

He needed enemies, but arbitrarily creating foes seemed inappropriate. Although Liu Shunyi wasn’t inherently virtuous, recklessly adding people to the list without considering their actions felt morally wrong.

However, when it came to the Heavenly God Cult, Liu Shunyi felt no moral qualms whatsoever.

“Fellow Daoist, Fellow Daoist, please wait!”

One day, while casually strolling through a city, Liu Shunyi was suddenly stopped by an extraordinarily ugly woman.

Not only was she grotesque, but her face was also covered with pus-filled boils.

Indeed, she resembled a warty toad!

“Cough, Miss… erm, what can I assist you with?”

The woman giggled mischievously.

“Fellow Daoist, interested in some fun?”

“Ahem!” Liu Shunyi nearly choked on his own breath. “No, not at all!”

He turned to leave immediately.

But the woman swiftly grabbed Liu Shunyi’s arm.

“Don’t worry, I know my limits. Besides, this isn’t our first time having fun together!” As she spoke, the woman produced two identical bells, even featuring the same notch on each one.

“Liu…”

She hastily signaled for silence.

Liu Shunyi nodded understandingly.

“Tsk tsk, handsome lad, come along, let’s head to my room!”

Liu Shunyi remained speechless.

At that moment, several passing cultivators couldn’t help but give him a discreet thumbs-up.

Truth be told, Chen Qiaoli’s disguise was truly… disgustingly effective.

Her attire, Chen Qiaoli’s outfit…

It was disgustingly vile.

As they entered Chen Qiaoli’s room, Liu Shunyi was somewhat taken aback.

Her living quarters were surprisingly ordinary,

with no signs of any precautions or security measures.

“Are you truly Senior Sister Chen?”

Chen Qiaoli glanced around briefly before smiling and responding, “Since I’ve changed my appearance, it’s essential to alter my demeanor as well. My cautious nature is quite distinctive!”

“If I don’t conceal this trait, wouldn’t it be like telling everyone that I’m still Chen Qiaoli?”

Liu Shunyi scratched his head, pondering her words.

“You do have a point,” he admitted. “But let me ask – considering those who crossed you likely met their end without a trace, how certain are you that someone would recognize you now?”

Chen Qiaoli waved her hand dismissively.

“It never hurts to be extra cautious!”

Liu Shunyi fell silent, realizing that indeed, her approach showcased remarkable prudence. Suddenly, he felt a sense of inadequacy compared to his senior sister in terms of caution and foresight.
