After achieving the Golden Core stage, Liu Shunyi did not immediately return.

One reason was his concern about having too few enemies, which left him uneasy.

Through Shi Changxin’s experiment, Liu Shunyi uncovered another potential drawback.

If he encountered a Divine Transformation powerhouse without enough slain adversaries, both they and he would perish.

Of course, their demise would be certain as well.

At worst, they might choose to take him down with them in mutual destruction.

Alternatively, they could simply refrain from killing him and instead seal or suppress him outright.

The message would be clear: “I may not kill you, but I’ll ensure you lose your freedom and prevent any means for self-harm.”

Liu Shunyi even considered the horrifying possibility of being captured by deranged individuals who would subject him to endless torment.

Such a fate would truly be worse than death.

Therefore, Liu Shunyi’s next task involved discreetly creating more enemies, but it had to be done cleverly.

He couldn’t provoke anger so intense that someone would prefer self-destruction alongside him. Yet at the same time, he needed to instill murderous intent within these new foes.

This delicate balance required precise maneuvering.

Hence, Liu Shunyi chose not to rush back immediately.

Currently, Liu Shunyi was situated on the other side of Qin Province.

Nobody here recognized him, providing an opportunity for careful maneuvering.

Additionally, Liu Shunyi began studying the Jing Shui City’s forces: its guards, imperial troops, and disorganized mobs.

Previously, he hadn’t paid much attention to these groups, assuming they were insignificant enough not to warrant names. Thus, he casually jotted them down in the Grand Dao Golden Book.

However, over recent times, while dismantling various evil cultivators’ outposts, Liu Shunyi noticed that no similar entity had appeared under such collective titles.

“I have this feeling there might be some limitations involved. It seems writing about entire factions could have even greater impact than individual names alone.”

For instance:

Shi Changxin was just a member of the Heavenly God Cult.

But if Liu Shunyi were to write the name “Heavenly God Cult” directly in the Grand Dao Golden Book,

wouldn’t it imply that the entire cult would bear the negative consequences for him?

An entire cult, after all, carries more weight than a single individual, doesn’t it?

Offending an entire sect, however, is a matter requiring serious consideration.

“What if I simply bring misfortune straight to the Heavenly God Cult?”

“While the Heavenly God Cult is absorbing blood from the pool, I’ll just casually go and pee on it?”

The more Liu Shunyi thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

Squatting beside Liu Shunyi, Shi Changxin’s eyes widened with disbelief.

Is this something a normal person would do? Of course not, because Liu Shunyi was anything but normal.

In recent times, Shi Changxin had endured immense torment – or rather, he had inflicted it upon himself. He repeatedly attempted to assassinate Liu Shunyi, only to narrowly escape death each time.

Eventually, Shi Changxin realized that the black-robed figure before him must have cast some secret spell, directly transferring any harm intended for him. This revelation shattered his composure.

Adding further to his distress, the infuriating fellow standing over him continually fed him Medicine Pills every day. However, this wasn’t out of kindness; instead, it was to maintain him in peak condition. Liu Shunyi practiced a bizarre Secret Technique that instantly drained Shi Changxin’s vitality.

Whenever Shi Changxin neared collapse, Liu Shunyi eagerly returned to administer more pills, repeating this cycle relentlessly. It felt akin to being subjected to torture by slow slicing.

What Shi Changxin found most frustrating was feeling every bit of the tediousness during this cultivation process.

“What the hell is this damn Secret Technique?!” Shi Changxin felt like crying.

Meanwhile, Liu Shunyi had another headache on his hands.

“Damn, just breaking through to Golden Core consumed all my resources from two secret realms.”

“Without ample cultivation materials, my progress will significantly slow down!” Liu Shunyi sighed.

However, these concerns didn’t deter him for long.

His immediate priority now was to forge his Life Source Magic Treasure.

After all, a Golden Core cultivator with a Life Source Magic Treasure vastly outmatched one without, in terms of combat power.

For the choice of his Life Source Magic Treasure, Liu Shunyi decided on the Azure Wandering Sword. As a secondary option, he selected the gourd given by Ye Yan.

Naturally, Liu Shunyi planned to refine both items simultaneously.

The process was straightforward: using standard refinement techniques, once completed, he would drip a drop of his essence blood, separate a strand of his divine soul, and finally nurture them within his Golden Core!

However, upon reaching the final step, Liu Shunyi was utterly bewildered.

Liu Shunyi appeared utterly bewildered.

Although he had indeed dropped his blood, it wasn’t from his own essence. Similarly, the divine soul used was not his either.

Moreover, the Azure Wandering Sword and gourd demanded hefty contributions – one requiring divine soul energy, the other demanding blood.

The sword sought divine soul, while the gourd craved blood.

What a duo!

This double extraction left Shi Changxin writhing on the ground, screaming in agony.

“W-What have you done to me?”

Liu Shunyi smiled reassuringly. “It’s nothing, don’t worry. Here, take this Medicine Pill!”

He hastily produced a Blood Replenishing Pill.

Shi Changxin took a deep breath. “Don’t even think about it, I…uhh…” Liu Shunyi promptly pried open his mouth and shoved the pill inside.

Shi Changxin’s expression turned even more agonized.

What followed next was a prolonged period of torment.

Time swiftly passed, and half a month later…

Shi Changxin lay limp on the ground, eyes glazed over, drool dripping from his mouth as he mumbled, “Uh-buh, uh-buh…”

Meanwhile, Liu Shunyi held the Azure Wandering Sword emitting pure white sacred light in his right hand, and a gourd emanating black aura in his left.

Instantaneously, these two Life Source Magic Treasures formed a deep connection with Liu Shunyi.

He finally understood why possessing Life Source Magic Treasures fundamentally transformed a Golden Core Cultivator’s capabilities.

The fusion of one’s Dao Techniques with their Life Source Magic Treasures could even lead to mutations, ultimately imprinting those enhancements onto the treasures themselves.

For a Golden Core Cultivator, controlling their Life Source Magic Treasures merely required continuous infusion of magical energy. With a single thought, the treasures would engage in battle according to their wielder’s intent, effortlessly unleashing their unique abilities.

Moreover, provided sufficient magical energy, the size and power of the Life Source Magic Treasures could be scaled at will.

With your command, the Life Source Magic Treasure can grow to any size, and as it expands, its power amplifies accordingly.

This is precisely why Golden Core Cultivators are referred to as immensely powerful beings.

They truly possess the ability to move mountains and fill seas, wielding immense influence over nature itself.

At that moment, Liu Shunyi directly channeled his magical energy.

“Buzz~”

The Azure Wandering Sword instantly swelled to over thirty meters in length.

With a single thought from Liu Shunyi,

“Swish~”

A sword aura radiated from the colossal Azure Wandering Sword.

“Boom!”

Instantly, more than a dozen distant mountain peaks were sliced clean in half, with the severed halves hurtling away.

“That was just one simple thought! Even without using any special attack!” Liu Shunyi marveled.

What would happen if he further activated the Thunder Rush Sword and Lament Sword fused within the Azure Wandering Sword? He dared not even imagine.

Next, Liu Shunyi examined his gourd.

However, the capabilities of this gourd seemed quite intriguing!
