Several more days passed.

The Qinglian Sect remained remarkably calm.

The anticipated great calamity did not materialize.

However, there was no sign of those who had set out to confront the Heavenly God Cult either.

Gradually,

Qinglian Sect returned to its normal state.

Within the sect,

everyone resumed their duties diligently.

Outside the sect as well,

a new batch of servants were recruited.

Furthermore,

the number of disciples joining Qinglian Sect began to surge significantly, far exceeding previous years.

Standing atop a mountain peak, Liu Shunyi gazed at the sea of people below, feeling somewhat overwhelmed with emotion.

Yet alongside this sense of fulfillment, Liu Shunyi also experienced growing concerns.

His cultivation base was nearing a critical point where he could no longer suppress it effectively.

With even the slightest lapse in control, he might inadvertently trigger the Heavenly Tribulation and form his Golden Core.

“I can’t delay any further; I must find a safe place to Transcend the Tribulation,” Liu Shunyi pondered internally.

At the same time,

he realized another issue:

There was a lack of information about the current situation outside.

How far had the war progressed? He knew nothing.

Liu Shunyi had no idea about the current situation outside or how far the war had progressed.

“This can’t continue indefinitely!” Suddenly, he pondered whether he needed to establish another identity and create a network dedicated to gathering intelligence.

On one hand, it would keep him informed about events unfolding outside. On the other, it could help identify any particularly nefarious individuals with high cultivation bases within the cultivation world.

Liu Shunyi found this idea feasible, but there was a problem: He required someone completely trustworthy. However, based on his present circumstances, the concept seemed rather impractical.

“Boom!”

As Liu Shunyi’s thoughts consumed him, he nearly lost control of his cultivation base. The sky instantly began to darken.

“No, given the current situation, I must find a safe place to break through to the Golden Core stage first!” With that decision, Liu Shunyi prepared to enter secluded cultivation once again.

Coincidentally, as soon as he returned, Ye Yan arrived at his doorstep.

“Brother Liu, are you going into secluded cultivation?” asked Ye Yan.

Liu Shunyi nodded.

At that moment, Ye Yan glanced around and quietly asked:

“Brother Liu, do you have any Medicine Pills for nourishing the divine soul?”

Taken aback, Liu Shunyi replied:

“Not currently, but I can certainly concoct some.”

As he spoke, Liu Shunyi examined Ye Yan closely.

“You don’t seem to need them yourself!”

Ye Yan waved his hand dismissively.

“It’s not for me, it’s for my Master.”

Then, Ye Yan shared with Liu Shunyi about the jade pendant and the elderly man residing within it.

After hearing this, Liu Shunyi looked at Ye Yan, somewhat speechless.

The grandfather inside the jade pendant also stared at Ye Yan, visibly shocked.

“Why didn’t you try to conceal it or come up with an excuse?” Liu Shunyi questioned.

The elderly man in the jade pendant echoed his confusion, gazing at Ye Yan.

Ye Yan chuckled sheepishly.

“I trust Brother Liu quite a lot, and my instincts tell me he is reliable!”

Both the old man in the jade pendant and Liu Shunyi fell silent for a moment.

Eventually, Liu Shunyi broke the silence: “This kind of information should remain between us only. Do not mention it to anyone else.”

Ye Yan nodded.

“I trust you with this information; I’m not foolish!”

Liu Shunyi acknowledged him and then turned to the jade pendant, saying, “Old Man, since we’re all on the same side now, why don’t you come out for some fresh air?”

The jade pendant remained quiet for a moment before a fragmented soul emerged, exuding an ethereal aura.

As Liu Shunyi observed the soul, he couldn’t help but feel astonished.

“Your fragmented soul seems to have been refined by someone else. How is that possible?”

The fragmented soul sighed deeply.

“A regrettable encounter indeed.”

Liu Shunyi recalled the gatekeeper brother from earlier and involuntarily shook his head.

Indeed, that ungrateful guy’s actions were quite outrageous.

“Wait here for a moment!” Liu Shunyi announced.

He promptly entered the Alchemy Room. Within less time than it takes to burn half an incense stick, Liu Shunyi reemerged holding a Medicine Pill.

“Here, take this!”

The fragmented soul was taken aback.

“This…this is genuinely a Soul Nourishing Pill. However, crafting such a pill requires a vast amount of souls. How did you manage to create it?”

Liu Shunyi extended his hand, summoning a blue flame instantly.

“You, you must be insane! Burning your own soul to refine a pill for me?”

Liu Shunyi smiled reassuringly.

“It’s no problem!”

A sudden wave of guilt washed over Ye Yan.

“Bro, dear bro! If I had known that Soul Nourishing Pills were crafted this way, I wouldn’t have bothered you at all.”

Liu Shunyi waved his hand dismissively.

“It’s no trouble!”

“Oh, right, Bro, the main reason I came today is to give you something special!”

With that, Ye Yan swiftly produced a miniature gourd from his pocket.

“What is this?”

Liu Shunyi took the small gourd, examining it closely.

Ye Yan began explaining, “It’s a treasured heirloom from my family. Rumor has it that there’s an entire world inside, but I’m not sure if it’s true. However, it does possess immense space and can hold almost anything.”

Liu Shunyi was taken aback.

“This…I cannot accept it!”

Ye Yan hastily waved his hands.

“Bro, you’ve saved my life twice now and even rescued my Master once. I don’t have much of value, but this is one thing I can offer. Please don’t refuse; if you don’t take it, I won’t come back here again!”

After some thought, Liu Shunyi finally sighed.

“Well then, let me keep it for safekeeping. If you change your mind, you can always retrieve it anytime.”

Ye Yan looked pleased.

Seeing how genuinely Ye Yan considered him as part of his inner circle, Liu Shunyi reached into his robes and pulled out a book written in ancient seal script – which people of this world couldn’t understand anyway.

The title read: “A Guide to Transmigrating Cultivators.”

Liu Shunyi handed the book to Ye Yan.

“This book contains some things from my homeland. If you ever encounter someone from there and find them to be of good character, please give this book to them.”

Ye Yan solemnly accepted the book.

“I understand, but is there any distinctive feature or mark that identifies people from your homeland?”

Liu Shunyi scratched his head.

“Distinctive feature?”

He paused, gathering his thoughts.

“It’s hard to describe precisely, but one noticeable trait stands out. If you meet someone like me, look into their eyes; they will undoubtedly reflect a simplicity uncommon in the cultivation world!”

Intrigued, Ye Yan instinctively checked himself in a mirror, comparing his eyes with Liu Shunyi’s.

A moment of silence fell between them.

“So, essentially, we could be considered kin?” Ye Yan asked uncertainly.

Liu Shunyi shook his head.

“Not exactly, it’s difficult to explain! Let me show you something.” Suddenly, he drew a symbol featuring a large star surrounded by four smaller stars.

“If anyone sees this emblem, treats it with great reverence, and wears jewelry resembling it,” Liu Shunyi demonstrated a salute gesture, “then they are indeed my fellow countrymen.”

Ye Yan nodded thoughtfully.

“All right, I get it. But is relying on such a symbol reliable?”

Liu Shunyi chuckled mischievously.

“Oh, absolutely! You might not realize, but if my compatriots were to spot this symbol floating anywhere in this world, it would cause quite a stir.”

Ye Yan agreed, nodding once more.

“Got it, I’ll keep an eye out!”

Liu Shunyi explained, “Don’t worry too much about it. Somehow, I feel like you might be a Child of Destiny, and you’ve proven to be a decent person. If you achieve success in the future, this could also secure a path for my fellow townsman!”

Ye Yan laughed heartily, “Rest assured, as long as I’m alive, your townsman will always be mine too! But bro, why do I sense that you’re making arrangements as if settling your affairs?”

Liu Shunyi shook his head, “No, not quite like that. I’ll be entering secluded cultivation for some time.”
